Hi Everyone i knew I stumbled upon the right thread after reading recent posts here. I lost 127 pounds years ago on Weight Watchers and kept it off for a long time.. just over 20 years. Hello LifeTime. I still have all my old weigh in books that were marked weekly, every flipping food journal, and my trusty points slider and calculator. I swear I spent a small fortune on the Smart Ones Cookie Dough frozen desserts. The past year, I have found myself gaining and it really has left me in a complete funk. It has been very much weight on the scale but it feels like a failure in my head. I have tried all the new programs and they just don’t seem to work. I still use my old Points Slider yet I find myself hungry.
I was young, stayed home with my young kiddos, worked out like crazy, and was not thinking about what happens to when you start to approach 50.
Now I am 47, working in a physical job, tired by 2:00pm, and working out seems overwhelming. That once Buffy the Vampire Slayer physique that reflected back at me in the mirror now feels more like Mrs. Potato Head.
It’s soo disappointing. I worked so hard … probably to hard to maintain for so long. It’s become stressful to figure out what to do. I just have to get back to the basics. Enough water, enough sleep, and an old points plan.
Thank You for allowing me a safe place to regroup.

Hello firedancegirl - Welcome to our thread I feel for you and completely understand the stress of seeing the weight coming back on after all the hard work of taking it off I've been through that so many times myself, it has just worn me out. The last time I went to Weight Watchers was in 2009-2010 and I really liked the Momentum plan. I lost over 100 pounds then. When I decided to lose weight again in 2015 (after I'd gained all the lost weight back), I did the Momentum plan by myself again and I lost all the weight I'd gained back over a few years time. But unfortunately I've gained back over half of what I lost and for the last few years I'll have a year that I lose 40 or so pounds, then the next year gain them back and then next year try to lose them again. It's madness! I'm glad you still have the old Points Slider and maybe using that and mixing in some other new things will help you. I think the hardest thing is just finding what works for us. I wish you all the best and good luck to get ahold of the weight before it all comes back. I wouldn't wish that on anyone after dealing with it myself. If you like to track your food, you might consider the Healhi app, in case you haven't heard about it. Several people on this board use it. I've tried it and it works well, but I just do better with paper and pen or a spreadsheet. Please post whenever you need support, the people who post here have always been supportive to me and others. Hope anyone else checking in is doing well. After a few days of goofing around and not tracking, I rededicated myself to tracking again and keeping my calories from getting out of control. I sure wish I could walk again, but right now my knees won't take it. Take care everyone

Hope everyone is doing well I just wanted to check in with how I'm doing. After those few days of goofing around I've been tracking for all of August and staying within my calorie range. I finally saw some pounds lost on the scale today, so that was a nice feeling This made me remember that I lost weight better when I had a few higher calories days mixed in with the lower calorie days during each week. I guess it's mixes up my metabolism so it doesn't get used to the same calories each day. I need to work out a plan for maybe two days a week with higher calories. I hope I can keep doing well since my knees and my health in general really need the weight loss. Take care and have a great weekend!

Hope anyone checking in is doing well I've been staying on track pretty well. I tend to have a day every 2 weeks or so where I just want to overeat, so I've just been going with it and doing it. Fortunately I've been able to get right back eating within my calories. I've also tracked my food every day for almost two months now, and I'm glad I got back into that habit. I've lost some weight too, which is nice. The sad thing is when you are large, like I am, it takes a 40-50 pound loss to even see it in my body or clothes. It's frustrating when I can lose 20 pounds and not even see it I hope to keep working at this, since I have several things in my life that I need to do and the weight makes it really difficult to do them.

Hope everyone is doing well and you'll check in and let us know how you are I did pretty well for August, but ended up taking a few days "off" at the end of the month. I'm back to tracking today and hope to do that all month. And I'm still counting calories and that has been working well for me. I also want to try to start some walking again each day, unless my knees are hurting really badly. I think I use my knees as an excuse sometimes, when I should really try to be more active. Hope we all have a good month

Good morning
Cj59, that’s great that counting calories is working for you. I think I do the same thing regarding exercise. My knees/legs hurt all the time.

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well other than your knees and legs I set up an Excel spreadsheet on my desktop computer, so I just log my food into that each day and track the calories. It's been working well for me. I'm hoping to do well in September and maybe see a 4-5 pound loss if I can. Hope anyone else checking in is doing well

Good morning
Cj59, that sounds great how you are tracking the calories. I would love to lose 5 pounds this month.
I’m hanging in there. Trying to get focused. I’m doing better, but….

Hi sunrose - I hope you can get focused and lose those pounds I'd love to lose 5 pounds too, but I'm finding for the first time, of all the dieting I've done, that the weight is not coming off well - it's very, very slow. I used to always be able to lose at least 1-2 pounds a week, but not now. I guess a few things are different now - I'm older and I'm not exercising. I'm also thinking that maybe I'm not eating enough calories - I'm keeping it around 1200 a day. I may try a week with one or two higher days to shake up my metabolism. That worked for me in the past. It's such a struggle and I try not to beat myself up over it. I just wish I could have kept it off at least one of the time I lost it over the last 40 years

Good morning
Cj59, shaking things up usually helps me. I too could lose a few pounds a week. Now I’m up/down all week.
