Phyl, I saw on tv that the Wendy's Frosty is 50 cents for the summer. Is that what you had. We used to get those all the time but they've gotten so small.I do want to get one next time I'm out.I think I mentioned that I stopped there last time I was out by myself. I thought of getting a frosty but I got the low cal lemonade instead. Turned out senior drinks are free.It was good too.
I haven't done any crafting yet today but am going to do some in a minute. I've been looking online for prices of batteries for dh's atv. His battery seems to be not holding much of a charge. I'm making another doll blanket but just using the Linus Project pattern for the sideways shell. It's so easy and nothing can go wrong. I really need to get busy on the booties I intend to make for the expected great grandaughter and I saw a cute hate I want to make for her too. I was going to start the beginning of July but here it is now the middle and I haven't started on those yet.But I don't think they take long. Still I want to get these doll things done too by the end of August.Baby things need to be done by the first.I'll finish this blanket then do those.
Oh I haven't gone to the links CJ posted yet. I'm going there now.
Ok I'm back. I love the table runner but I clicked the quilt square link and it wouldn't connect.

Had trouble loading the grandmas kitchen blocks....what is the secret? I got to the page ok, clicked Grandmas kitchen and nothing came up.
Super yucky weather here, hazy hot and humid. Just got my walk in, so now I can stay inside.
Have a great day Ginny

Yes i did what Phyl said, put in the first part but when I went to the site and clicked grandma's kitchen it did work for me.
Now I need to get my brain functioning and decide what needs to get done today. One thing is decided where to plant the plants I bought the other day.We have lots of space but none that is a good place to put them. Our soil is very hard and full of actual rocks.

Good evening! Thanks for the help getting around the I love quilts web site, I used the link Ruth provided and got through just fine. Guess my favorites were #6 and 19. I liked 19 cause it reminded me of the table runner a woman at my table made. Someone had a block in Red and Green that was pretty too. Thanks to all of you for helping me look at all the pretty blocks.
That being said, while I was earlier unable to get the grandmas kitchen blocks, I did go back to see the solstice quilts. Funny how some color combinations that did not look all that great in a single block were striking in an entire quilt.
CJ- especially this time of year you should have no problem finding a nice gingham to border that quilt top! Hey, your email address begins with a "y" and is very short, right? If so I can send you a picture of the table runner...a few months ago you shared your email address with me. Indeed it is hot...yucky.....assuredly not my weather either. For me, they say cooler temps are coming this weekend, are yours supposed to drop then also? Hope so!
Phyl- so glad you got a nap in!
Ruth, were you able to figure out a good place to put the plants?
No crafting today....Dh decided he REALLY liked my table runner and I am considering making a second one. We got a new wireless router and printer/scanner/copier which took WAY too much time to set up. But now I can scan my mom's pics....and share them with my kids and my sisters family. Also got the car inspected- so while I did not do much fun stuff it was productive.
Hope Meg nad a great day.....I know she checks in later on.

I did a little crocheting and plan to do more this evening. Dh offered to take all these bags out to the car when it cools off some. I'll be glad to be rid of them.
I found the yarn today that I mentioned when CJ asked about old yarn. This is fine baby yarn that I was using to make the blanket for my cousin's baby before she was born. She is now 44 years old. I had finished just one row I guess unless I got rid of what I had started back then but I do think this is all the yarn from that kit. It's acrylic so I'm sure it's still good. I'll use it to make some of the doll clothes
Ginny, that's a great idea to make a second table runner. When our dh's like something we made, we know we made something really nice. It does sound like you got a lot done today.I always hated having to get my vehicles inspected. They seemed to always find something that needed to be done that was really expensive. At least back then it really did seem like a scam to me. One year they told me my 10 month old car needed to have brake work. And they always made us have headlights adjusted and new windshield wipers even if we had just got new ones. That's why I still don't trust auto mechanics even at dealers.
CJ, the plan you have for the borders on that quilt top sounds like it will be very lovely. I'm sure you'll find the fabric that is just right.I saw on the weather channel that it's very hot and humid in your area. I hope it cools off so that you feel better.
Meg and Phyl, maybe we'll see you both later. I hope you're both having a good evening.

