Good morning! I'm up early for no reason except I woke up. Starting my coffee and looking for the newspaper.
Putting out toasted english muffins and fresh fruit for everyone. Starting the year off right!

Good morning and Happy New Year. I actually made it past midnight! Working on my plan for the day. I have all healthy options but am not sure what I want. Waiting for a call that there is a cancellation for today's special spin class and I can get in.

Good morning and happy new year! dawn, I hope you feel better soon. I'm planning to go out for a walk this morning (gotta start the year by hitting my Fitbit goal!) and then going to my sisters' house for a Hanukkah party. This should be the last eating event for a while. I'm looking forward to getting back into my regular routine for January. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning....J is off today and (of course) subbing somewhere else....however, it's an Episcopal church, which is our denomination, so I'm rolling out the door, as linda72 said, "to start the NY right." No question I enjoyed my Sundays mornings at home this Fall. We had a lovely dinner out, those Argentinians know how to cook, J went with beef, but I had a fantastic salmon with red pepper salsa, an avocado with mango salsa, quite the 💃 to start the year. Also had a fantastic side, Purée Porteño that was mashed sweet potato and butternut squash....who knew? So good. The scale stayed true, so now must navigate our salty food for the day.... pbnj's chili is on the menu! Have a good one, Friends, and a very Happy New Year. (Feel better dawn!)

Happy New Year! Partied with our friends until after midnight then came home ("party" is a very loose term---just the 4 of us, reminiscing about our 35 years of friendship, watching youtube videos and toasting the new year with non-alcoholic beverages!) Oh, and eating...and eating...lots of really BAD sweet and salty stuff!
Got on the scale this morning and nearly had a heart attack. Saw a number I haven't seen since September! Those darn cookies, chocolate and last night's salty indulgences have shown their ugly head. Am trying not to go into panic mode!! Trying to figure the best mode of attack for today. Lots of water---did a short TV aerobic routine and climbed the stairs 5 times. Now planning a low point breakfast. Breathe...don't panic...ignore the remaining cookies and bags of Fritos and Cheetos that hubby insisted on bringing home... UGH!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Thanks for kicking us off diva49! Welcome dawn and marchby!! pbnj, two things. Tell your DH to take everything and put it in his office or a high shelf, just out of your sight. Forget that scale number. It is the alcohol, salt and sugar bomb, it is temporary. Don't let it discourage you, deep breath and don't weigh again until Wednesday. Have a great NY day everyone

Happy New Year everyone.
It sounds like most of you have a plan. I haven’t decided on the day’s activities yet. There are no social situations planned today, and I was in bed before 10 PM last night, so there shouldn’t be too much damage showing on the scale tomorrow morning.

Happy New Year to All! Stayed home but stayed up until 0100. Had my allowed snack and ONE glass of wine (major victory for me) and actually kept to my calorie limit for the day. Plan for today is to stay on course.

Good morning. My scale keeps going the wrong way too, partly because I'm on prednisone but I can't blame it all on that. It's partly my own doing too. Today is a fresh start though, so I'm at least going to give a good shot at stopping that rise, and hopefully lose some of it.
Today will be a Christmas/New Year's celebration since Christmas was interrupted by a major snow storm. But it sounds like we will have kind of a small window for celebrating today too. Tonight there is the possibility of another storm. I'm going to have dinner early so my grandson can head back into town before it gets nasty.
I stayed up until midnight last night, watching recorded TV shows and sipping on a couple glasses of wine. About 2 minutes after midnight I heard a couple of coyotes howling in the New Year.
Wishing everyone a very happy New Year.

Good morning, everyone! It was quiet at my house and my hubby and I went to bed at 10 pm. We had an invitation to my neighbor's last night, but hubby didn't want to go. I would have liked to go, but I'll admit that it would have been hard for me to last until midnight. I'm one of those early to bed types.
Both hubby and I talked at length last night about getting back on the diet and exercise wagon. It starts today. The only non-diet food we have left in our house to eat is Wiener Schnitzel. After that, it is all light cooking. I have ingredients for a Cooking Light recipe and I'll be having fun cooking other things from that magazine too. I love it! And salads, salads, salads!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone has a good Sunday to enjoy the new possibilities.
I watched the movie Brooklyn (very good) and then went to bed to finish my book. I was done just before midnight so got up and turned on the TV and saw the countdown and then went to bed.
Got up this morning later than usual and had the idea to start taking down Christmas. I never plan it but just know it is time to tuck it all away. So while doing laundry, breakfast and sipping coffee I started putting things in boxes and bins. I may leave the tree up to see the lights again and the window candles can stay as long as the batteries last.
Happy Sunday! 2017 has begun! Oh...need to change my calendars!
