People over 60 have a different metabolism than those who are younger, and weight loss gets harder as one ages. This thread is for us.
Join us! Share your ideas, your successes, your frustrations. Offer support. Get advice from folks who are on a similar journey.
Our challenge is to stay on plan, exercise and keep trying to lose weight while improving our overall health -- and maintaining a positive attitude!
Think about where you were and how you felt when you made the initial decision to join The Senior WW Challenge. Close your eyes and remember when you said to yourself “Enough is enough and I’m getting in shape!” On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you? You really need to be an eight or higher! If not, you should probably reevaluate your thoughts and feelings about regaining great health in your life.
If the thread has not been started for a day, and you are ready to post, feel free to get us started.

I am putting some pee pads on the porch carpet as we think Rosie might be peeing out there as it felt damp to me so don’t know if it’s from the high humidity or her peeing and the only way to find out is to put pee pads out there. If she is I guess I’ll have to shorten the time span between times of taking her out as I have to remember she is older and has had many litters so she might not hold it well during the day but she’s fine all night.
Yesterday she wanted to play so I said why don’t you ask Daddy to play so she headed in his direction and he got down to play. He uses this time to also sneak in some quick pats as she’s so involved with playing she doesn’t realize he’s doing it!

Good morning. Cleaning girl is coming but I don’t know what time. Normally this would be bridge day but we canceled last Monday and today. I need to empty the dishwasher and stack up things on the desk. I usually work on filing while she is here . I have a lot of that to do.
Karen C glad your trip was good .

Good morning.
We're in the last two days of Passover. This year is flying 🪽 by!
I need to have my brake light checked. Sam was pulled over by a policeman saying that our back left brake light was out. It seems to be fine now which is odd that perhaps the bulb is beginning to go. He didn't get a ticket or anything...
I'm going to try to call my mechanic this morning and see if he can take a look at it.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. Yesterday was a beautiful day and today is looking like a duplicate. My old hand blown rain predictor shown no chance of rain at the present time. Ging to get my tomato plant and peoney in the ground today. Also the lenten rose needs to be planted althought it is doing fine in the pot. I'm hoping to get rain before the week is over. I do need to spray the weeds which are growing "like weeds". Looks worse every day. Not quite done with the inside, but the outside can't wait. Terry, one of my handimen, should come this week to take out some bushes in the back that I am not particularly fond of. I would like to make that a flower garden. I also have some artificial plants that have solar lights in them. I want to replace them with real plants and my friend Sally said she would like to have the artificial ones. I also have a mop for her. Guess its time to get moving and accomplish things, not just plan.

Good morning!
Karen C I didn’t realize you’d gone to Wyoming until I looked up Casper. The sights you can see are so different than here in the midwest.
It rained another 1 1/2” last night in the night. It was noisy. But last evening was lovely and we got a nice walk and a good visit with the next door neighbors.
Today is DB Marvin’s birthday so I’ll call soon. I have other phone calls too, ugh.
Sundays are my bad eating day, I’m sure because I’m bored. Today I’ll be better.

Just checking in. I am bringing my car in to be serviced later. Still working on straightening up stuff.
Another gorgeous day so it will be good to get out. If I have time, I will go to Hilton Head to try on an outfit I liked in one of the stores.
Happy birthday to Marvin, Sharon!

Surprise, suprise, I have a Trivia Question for you today. Although guess I need to get up earlier as most of you have already visited the site today. I used to get up much earlier but I have trouble filling some days so just stay in the cozy bed longer.
QOTD: Ok, What country song is written with all Bible verses and who sings it. Will post answer later this afternoon
No rain here yesterday or last night. Sharon you must of picked up what we missed. They are saying more rain this week but just chances and ours haven’t been that great. I am mowing some lawn this afternoon, not sure Rob wants me to but he does have the mower ready. He says it’s to wet but I will wait until afternoon and mow the flatter places. Ha, my yard is no where flat.. The less hilly places might sound better.
Geri what kind of shrubs are you having removed. As I took my walk through the timber yesterday there are wild flowers, grape hyacinth, blue bells, little ferns everywhere, mayapple plants, some other little ground cover plant I can’t remember the name of, has purplish leaves, and a tiny blue blossom. I do I’ve some of that closer to the house buy the old dinner bell pole. Found no mushrooms, haven’t for a few days. I think that purple plant is Bronze Beauty Ajuga.
Tomorrow is town day. May look for a new weed trimmer. Yes, I bought a new one but don’t think it as powerful as the old one. Won’t hurt to have an extra on hand. Will look at cost first.
I have been trying to stand on one leg for 30 seconds each day for better balance. No I am not good at it yet but think if I keep doing it I will get better at it. Need to strengthen my right leg at the same time.
Have a great day waving to everyone. Glad you had a great poetry session Karen C.and a ride for Bill. Carolyn, sorry you have to travel back and forth to Phoenix, I didn’t enjoy those long medical drives either. (((Hugs)))

