Ruth, thanks for the update on your Dh, your brother and your niece’s husband. Regarding your niece’s husband, I know of someone with a similar situation, where they have had cancer removed and treated (actually the reverse) and it keeps coming back…but thankfully for them it has been treatable each time…and regarding your brother, prostate cancer runs in my husbands family and I know that in most cases, the vast majority of cases, men do not die from it. I have no idea if this vinegar trick will work, and I tried to spray the vinegar on the bed frame and not on the soil. I would think that the acidic vinegar might interfere with germination . Who knows.
Regarding the husky, I did some straight line stitching last nite which is not free motion…my tension issues were with free motion work. But so far so good.
CJ- hoping that today you get the binding on the table runner…hey it’s a small piece so will you finish the binding by machine or by hand? Just curious…

Good morning all. It's a nice sunny day here and not awfully cold.
The cancer that my niece's husband has, although a skin cancer is one that spreads fast to other organs. Usually spreads to the brain and lungs. So God has been at work in Bill's case. It would be great if it didn't come back but if it does hopefully it can be successfully treated again. In most cases, according to reliable medical sites online, when it recurs treatment is mostly always unsuccesful. And yes many men over 50 or so have prostate cancer and never have a problem and don't die from it and I'd bet that my brother does not die from this. Some do though like OJ Simpson who died from it last week. That's definitely not the norm though. Most don't even have to be treated in any way.My oldest brother also had prostate cancer, was treated by implanted radioactive seed implant. Died of a heart attack

Hello Ruth - I hope your foot is feeling better today. I also hope you can get those yarn kits made up to have for after your DH's surgery. He is fortunate to have your knowledge and experience to ensure that the doctors get all the necessary tests done. Ginny - I'm happy to hear that your machine is working well, hope it does when you try some free motion quilting too. Hope you enjoyed the gardening and that you don't have any problems with the chipmunks. It's cooler here today, in the low 50s and cloudy. I went out this morning to go check on my house. I was hoping that the company I hired to cut the grass might have already come, but they hadn't. They should be there tomorrow or the next few days. I won't know they've been there until I go to the house again, unless they contact me to let me know the grass was done. I did finished putting the binding on my table runner and have it out enjoying it. I attached it by machine. The only time I'd do hand stitched binding would be on a hand quilted piece or if I made an heirloom quilt (which isn't likely). I also picked out most of the fabrics for my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks, I'd like to get them done before the end of the month. And I need to get back to the jelly roll quilt. Hopefully I can finish these projects in April. Take care

Ruth, will add Bill to my prayer list and hope that he is one of the rare cases where the cancer does not return. As far as OJ goes, he was probably one of the arrogant types who felt he did not need to have his PSA checked.
CJ- glad you finished the table runner and are pleased enough with it to have it out!!!
I just finished the quilt and will be giving it to DGD tomorrow….on to another project in a day or so.

CJ, I'm glad you have the table runner out and are enjoying it.I know that there have been some things that you made that you didn't particularly care for. I hope your lawn people get the grass cut soon. I need to find a company that will cut mine.
Ginny, that is a beautiful quilt! I know your dgd will love it for years. It'll be a family heirloom.
