JoAnne,, Atlanta grounded all flights so DD got. Stuck on the runway in Jacksonville waiting to get clearance to take off--that caused her to miss her connection so I have to pick her up near midnight instead of 7:15. Ugh. Guess you had some bad weather?
Getting a massage tomorrow at 2:15---really need one---a little knot on left shoulder blade--getting less tight but I am ready to have her attack it. LOL. Plus I am just so ready for one!
Holly, I like my Saturday kickboxing with my favorite teacher who is so amazing but Saturday's class was terrible---no cautions, no expectations for form---was an opportunity for injury at best. And honestly, when I do it with the good teacher, it is just as much a great workout--better really because you really get core and arm strength when done right.
Try watching Passengers, too. We really liked it as well.
Flooding in a few areas of Vegas I guess but rain was spotty---not a drop here. It is dark and cloudy so being hopeful there will be more.
For breakfast I had a sauteed onions from the garden with snap peas and a bit of rotisserie chicken mixed in---was so good---I wanted higher protein without having another egg.
JoAnne, sorry about your accident with your edger--OMG I hope it didn't mess up your car.
The funeral was very moving, my friends mother was 93 and had alzheimers. Her father is 94 and is in assisted living (they both were - my friend moved them in there this past spring). What a very loving and close couple. My friend is now worried about her dad going on without his wife of 69 years.
I went to the shiva last night.
Joan, too bad the kickboxing teacher is not as good as the one you've had lately. It's great you're getting such good results from the body sculpt class. I will keep the Big Sick in mind
Jojo, hope the sprays work on the deer
Holly, so you did a kickboxing class before?
There was torrential downpour last night. There was a huge, dark cloud that covered the city. Too bad it was too late for me to take the car out to be cleaned by the rain, lol.
I volunteered yesterday at the food center yesterday. One of their corporate sponsers was there for their annual volunteering day, a big group of people must have been at least 30 were there. T-shirts and baseball caps were given out to everyone, and the press was there all the major networks, etc.
Today I met friend for lunch at another Asian fast casual - they specialize in noodle/rice bowls and salads. They are growing super fast in PA and have branched out to other states. The woman I met with who started bao-logy said that they have 100 million in investment money and have not made any profit yet. Very interesting. I saw a lot that could be improved on during my visit.
Tonight we'er going to a gallery opening, at the place where SO exhibited in the spring, this is the 3rd opening in this space since SO.
Will go to the gym soon.
Everyone must be busy.
Holly, glad you're in a better mood. Can you go to the kickboxing class more often?
Must get busy and get ready for beach week--so a quick post here. Did my pilates class today which was excellent. DGS16 is definitely going to beach week--DH and I have a plan for using the bedrooms at the house---six bedrooms and 8 beds--we leave Sat morning and will take DGS13 along with DDIL and DGS11. I will have to drive my car as DDIL does not want to drive--can't blame her as she has spent so much of July on the road getting her parents moved to her town of Ely, NV.
DD flying now to Philly, Sue, to pick up DGD13 and fly to LA on Saturday--DSIL will pick them up in Ontario on way to beach. Wishing DGD16 were coming but she has two more weeks.
Must get busy---glad the kickboxing relieved some tension of the day, Holly. Working out does that is it is aerobic I think.
Have not lost any more weight but I am feeling thinner---today another person asked---she said she did not recognize me at first--she has been gone from gym for about 3 weeks. Made me feel really good. I think part of it is my core is just tightening up with all the core work. Have been doing a headstand at home every night--another good core exercise--getting ready for my annual birthday picture on the beach in headstand---started that tradition three years ago at 70. It is harder on the beach as it is not level surface.
Joan - have a great vacation - wonderful to be with family, I'm sure! Yes, we have had storms here off an on all summer - strange weather
The sprays I ordered from the site Joan recommended came today - not a day too late! My poor hydrangeas are just stems in some areas! They ate all the flowers off my Lantana AGAIN as they had just replenished. There are spots on my lawn in front of the plants where they are p--ing on the lawn too. I tried the spray that has the garlic first because it should last longer than the other. We will see!
Walked 3mi. with my neighbor.
Made homemade chicken rice soup to take last night to my Bridge friend that had the serious liver surgery a month ago. She has lost 15 lbs. and looked so pale. Her voice is weak too but she says that she feels better every day. Went to see her with my other Bridge friends. She has not been wanting many visitors. We will go again in about 2-3 weeks. Thinking that maybe then we can take her out to lunch near her house if she feels like it. I am so worried about her.
I have been working in the yard a lot lately and have really enjoyed it. Love my friends Sr. condo - it is beautiful - but I would miss my yard soooo much.
I am sorry. About. Your friend, JoAnne. Hope she gets better so you can take her out. I worked in back yard from 6:30 till 8 this morning---by then it was full sun, humid for here, and about 90 so gave it up but I got so much done---deadheaded the big plot of galardia and scabiosa and cut all the dead spike blooms off the agapanthas both front and back, weeded my whole garden, and trimmed the burned parts off the aralia in the front---and got it all in garbage in time for pick up. Took a shower and headed to the gym for dance and weights. Then hit three stores---a few things to take tomorrow and some cat supplies. Luckily I had taken an apple with me to the gym or I'd have been famished. Just downed a cup of soup. I bought big peaches at Costco--two boxes of 12----OMG, they are ripening just perfect and are delicious. Having one with a bit of cottage cheese.
We all made it. To Newport Beach--new rental is nicer than the last one----kitchen. Is way better--counter top space is generous so more than one can prep at the same time which is great. DGS16 did come as did Jordan--the kids are teasing that he is the favorite grandson--he handled it well--laughed and said, Oh, cool. My kids tease a lot.
So tired---drove all the way as did DH--this place has a huge garage and we have enough space to fit all four cARS--LUCKIly two are small cars. Parking is usually such a hassel.
Molly and DD left Philly this morning, flew into Ontario airport here and DSIL picked them up on the way down to the beach. It rained on them at Target--where they bought a new duffle for linens and pillows because Molly's zipper broke--while switching things the downpour hit and the suitcase items got all wet! But they made it to flight.