Good morning!
Ruth, glad you located that yarn...and making doll clothes from it is a great idea. We promise not to tell your cousins 44 year old baby that you are using left over yarn from that era! You mentioned that the yarn was from a kit....gee do they still make afghan kits like that? Cannot remember what company I bought my first afghan. "Kit" from, it was a baby ripple. It's lots of fun picking out our own yarn, but sometimes a kit is very liberating too..they make all the decisions. THink it was Mary Maxim- the name of the company I bought from. Did you get some crocheting in? And did Dh get those bags loaded into the car?
I short circuited the system and changed my wiper blades myself the day before the inspection. And we had our brakes repaired just before we went on vacation, so the mechanic (who is also the person who did the inspection) could not find fault there. BUt indeed, I remember all too well when they would find ANYTHING wrong with your car just to make a few extra dollars off the inspection. How sad. Years ago.....when I was a teenager and my dad was still alive, he used to send me to get the car inspected. THen we lived in New Jersey where you went to a specific state run inspection station and had to wait on line to go through the process. Of course they checked light adjustment and function, tires...but at one point you had to leave your car and let the inspector drive it for a few feet to check the brakes. My dad, who was the king of keeping a junker running on rubber bands, band aids and duck tape used to instruct me to wear a short skirt or shorts when I took the cars for inspection and to smile at the inspector! Dunno if that ever really worked, but I never had a car fail inspection! Ha ha ha. (And please do not be offended, my Dad was an intelligent, loving and caring man who meant no harm to me).
Ok. Got no crafting done but I did look online to see if I can get another charm pack like what I made the table runner from. WIll probably have to go to Quilters Atttic to get it, as I am only seeing it on amazon, who I am trying not to patronize.
Babysitting grandkids this am, and have laundry to do. Have a great day! Ginny

Ginny, no offense taken at all. It's funny and so predictable that male inspectors either "oggle" a young woman or see one as someone they can scam. I'm glad it worked in your and your dad's favor.
I think they had inspection stations like that in Pa too. Some of my family lived there and aunt told me that if you had body damage to your vehicle you had to get that fixed too. We don't have inspections here and there are many vehicles here that would never pass.
Well Ginny, according to our criteria you did, indeed, do some crafting. I hope you find the charm pack you want and like.
Well better go. Expecting company so will be back later.I don't think they'll stay long because it's hot in my house.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Your father sounds like he was fun, I laughed at the advice he gave you for the inspections I'll send you a PM with my email address so I can see a picture of your table runner. Hope the babysitting is going well. Ruth - Hope you enjoy your company today. Nobody would want to be in my house either, it's so hot in here! Meg and Phyl - Hope you are doing well. With all the talk on here about rhubarb I decided to get some at the store today. I stewed it and did half of it with Equal and cinnamon and the other half with strawberries, brown sugar and cinnamon. I loved it!!! I can't believe I'd never eaten it before this week. I will definitely be getting some more. Take care everyone!

Hello everyone
I have had computer problems. Everything went out on Wed evening, computer, I pad and my Nook Someone came out and checked it this afternoon and we are back on line and have Wi-Fi back. I was lost with out even a book to read. Devin had a hard time because he couldn't play his games. I did still have a small problem when we were back on line. But hope it was nothing to worry about.
Iwent to Knit Wits this afternoon. I worked on my b/blanket last night and started a cap which Itook with me this afternoon. It is easy to carry along to work on.
I have read your posts and I am trying to catch up. Another hot day here
Ginny, the reason I don't complain about the heat too much is because I have central air at home and my car has a good A/C. All the sores are well air conditioned so I am not out in the heat too much.
It's past bed time. I will get back to you all tomorrow.

Good morning!
Gonna work backwards here...its easier on my slow working mind.
Meg, well you, dear friend, are not a complainer either! Glad you got to knit wits, a little "Meg time" with friends which is nice. Guess its working out in your new room at the library? Really hope your computer woes are easily fixed. I have spent way too much time in the last week working on ours, and know first hand what a frustrating pain it is. But I guess we should be thankful, because with out our computers we would not know each other! Anyway, what color cap are you working on? Indeed it is a nice easy to carry project.
Ruth, nice to hear that your company was a pleasant visit! Have you made any headway on what to do with all those pretty squares? That sounds to me like a fall project...as I would expect once there are a few squares together it will be a large and heavy project.
CJ- rhubarb is nice, isn't it? It's only available in the early spring and summer here....I guess you can find it frozen in stores. It does freeze ok, but does lose consistency. Check out farmers markets for the stuff, as I would fear supermarkets charge a lot for it. Enjoy!
Babysitting was fine, its been a few weeks since we had to watch the little kids. Dang they can be funny. Rained most of yesterday, but today is sunny and nice. I will be calling my LQS and see if she can get the fabric for another runner- if not I will call the one I took the class at- where I am reasonably sure I can get another charm pack from.
Hope to get a little crafting time in today....and a nice walk. Have a great day- and hope Phyl gets a chance to check in. Ginny
