luanne, according to what I've read the photo was first found and released by a right wing website called Big League Politics which was originally started by ex-Breitbart staffers who thought Breitbart was too tame. It is strange that the photo never came to light sooner. Usually not much dirt can escape today's political campaigns.

At this point, everyone but Northam seems to understand how bad this is. He looks like he is desperate to hold onto power by walking back his remorseful statement from yesterday and insisting now it is not him on his page in his med school yearbook. It strains credibility.

Absolutely, Linda, there is a huge double standard when it comes to Republicans. The hypocrisy is sickening.

Yes, it was 47 ABOVE, today, so, yes, warm & toasty. Tomorrow, tho, another storm moving in with wind chills down to maybe 35 below & 4 inches of snow possible. Typical ND weather. I wimp out & just stay inside. :-)

WHY, because he is another Republican politician who thinks he can get away with this. JA has proven that lying is pretty much normal, now, so, if he can lie & tell you what you saw & heard with your own eyes is a lie & expect the rest of the supporters to believe him, then lie it is. Remember Al Franken & those photo's. He did the honorable thing, stepped down & apologized....Oh, that's right he is a Democrat who maybe understands right from wrong. Not saying what Frankin did was right concerning those photos, but ....well, whatever. I'm just so tired of this double standard with the Republicans becoming the norm right before our very eyes. UGH! Yes, but unfortunately Northam is a Democrat too although I did see something on FB today where CNN at one point had him identified incorrectly on the screen as a Republican. Right now I sure wish he was a Republican. LOL! Yep, unfortunately Northam is a Democrat. What I find somewhat hypocritical is the Northam is being asked to resign over something he might have done in college. Kavanaugh was confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. Another bit of hyprocrisy is the Republicans who are screamed for him to resign are the same ones who have no problem holding the celebrations for Robert E. Lee.
If/when Northam resigns the lt. governor will take over, he is an African American. This would probably be a great move for Virginia.

Ann, do you not worry that Schultz will siphon votes away from Democrats and yet not be able to win as an Independent thus assuring Trump a win? I have a real concern about that. Yes, if he runs as an INDEPENDENT. I want to watch his progress (or non progress). There is something there that could work. The long knives have really come out for him.

It is a gorgeous sunny day out my window, and Linda I don't want to rub it in but yesterday as I was driving home from the nursing home my car thermometer read 66*! We'll have cold temperatures again, but I'll definitely take these while we can get them! Come on down ladies. The question now just seems to be when will Northam resign. I don't see any way for him to survive this fiasco at this point. It was bad enough for him that the picture surfaced, but he has totally bungled the way he has handled it. In fact, he's done such a bad job with it that it makes one wonder if he couldn't do better than he has about this how good a job could he do in governing his state? I gave him the benefit of the doubt when I first heard about the photo and felt some sympathy for him. However, the mess he's made since then leaves me cold. Not sure what we will do today, but whatever it is definitely calls for not squandering the sunshine while we have it so we'll be getting out and doing something. I'll check back later. Have a great day, and if you're sports fans enjoy the Super Bowl. Pam, I think I remember you often go to a Super Bowl party. Have fun!

You-know-who tweeted that Northam's past behavior is "unforgivable". I have the solution: he changes his party affiliation to Republican.
Yes, we have all done questionable or down right wrong things in our past. We are not serving in public office.

Well said, Lani! The worst thing about lying to me is you think I'm stupid enough to believe you.
If I dressed up like either one of those people I would have remembered it. Especially if I already apologized.
As soon as I saw it I would have said that's not me. I never did that.
Wouldn't you?

Yes, absolutely that's something I would have remembered Pat. So to admit it and apologize for it I could forgive, but now to back track and say it's not him after having already said that it was and apologized just stretches credulity too far for me. I can forgive a stupid act especially when in your 20s. I can't forgive not being repentant for that act, and I can't forgive treating me as if I'm stupid enough that I'll believe anything you say no matter how many times you contradict yourself. I have no more sympathy to spare for Northam. If that's the kind of character he has, Virginia would be better served without him. Certainly the Democratic party would be better served without him. Republicans may be willing to accept this whatever story comes out of my mouth at the moment philosophy, but Democrats (at least this Democrat) are not. I can forgive a lot as long as you are truthful with me. But lying leaves me cold.

Hi Joyce! You and I are probably the only people on the computer today. It's a good time to go shopping. Lol.
I agree with you about a lie being the unforgivable sin. The lie or the cover up is always somehow worse than the wrong doing. Your lies tell me what you really think of me. I'm so stupud I'll believe anything you say.

I'm fed up with hearing this JA lying about the border, that Nancy Pelosi is in favor of human trafficking, and that a ridiculous 14th century wall is going to solve all problems. I'm especially sick of hearing it when I also know that many children, and as hard as it is to imagine the government doesn't even know how many children, are still not reunited with their parents. What's even worse, evidently the government has given up and doesn't even intend to try to reunite these children. Plus we learn that there are likely many, many more than we were ever told about to begin with. I am ashamed of my government for this. We could lay this all at the JA's feet, but why didn't someone along the way stand up and say NO! We ask ourselves why so many Germans went along and participated in the Holocaust. We like to think we are somehow morally superior to that, and yet look how many people have been complicit in taking these children from their parents. And now to say it's just too complicated to reunite them?! I feel nothing but utter contempt and disgust for this, and it just makes me feel sick to my stomach that a government which purports itself to represent me instigated and continues to allow this atrocity to be unaddressed.
The only hope we have of making our country more secure, of bringing decency back to the forefront, and of having a country we can be proud of--the country so many have made the ultimate sacrifice for--is to get him out of the White House. I don't care anymore how he goes, but absolutely he has got to go.
