I did end up ordering a box of the bilt bars. I don't remember who suggested it. I got a mixed box and it was $32 for 16 bars but they are the size of a regular, not king size, candy bar. They are 3 points. It seems expensive but I think well worth it as it's made with real chocolate and is delicious! I will order them again. Plus they also have a sampler of six bars for $9.99 but with the bigger box shipping is free but not with the sampler. Don't mean to sound like a commercial but when I find something this good I just have to share! I was able to get 6 built bars with free shipping for $6.59. I use honey.com which finds coupon codes and the best deal and applies it.

I LOVE avocados. Measure your avocados for the most accurate point calculation. It is 11 pts for a medium avocado (whatever medium means) but only 4 pts for 1/2c. Which is actually the measurement of a whole avocado of the avocados I buy. Therefore, I now eat more avocados

Good morning ladies, I lost 1.4 this week and I have been tracking in 3 places and watching my carbs. I'm not at 100% but working on it. I am not going no carbs as I love my carbs but what I'm doing is trying not to have more than 90 grams a day. So far I think I'm doing good. As long as I keep tracking and be accountable what I eat I will be OK. Another storm on the way and frigid cold all week. Got everything I needed so I don't need to go out this week except for TOPS tonight. Sandy...where did you get those Bilt bars, I've checked amazon and they don't seem to have them Joanne, Try www.buitbar.comCongrats on your loss

Geri I am not wearing a Fitbit right now as the eczema on my wrist is healing. I don’t like the other wrist. I probably shouldn’t have joined our challenge. No I am not giving up flour/wheat. I do love reading and watching documentaries about our food though. If I gave up all questionable food I’d go hungry. Well maybe I’d finally lose weight! Ha
KC I love avocados. My favorite way to eat them is smeared on toast with an egg on top. Also on salads, especially taco salad.
I am beginning to think weighing some food is the better way to track. I’ve been perplexed about the accuracy of the walnuts I eat on oatmeal. I’m getting calories all over the place.
Joanne you rock! Wonderful weight loss.
The lady who had a stroke passed on any food as they had just bought a lot of groceries before. She was still in her jammies so I will visit later. Haven’t delivered the other yet. This is such a caring community others have been delivering. Soup going in the freezer.

WW QUESTION: if a Belgian waffle with no butter or toppings is 210 calories, how could it possibly be 14 pts? That is what my tracker said, so that is what I tracked, even though I thought it should be more like 8 or 10

Ruth I looked up Belgian waffle recipes and they all call for 1/2 C oil for 6-8 waffles. It’s probably the fat is causing the high pts.

Joanne I ordered mine at builtbar.com - sounds like Ruth got a good coupon. Was that just for the six sampler? Sorry I had the spelling wrong.

Greetings:
My DS flew out this morning back to Boise and his world.
The XH will go into hospice after a couple of weeks at the nursing home for them to get it set up. I have tried to stay away and out of their conversations since they got back from seeing him. But it sounds like he's invited a few complications into their lives. He is leaving the house to the boys equally, but his girlfriend may live there as long as she wants, rent free. So the "details" of taxes and insurance have to be addressed. The house is paid for, so that's good. It's none of my business I keep telling myself.
His MD has said she can't believe he's still alive. He's treated his body so badly.
I read the past few days' posts. Bad weather abounds. We had snow this morning so I asked DIL to take DS to the airport. It's 28 for the high. Got about 3/4 inches of snow. Now I'm waiting to see if it gets shoveled. If it doesn't I'll do it tomorrow.
Jane, glad you've got the line dancers going. I didn't go back far enough to understand about the built bars. I found them on Amazon and a reference to a coupon. I've been eating WW bars I bought a long time ago. Some day they will be gone.
We started working on vacation. Going east this year again. Spending a week in Maine with DS and family. None of the houses I found worked for DDIL. so, I said, feel free. I gave DH's parameters and mine, and she met his but not mine. So, I'm trying to decide if that was purposeful or what. She went out of her way to explain how the house she found met his 2 requests. I guess that's enough. When you're the stepmother you just pay the bills and keep your mouth shut!
The quiz was interesting, Gail. I got some right, I don't remember how many.
Someone mentioned a SS balance/yoga class. I'm glad it's working for you! I went to one about a year ago and it wasn't like that.
I just started a new book that is supposed to be wonderful, but it's quite disappointing. No wonderful about it. So, going to return it and read some of what I have in my stack.
I liked reading about making dishes and giving them away. I used to do a lot of that. It's almost impossible anymore with everyone's food preferences and rejections.
Yesterday I ran errands with my DS from Oregon and by the end of the day I was spent.
Karen E, Vicki, Sandy, I feel your snow pain. Ruth, bet you're having fun with the little ones. Ouch. missing the bus. That can be exciting. If the guys here had a bus I suspect they'd miss it, too. They live too close for the bus route and, I think, too far to walk so they are taken and retrieved each day.
I didn't make notes, so I probably have missed something I intended to respond to!
Oh, I did read something about bone density. To jump once and wait 30 seconds before jumping again. To jump a total of 20 times with a 30-second wait. That that has shown to have the greatest improvement in bone density. I did a few today. Then I forgot what I was doing and went off to do something else! Jump. Not everyone can or should jump, but it's an interesting idea.
Took DS to breakfast yesteday and I had a Belgian waffle. With blueberries. I gave it 10 points. That was jolly well enough. DH likes fast food -- Jack in the Box particularly. There is one breakfast sandwich I can have for 9 pts. I seldom do fast food with him, but we did it the other day.
My DGS-7 loves avos. We used to buy them at Costco, but they seem to leap from green to overripe. So, we buy them at Sprouts, a cheaper whole foods-type place.
Joanne, you are so absolutely right. Tracking and accountability. Major important. With everything going on here I've been hit or miss. Today back to the "hit".

Dietician said 1/8 to 1/4 avocado is a serving depending on the size, small or large.

I feel sorry for those of you having snow, ice, and freezing temps. I have the heat on 73 and a small heater blowing on me, a long sleeve shirt, a heavy sweat shirt and jeans and shoes and feel like i need to wear gloves. The Dr. in OH told us to live in FL to thin Don's blood and so mine must be so thin that I can't get warm now. All 4 of us were cold at bridge and the hostess DH was working in the garage for about 15 min and came in saying he was freezing. I won today.
No DR. bills in today's mail but the hospital costs that are sent to the insurance and the insurance sends them saying this is not a bill but you owe this much money. It is a lot of money so now I wait on the bills. The attorney has me going in on Wed. to sign papers.
All of my line dancers were there today but not the new woman. I hope she doesn't bother to come back now. If you don't stick with it you don't learn how to do it.
Joanne--congrats on the loss.
All 3 of my rings for activity are closed and I have over 7000 steps and played bridge for over 4 hours today and spend an hour in the car going to and from Line dancing.
I have to stop at the library on the way to grief counseling tomorrow. It is the last day to pick up some things. I have 4 books and a movie in and 2 more that have been shipped. I have 2 books and a movie to return. I have a lot to read and I know I won't get there all done. Current book is Patterson's Target Alex Cross.

The movie about Ruth Bader Ginsburg, ON THE BASIS OF SEX, is quite an inspiration. I left the theater crying.
