hpeterson1951, I usually like the Agatha Christie movies, but I couldn't make it through Death on the Nile!

Another Harlan Coben one: The Stranger. Seems pretty good after 2 episodes.

hpeterson1951 , I usually like the Agatha Christie movies, but I couldn't make it through Death on the Nile! I just can't handle the mustache! DH and did try to watch it some time ago, and we also gave up. Trying too hard to be risque IMO.

Shogun, so far, has been really good. It is one of those shows where the background noise can drown out the talking, especially the (few) female actors. Luckily it's mostly subtitled! The only one I have trouble with is Rodriguez.

I watched a Haunting in Venice over the weekend. I was kind of disappointed by it. It wasn't bad, I just thought it was a little boring. I was so disappointed in that movie. It was such a bore that my DH fell asleep. I was so happy that I rented the movie from the library & didn't go to the theater.

The new Roadhouse on amazon. It was enjoyable. The basic story plot, settings, bad guys, etc was pretty much the same as the Swayze one, but a lot more humor (intentional - or not lol). Conor McGregor Was his bat sh.. crazy self, so no acting there.

DotRen, I watched half of that last night- had to go to bed. I agree a lot more humor. As a movie on it's own, it was an easy watch. But I love the original Roadhouse and there can never be a match up better than Patrick Swayze and Same Elliot!

DotRen, ohh, House of Dragon 2 looks good. We don't get Max so I'll probably miss it. I was surprised how much we liked Road House. The violence was almost too much but Jake G is terrific. The whole cast was good and it was well done.

linda72, I liked that they added quite a bit of humor to off-set how dark the Road House plot is.

DotRen, the humor helped a lot to lighten the mood. DH recognized Conor McGregor immediately; he's an Irish mixed martial arts champion. He's only 35 years old; years of getting beaten up have aged him. This was his first movie, was paid $5.5 million and is now the highest paid first time actor. I suspect he'll be making more movies; he added a lot to the show. I had no idea Jake was physically fit; wow!

I had no idea Jake was physically fit; wow! I didn't either! I knew Conor McGregor would be fit because he is a professional athlete, but I had no clue Jake looked like that either!
