So JoAnne I procrastinated all day and then figured out a day that would work for the extraction and then the office was closed at 4 so will call early tomorrow--found out they take calls from 7 on so maybe I'll still get in this week--assuming I have to go for a consultation first so hoping they have an opening on Thursday or Friday.
Making DH filet tonight and baked potato--I am having leftover chili--am trying to eat less beef and I really do not miss it.
OMG I started cleaning out my closet last night and finished it Nd the linen closet this afternoon. Big Bros and Sisters comes on Tuesday to pick up and I have four bags to donate so far. Think I might hit the laundry room cupboards yet and get rid of some stuff I again have not used in some long while. I love walking in my closet again--now DH says he will do his side cause I made him look bad. LOL.
I finished my book about 17th century Paris--wow, was quite a read--excellent four years of research to write that book! Now I am full speed in to Crime and Punishment--Jordan and I are right at the same place in it so have been "talking" a bit about it by text. He likes it, too--at first I was not sure I would but am hooked now.

Joan - hope you get the day for the surgery set up today. Funny that you are trying to eat less beef and I am trying to eat more - evber since the two anemia ekpisodes. Speaking of closets, I have been trying to think how I want my closet redesigned. Will do it when I update the master and the hall baths. I want every bit of the closet space utilized with hanging areas and storage areas. There is so much wasted space in it now. I have to really think and plan. Same with my master bath as it is very small but I can think of a lot of things to do with it - shelves, cabinets, etc.
The weather change has made it colder inside my house than outside. I guess it cool down at night and during the day, just doesn't warm up inside. I guess I'm going to have to turn on the heat or stay about 63-64 degrees inside. I hate turning on the heat.

Wow, I guess it must be getting pretty cold there! We have finally stopped using AC except for an occasional quick cool down right before bedtime when we have forgotten to have the bedroom door open after dinner.
Did pilates and yoga today and threee people from my old yoga class showed up to try it--that was a surprise! I think they, too, were impressed with my favorite teacher who does both classes.
I got a consultation set on set up for Monday pm and will schedule the extraction then--she thinks I can probably get it done next week as they are not packed with appts for some odd reason.
No no clue what I am making for dinner tonight!

Hi everyone!
Have colonoscopy procedure this afternoon, ugh. My nephew recommended a lower volume prep for it but still unpleasant, this being my first time.
Joan, one of these days I hope all your dental work will be completely done.
Jojo, I am still low in iron as well, although there was some improvement from last year. We probably have beef 3-4x per month. BBL

Kale, kale and more kale--lots of iron there! My yoga friend was so low it was really dangerous and she ate kale twice a day plus lots of kidney beans and beets she said. I have not had he iron issue since I quit taking that low dose aspirin. It was causing a slow bleed through some lesions in my stomach.
My dr won't let me do that easier prep anymore Sue and I so hate the high volume stuff! I have one every five years.
Went out with cruise bf's last night and had ahi tuna over cauliflower mash. Was so good.

Hi all,
Just a usual Saturday. Chores, exercise, etc. I am working on a lace scarf pattern. It is supposed to get really cold tomorrow.
Sue, hope your procedure went well.
Joan, my dad usually grows kale in his fall garden. Hope you got your procedure set up. I’m stuck in this endless loop with insurance about my teeth stuff. I moved ahead with the process because I only have contact on two molars, and they’re already starting to wear down, and it’s causing a lot of pain in my jaw.
JoJo, I might have to break down and turn on the heat tonight. My house gets a lot of sun, so it warms up a good bit during the day.

Hi!
The weather is crazy here, it was cold and dismal for a couple of days then it has been sunny and 70s, today was gorgeous. Good thing because it is Free Streets day in the city with blocks of road blocked off for pedestrians and bikers.
An ex colleague came over with her 6yr old daughter and then we went to brunch at a nearby restaurant, ate outside at covered roof deck of the restaurant. It was nice. Unfortunately, she and her DH (also ex coworker - they have both worked on my team) are separated and probably heading to divorce. Very sad, but she is trying to move on. The daughter is completely adorable.
Then I went to the gym, now relaxing.
Joan, why can't you do the lower volume one any more? It went fine yesterday, the prep process, as they say is the worst part. Hopefully, it will be another 10 yrs before the next one.
Holly, sorry about all the problems with insurance, it is such a hassle. Hopefully you can become pain free soon.
Tomorrow will be chores and food prep. Ready for a calm day with nothing social. Watch football of course!

