We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 52 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Sept 1, 2024. You can find us on wwmessageboard.freeforums.net at wwmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/12/challenges
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date and will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members may join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Sept 1, 2024, is "250 Miles by Feb. 1, 2025."

God Morning!!
I added a 2 mile WATP, yesterday.
Sadie had a better day yesterday and had her first dose of insulin last evening. One of my co-workers worked for my last night so I could pick it up at the pharmacy. I'll do her shift Thursday evening.
Cait: Good job on your HHs and miles. Enjoy your time researching your ancestry.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

WEDNESDAY!
KELLY -- thanks for the October start! Glad Sadie is having a better day. Needing insulin only 2x/month shouldn't be too terrible. Good job with your walking, as usual.
CAIT -- Your brother sure has a lot on his plate, but I'm glad to hear Zach's doing ok. Hopefully the others will be, too. That would help ease his mind.
Catching up: Sunday, Monday, and today I went to water class & stretched. Yesterday I intended to walk, but my hip (!) was bugging me, so I went to the pool and did some exercises and stretching on my own. Weirdly, my hip is feeling much better today. Phew.

Yesterday was a busy work day sort of like โWhack-a-Mole,โ dealing with things not on my โto-doโ list. I had been focused on not doing post-WI overeating on Sun or Mon, but I let down my guard on Tues. In the evening I gave in to the urge to finish off the smallish amounts of chips, crackers, and 2 other snack foods. At least I stopped and did JGTB. Some of it was stale and not so great. I started doing โSnack on Inspo,โ but gave up on finishing it. Another lesson re-learned. Stick with the plan, one day at a time.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 2 miles Tue-Wed. Busy days so only ended up having time to fit in 1 mile WATP each day.
Today will be the first day it isn't going to rain in almost 2 weeks.
Tuesday I worked then we went to a viewing for a Church member. He was a mechanic and his own roll back rolled over him and he did not make it.
Yesterday, I did wash, took Sadie to the groomers, ran to pick up another screen for my new job, then went to DGS football game.
Carol: Good job on your water class and stretching. Hope the hip problem does not return. Sadie actually needs her insulin twice a day.
Cait: Good job on your HHs and miles. Glad you were able to stop with the snacking and JGTB.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

Good morning!! I added 2 mile WATP. I did get outside a little at lunch for a little stroll but did not count. The sun finally came out.
Today is my last day at the office. I will miss my work family but not all the call-offs. It will be nice to sleep in later and not have to travel.

TGIFRIDAY!
CAIT -- good job with your HHs and walking. That's a lot of baseball!
KELLY -- 2x/day insulin sounds more like it. Good luck! Glad the sun came out, but we could use some rain in these parts! Good luck with the new position; I know you're happy not to have that daily commute!
Thursday was a DOR, but I swam laps today and stretched in the pool. It felt great! I still can't swim the entire 1000 yards without stopping, but my breathing is much better than it was.
Have a good weekend, everyone.

Good Evening, Challengers
Yesterday Fri I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my ๐ zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 22 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My โKISSโ HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: ๐ - No โsecondsโ with snack: ๐ - No eating out of a container: ๐ - Limit phone after 9 pm: ๐ - Evening: โSnack on Inspoโ; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: ๐ - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): ๐ - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: ๐
Iโm getting over a head cold, slept 8 hrs the last 2 nights. Iโm still stuffy but feeling better.
This am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop. Without WW posting a weekly article, the topic just doesnโt sink in. We had a good discussion though.
KELLY - Sorry about Sadieโs diabetes diagnosis and more prescriptions to fill. GJ with the 2 mi Tues-Wed and 2 mi Thurs. Rain daily for almost 2 weeks can sure get old. Thatโs great that you now can WFH, sleep in and avoid the commute, but I bet it will take a while to get used to the lack of social interaction. I think youโre more social than I am and that will be a loss - except of course for the call-offs! Your Wed sounds very busy. That accident that killed your church member sounds bizarre.
CAROL - GFY with the Sun-Mon-Wed water classes, Fri lap swim and stretching. Yay, you with the improved breathing!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Sunday!
Phew! The wind finally stopped blowing! We've been in a "red alert" warning for a couple of days, so hopefully the worst is past. We need rain, though!
CAIT -- Good job on (most of) your HHs. Remind yourself why you should do your PT/ST, though. I believe runners prefer cool, cloudy days, so sounds like your weather was perfect for them. I can't quite make out what the bricks in the walking path spell out, other than "ER." Could you tell me?
KELLY -- I think you start your new position this week -- good luck!
I just got back from water class and stretching.

Good Morning!!
I added 5.73 miles Fri - Sun.
The office had a good-bye luncheon for me on Friday.
The weekend was pretty laid back. I had some blood work done for the thyroid and it has not really changed yet. I see the endocrinologist next week. Took Sadie to vet for a check-up Saturday morning her blood sugar was 127.
Sunday after Church was mostly a DOR other than I took a walk.
Today is my first day with the new position. Thanks for the good luck.
Cait: Good job on overall good days with your HHs and walking your miles.
Carol: Good job on the swimming laps, stretching, and water class. I am sure with time you will be able to swim long distance without stopping.

Monday, Monday!
KELLY -- Sounds like you had a good weekend, with some walking, church, and DOR. Nice!
This afternoon I plan to do a little shopping, mainly for my sister's birthday gift, since we'll be gone. Of course, if I see something I "need" for the trip, I just may have to pick it up. wink, wink
I went to the morning water class & stretched in the pool.
