Ruth, double thickness of fleece is CRAZY warm. I made myself a blanket for my bus from double thickness fleece, and its very very warm for when I cannot run the bus but its cold out.
Phyl- let us know what you hear about that accident. I will pray that there were no serious injuries.

the news doesn't have much information. nothing has been released they did say one died.rumor is he pull dover to get out of his car and was hit by the pick up truck. that's what some guy told somebody walking by our car. we had to go slow because of people on the over pass. had we known we would have taken another road to get home.

Ginny, I haven't looked at those squares in a long time so I'm not even sure right now what they look like. I know they aren't granny squares. So right now I don't really have a plan. I'll have to look at them and refresh my memory and decide what to do. They have so many ways of joining squares. I don't know how many there are either but it's one of those old paper shopping bags with the jute cord handles which were really large so I imagine there are quite a lot of squares in there.
PHyl, I hear of so many mva deaths that I hate to even go out anymore.
Ginny, I'm glad you have a gift card to purchase the supplies with. When I went to the quilt class the instructor didn't tell us what we needed until our first class then she took us into the shop and had us pick out our fabrics. I dont' remember now if we were allowed to bring our own rotary cutters and matts or if they were supplied. I don't remember about the thread either in fact.It was only a quilt top and I still don't have it finished and that was back in 2003 or 2004.I supposed I should finish it and use it for something.I still have a lot of the fabric left too.
I revised my pattern using the extended single crochet. The stitches, even though a little taller than a regular single crochet, are still not very tall so it takes a lot of rows so I ended up doing v stitch for most of the blanket with the esc at each end (since I already have about five inches of esc rows done) I'm almost done with it so will start the 3rd blanket tomorrow.
I hope you all have a good sleep and I'll see you tomorrow

Good afternoon!
Phyl, what a sad story about that woman on the interstate. It's all too common a story these days- speed is usually a factor. It's in a sad way interesting that both vehicles that hit her were large, and probably driven by inexperienced drivers. In the commercial drivers manual (which you need to study to get a CDL) they mention that it's always a really good idea to use a ton of caution around Uhauls - as most drivers are not used to driving something that size. I would think that the same thing goes for campers and motor homes- even if you have driven one of those for awhile it takes a lot of experience before you truly understand the size of the vehicle. Indeed Don is right....using an extra measure of caution on the roads is in order now. Excessive speed and texting are causing a lot of heartache. Hope you had a great time in your playpen getting ready for your sewing day.
Ruth, indeed you will find a good way to join those squares. Surely there are tons of ways to join squares on the internet.. I will have to check out the extended single crochet online....but you sure sound as though you know what you are doing with it! Of course you should finish that quilt top you started in 2003!!! What size was it? With a family as large as yours I am sure someone would love to have something you quilted.
Got all my supplies assembled for tomorrow, and was beginning to walk into the self doubt zone....they of course inform you that if you do not bring your own machine you will be using a pfaff of baby lock- both of which are $800 machines. My singer cost half that....and of course they also mention a few fancy attachments. GLad I did my homework, as my machine has those fancy attachments and should do just fine tomorrow. I will be buying the fabric there (also with the gift card)- they will be holding aside a few charm packs for me to choose from. I am looking forward to the class- hope that I can keep up with it!!!
It's warm here, but breezy. All in all not a bad day. Hi to CJ and Meg. Happy Crafting Ginny