Sue, so many divorces happening. DD's friend of 17 years is going thru it and it is a terrible mess--the husband is spending as much money as he can, gambling, drinking, and has a gf--she is traumatized likeee DD was and now DD is seeing what we went thru as she trito help her. My former art teacher in Denver same thing except he is bipolar and is a nightmare to deal with--one minute verbally attacking and threatening police ( for made up projected stuff he actually does) and next minute begging to get back together. Honestly kids are so damaged by all this stuff. Makes me so happy I got out while my kids were little.
Went to class and then grocery shopped and then saw Victoria and Abdul which was a great movie. DH was skeptical but absolutely loved it. DH and I walked for an hour after.
Holly, I hope you get some dental relief soon. Never heard of arm knitting--I thought those throws looked so cozy.
Making salmon quice for dinner. Just beeped so have to go.

Long time with no posts. We are enjoying such beautiful weather here! The King and I was wonderful--3 hr play and time flew by!
DH is at audioloand think he is buying this most recent h aide he tried--OMG they are by Widex and the interface with the phone and Apple Watch is great--also you get a small wire thing that you can Bluetooth audio at the movies and the theater directly to the aides--he loves them. Will be a big expense again but if he hears better he will want to go to movies and such more so worth it.
I neeed to go to the store--just procrastinating.
Did pilates and yoga and shock of shocks DH showed up for yoga--bought a month pass for the gym--maybe he will even try out a weights class--hope so!
Scheduled oral surgery for the 14th. It's going to be intense. The wisdom tooth totally decayed and infected--bad extraction he said as it is dangerously near a sensory nerve and I could lose feeling in bottom left lip and chin--he said he is sure that's why no one ever suggested pulling my bottom ones--bothhave same problem. Also my second bone graft is dying--may be dead--and that is why the gum is pulling back from it so he has to go in and scrape dead bone away until he either finds live bone ( it will bleed) or hits the implant. If the latter, then he removes the implant and does another bone paste graft and we wait four months to see if it works and redo th the implant in yet another surgery. The stuff on fixing all that will be no charge as they stand behind their work. However the tooth extraction will be 1400$ also I cannot do any exercise, not even walking in the park, for a full week at the least. And soft food for three weeks as he said the jaw bone will be so thin that I could break my jaw chewing. Geez, the whole appt was a bit of a downer! I will have to be very creative in soft foods not to gain weight! However, in the big scheme of things this is not cancer and the nerve does not control muscle movement so I have to think thankful cause it could be worse!
He did not think I would enjoy DD's visit next week if I did this today. Might mess up Thanksgiving but I can give that up as long as by Christmas I am healed.

Holly - arm knitting? what is that? Is it holding the right needle under the arm? I haven't used big enough needles to do that with yet. I am finally getting the purl stitch - took me quite a while. I am trying to make a hat to practice ribbing. I am still slow - crocheting goes so much faster for me. It's fun learning something new though and a little challenging.
Joan - oh me!! The surgery sounds so complicated. I know you will be so glad to have it over and through the convelenscence. You could drink the smoothies likek DH and I do every day at lunch. They are so good! We eat the the consistency of a milkshake - eat with a spoon-frozen. The frozen cherries and some ice added in the Vitamix gives the consistency.
Sue - Good to hear that the colonoscopy went well and no problems found. Another procedure that everyone is glad to have over.
I got the results of my yearly physical back yesterday. My Vit D is low and he has ordered a pill for me to take for 3 mo. He also changed my lipid drug to Crestor. I had taken Lipitor for about 40 yrs. (took hight dose 80mg.). Lately it began to make me ache terribly and I stopped taking it. Have not had any for 6 weeks now. Of course my lipid profile was off the wall (385). He wants me to try a low dose of Crestor and see how I do in 3 mo. too. Everything else was fine. All of DH's lab was great!
We have had some beautiful day time weather here but cold at night. I love being outside during the day now.
Halloween was quiet here as usual. Only 2 tick or treaters - 2 little princesses from across the street - they were so cute and made my night. I answered the door and the oldest (about 4yrs.) told me she loved tootsie pops as I put a couple in her pumpkin. Then she asked, "where is grandpa?" - so cute - I told her that he had gone to a movie and she wanted to know what he was watching! Wish we had more little children in this neighborhood.

Hi!
Kind of busy last couple of days. I've been figuring out how to get visa for Brazil, kind of complicated, online application with a lot of attachments, then will have to go to NYC to get the visa in our passports.
Monday night we went out to dinner with our oldest couple friends, so was great to see them. We probably see them 2-3 times per year.
Yesterday was volunteer day then gym.
Joan, the dental surgery sounds so tough. Really hoping all goes well with it all and you can enjoy Christmas with family. You could do pureed veg, maybe souffles? Glad your DH found good new hearing aids.
Jojo, great that your DH's results were good! You must be relieved.
Tomorrow is my mom's second cataract surgery, so will be with my dad while my sister is with my mom.