Greetings:
To be a busy day today! The cleaning ladies are here. Hope yours arrive when it's convenient for you, Jane. I know that we are so fortunate in our cleaners. They always check the night before they regularly come to make sure of the time to come and they pull up outside 5 minutes before they are due. They clean very well. They also clean for a friend. Her husband says they are the best cleaning crew they've ever had!
I'm going to cut some lilacs and bring them in today. We actually have leaves (is that what they are called?) coming up. they are Iris. Today our drip system is getting turned on. I think it's too early because we continue to have snow. Most people here consider Mother's Day as the time to turn on the water, change out the storm door screens, etc.
Need to add up the $$ from the weekend. Some years we lose money but even though this was a bare bones workshop, I think we came out okay.
I'm going to walk to my Monday exercise class and I need to draft my paragraph for the voting letters. they aren't due back until October, but I still want to keep on top of my "assignments" because they will keep rolling in. I'm picking up postcards to write a sentence on and then send out. I volunteered to do Arizona. Their laws are tight and don't permit any mailings bought by any of the voting groups. The groups aren't for any party, but just encouraging people to get out and vote. From that I take it that Arizona doesn't want people to be encourage to vote! Anyway, I some of them to do.
Anyway, as someone said, it's better that I get with the tasks for the day than just write them.
Karen E. I cannot imagine any song that is just Bible verses. I'll be interested in what song that is and whose it is.
Our poet had put a few poems to simple tunes and they were so different to listen to.
Geri, in reading your post I skipped a line and it didn't make sense! Made me laugh.
Hope to be back later.

Karen E. I have no idea of the answer
Kristin arrived about 9:15 and was gone before noon. She was telling me about her French bulldog puppy. Quite an expense. Needs to be spayed and have surgery that helps with breathing. She does ok and is prompt and pleasant and so I am happy with her but Juanita was so good at cleaning and so bad at depending and I never understood her. Had her for years and always wrote check but she always called me Janet!
With no bridge today I seem at a loss as to what to do. I am giving up The Fury book and don’t understand how it is on the best seller list. I have read 100 pages and can’t see wasting my time to read another 300.
I am going to work on that jigsaw puzzle which has me thinking I should pitch it, too. I seem to be in a giving up mood.

Good afternoon all. Wordle 1,045 3/6
⬜⬜⬜🟨🟩 🟩⬜🟩🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
It's been raining off and on all day today but it looks like the sun is trying to shine now.
The HVAC tech should be here soon to inspect the central AC for the year. We haven't had to turn it on yet but I thought we might have to yesterday since it got up into the mid 80s. Thankfully there was a nice breeze so just opening the windows kept the house cool.
Denise sent me a video this morning of Maya. The poor kid had oral surgery today to get 3 baby molars removed since they weren't coming out on their own. She woke up all loopy and crying that her tongue was gone! She kept asking everyone if they had it. It was kinda funny and I'm sure she'll be laughing and showing it to her friends at school tomorrow.
QOTD: I have no idea what the answer is but now I'm curious.

Ah to have a cleaning lady. But I am still able to do it. I was down on the floor cleaning something today. When I got up I told myself ah ha you can still do it. I realize many of you have busier social lives than I. www.facebook.com/groups/595600857510529/permalink/1624053631331908/we have a lovely park in our little town. It has a swimming pool, baseball and soccer fields and disc golf. It does not have a stream. Until today. We’ve had a lot of rain.
