Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I'm glady you had a nice visit and were even able to get some crocheting done too. Meg - Hope your computers problems are fixed soon. Ginny - I hope you can find another charm pack to do another table runner. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. The humidity is much lower today and there's a breeze so I have my windows open to catch it. I'm glad I lost so much weight because without the extra body fat I can tolerate the higher temperatures No crafting for me today, but I did watch some videos that were done by a quilt store in Virginia. They did a little competition in the store with some of their customers. The projects were interesting and someone is eliminated each week. I think there's one more challenge before they pick a winner. If anyone wants to see the videos let me know and I'll post a link. Take care everyone!

CJ, I'd love to see them. I'm not a person that wants to compete but I love watching others do so. I'm a poor loser.
I'm glad to here the humidity is down where you are and that there's a breeze. I know that feels better. I'm pretty sure that I, too, tolerate heat better now that I've lost weight. Don't know about winter though. I might feel even colder.
I'm going to clean up the kitchen then sit and crochet.
Meg, I hope your computer problems are solved.
Ginny I do hope you find the charm pack. the fabrics you used for the table runner were perfect.
Phyl, I hope you're having a great day also.

Hello everyone,
Hopefully my computer problem is fixed. DS can usually sort things out but even talking wit the service provider he wasn't able to fix it so they sent one of their service people out.
Ginny the cap I am knitting is blue and probably yellow stripes. I have a basic pattern that I have used for years and the pattern comes in 6 sizes so I come up with different caps. It is a good pattern to use odd balls of yarn and I have a lot of left over yarn. I am glad you got to enjoy a visit by your DGkids. It's nice to have them for awhile and then send them home. A lady in my Knit Wits gp. was learning to make table runners and she brought one to show us and it looked very nice. You asked me about Christian authors. Here is one I just finished perhaps you have already read it. Love Blooms In Winter by Lori Copeland. Another book I finished recently was A Texas Hill Country Christmas, by William W Johnston.
Ruth, I am glad you had company visit you and that you enjoyed their visit. That's what I miss living here. When I lived in England my family was able to visit and I was able to visit them. But it is such a long way from the UK to California. One of my brothers came to visit me here a couple of times and his daughter came over 2 times when she was a teenager.
It is hot here as usual and I am staying home. I will get my b/blanket out and work on it and listen to an audio book.
Have a good evening.
cj, I hope you are able to stay cool.
Phyl, I know you are always busy which is good.

Hello to all. All I've done today is clean up the kitchen and crochet and read on the computer. I did start watching the videos, CJ, but then dh came up and I haven't gotten back to them yet. It's hot here and the heat saps my energy plus it makes me feel like not eating and so that saps my energy more.
I hope you are all having a good day and an enjoyable weekend. I'll check back later

Good evening!
CJ- well you had one nice day to enjoy open windows and low humidity. For me it always seems a shame that we wish away these hot summer days, but with high humidity and heat they are intolerable. Fall weather is so nice....hang in there it will be fall before you know it!
Meg, glad that Ds got your computer straightened out, even if he needed help. Glad you got to knit wits....what kind of table runner did your friend bring? Was it knit or crocheted? Many thanks on the author recommendation. I have read Lori Copeland before- not that particular book. Both sound good and perhaps I can get them on CD for when I drive out to my nieces wedding in the fall.
Ruth, we all feel tired and less energetic in the heat. How much longer is it supposed to be hot near you?
BUsy day....got to church and there bumped into a former neighbor (she attended my church today). So I caught up with her, then came home. Seemed like the rest of the afternoon was taken up by some short errands and a visit to Dd#1. Heat and humidity are back here too....so the air conditioner is back on.
No crafting today- but I hope I can get some in tomorrow. Hi to Phyl! GInny
