Happy New Year to my friends here! Thanks for starting us Amy! I am SO ready for a fresh start in the new year!
Brenda, my goal this year is also 60 pounds! Actually it's my secondary goal, my primary goal is to be kinder to myself. Which involves cutting myself some slack for being so heavy but it also means treating myself with respect by exercising regularly and eating wholesome foods, getting enough sleep and appreciating how fortunate I am to have a loving family, stable job, great salary, my own home and nice nieghbors!
I received some very sad and frankly, shocking news this morning. My cousin's wife of 28 years passed away in late November. She was only 54 and super fit and healthy. They have 2 daughters. I saw her last winter at my uncle's funeral and as far as I new she was fine. That's 5 people that I know between 50 and 60 that have died in the past year.
I'm dealing with my wonky foot issue but otherwise I'm healthy and alive! I need to appreciate and treat my body better! And appreciate all I have.
A little good news too -my insurance actually came through very much at the last minute and I received a bone stimulator device Friday the 30th, that I strap onto my foot every night for 30 minutes. This thing costs around $6000 and if it hadn't gotten approved before December 31, I would have been responsible for $3400 of it! Which I couldn't have afforded, especially not after my $3000 plumbing job 2 weeks ago! But as I had already met the 2016 deductible (with foot surgery, PT, chiro) I'm only stuck with $300 of it, with 18 months no interest, to pay it off. It may be in my head but it already feels like it's helping.

so excited added 2 miles WATP to my 2 miles on treadmill at the gym. Got the right daily food right. I am hoping my 4 miles daily and 1544 calories will help me lose consistency. I have been maintaining basically.

Amy, 39 points is 1544 calories? I could do that! For now I'm on the recumbent bike and weight machines, although I'm going to try the home glider in increments of 5 minutes. If foot is a little uncomfortable at all then I will back off. I'm hoping to be back to spinning classes in 3 weeks, although no standing. If that works out, I'll try walking. I won't up any exercise if I have any discomfort. I plan to hold off running until I've lost at least 30 pounds.
Thanks for being here you all! I feel very excited now about making this year the year I get my health on track again!
