Or storm the Bastille Day! Sorry I've been awol. Think of you all daily but "hard to show my face when my ass is so big". Don't know if that makes sense to anyone but it's hard to watch/hear success when you are mired in failure. Starting over for the gazillionth time to stay on program! July has proven to be a challenging month. Got thru June by the skin on my teeth and immediately fell into a deep quagmire. Lots of activities, family crap, health issues... also know as L.I.F.E.!!! I just need to learn some new coping skills. Thanks DebDoesWW for sending out the hounds... I'll work on 'faking it' 🙃

pbnj,I hear you! I've tried to lose the June gain from out weekend away and have failed. We can do this together! Had trouble with my old kindle with the battery draining. Talked with customer service twice and they sent a new one yesterday. Now old one seems to have improved, feeling guilty although I had a service warranty... Going to watch Wimbledon, body pump class, errands and probably dinner out.

Good morning everyone! TGIF!! I woke up earlier than I needed to but once I was awake my mind wouldn't stop with the things I need to finish before I leave for the airport today. I could be a tad excited as well! I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone.
Well, here comes a little food porn...last night's dinner which wasn't really dinner...roasted beet & arugula salad with a citrus vinaigrette, shaved fennel, ricotta salata, & red onion followed by steamed mussels app in white wine, lemon, butter, thyme, parsley & a side of carmelized green beans which we split. The green beans were amazing & im sure it had something to do with them being flash fried with onion...all,washed down with an excellent bottle of rose'. Worth every stinking calorie!
Of course, finding something to wear that actually fit to go out to dinner was challenging. I swear I will not spend another summer overweight. Which means the time to get serious again has to begin now.
Anyway, my coffee tastes really strange this morning so I've gotta try another cup.

pbnj, good to hear from you. Hang in there, we're all in the same boat. Together we'll make it! lmenglish, I'm going to Body Pump today also. Maybe I'll see you there! The class Monday was too challenging, I hope today goes better. dina, I hope the hours go quickly before your trip. Know you'll have a great time! sullicat1, your dinner sounds delish! After Body Pump, I'm taking a friend to lunch who had foot surgery. She's still not driving so it will be good to get her out of her house. TGIF!

Good morning....still stuck in the massive humidity, but it's 61 degrees, so don't think I can complain, LOL. We're heading out in a bit for sale shopping for J; always grim with the OCD, but that he is willing to do it is a victory in itself! And a manicure for me as surely a reward for something. Kudos to all pushing the restart button....I hang onto the idea that it will never be easier than today. Safe travels, dina!

Good morning all. pbnj, I'm still here posting with my fat ass! 😀 And I've started over more times than I can count. Posting does keep my head in the game even if I don't follow through. sullicat1, that meal sounds amazing (except for the mussels)! I took today off because I have a doctor appt. I've been feeling lightheaded the past few days so I'm going to the doctor. I saw someone about it back in January but then it got better. Not sure what's causing it but it's very unnerving. I also picked up my first pair of progressive lens glasses yesterday but I'm holding off on wearing them because I don't want to be even dizzier! Happy Friday everyone!

100gone, I hope you get some answers from the doctor; I've had that a lot last summer, but thankfully, it went away. And yeah, progressives take some adjustment!

Good, luck @ doctor, 100. That is certainly an awful feeling.
I tried progressive lenses twice & just couldn't adapt. It was before I retired & im wondering if they would work for me now. I hate wearing glasses but the thought of putting in& taking out contacts makes me cringe. Next month I go back to the opthomologist to be checked for cataracts now that I had the laser surgery taken care of & they can dilate my pupils without any danger. It's always something...getting older ain't for sissies 😏

ksbruns, 100gone, I too have periods of light headedness and then it disappears. I think mine is related to sinus issues. I'll be interested to hear what the doctor thinks. I plan to bring it up at my physical in September.

Pat- so glad your here! I'm with you. I've got some weight I really need to get off, I could make a list of the things that have gotten in the way. But as you said it's LIFE! Let's do this thing together.
Waiting for my kidney stone procedure. I don't go in till 12:30 with procedure at 1:30. Nothing to eat or drink since midnight last night. I am THIRSTY! I told Rick to have a huge ice tea with lemon and splenda waiting for me.
I am pretty sure I will need bi-focals later in August when I see the eye doctor.
Can any of you give me pro-cons of traditional bi-focals versus progressives?

Sending (unsweetened, iced) tea and sympathy to those with light heads who are feeling sensitive about posterior dimensions.
Just remember we are all full of beauty that has nothing to do with dimensions or a number on the scale.
Funny story I heard from my original leader when I first joined WW:
Moral of that store, for me...it's never too late, and motivation comes in mysterious ways. Keep your eyes and ears open and you will get the motivation to continue the journey.

Now the "life report."
I've been threatened by the news weatherman with increasing heat starting today and mimicing Hades over the weekend (again). I will just have to cope because it is book sale weekend at the Library and I can't escape to cooler environs until, perhaps, Sunday.
I've managed to keep the BS within a reasonable range for the better part of the last week. It seems eating larger lunches, smaller dinners, and treating an evening snack as a 4th meal (i.e., calculating and dosing additional insulin for the snack) keeps things on an even keel overnight. Yay.
I have a blood draw on the calendar for Sunday morning for my latest A1C and am very interested in seeing if the number has dropped since I've had the benefit of data from the continuous glucose monitor.
On that note it is time for my 2nd cuppa. I wish everyone a lovely day and a happy weekend.

Can any of you give me pro-cons of traditional bi-focals versus progressives? Ouch on the kidney stone. Hope the procedure goes well and there is little or no pain involved.
Regarding bi-focals/progressives, for me the answer had to do with what I could tolerate and adjust to.
I tried contact lenses in the "old" days when they were made of glass, and I couldn't handle wearing them. Then I tried soft contact lenses when they first came out; I found that my eyes are so dry they sucked the moisture right out of those lenses—I would blink and they would fly across the room. When I needed bi-focals I tried progressives. At the time I did lots of fine pen-and-ink work and the lenses made every stright line I drew look curved. And in general the world looked like I was viewing it through a semi-fisheye lens. So I ended up with bi-focals and, ultimately, tri-focals. It is sometimes difficult to get things viewed through the proper lens, but when I do whatever I see what I'm looking at clearly.
I will note that my Opthomologists have told me that once you go with bi/tri-focals there's no going backwards to progressive, so if you think you want them you should try them first.

Just remember we are all full of beauty that has nothing to do with dimensions or a number on the scale. Zazzles I so agree with this beautiful statement. When I made the decision I would no longer judge myself by a number on the scale everything turned around for me! Progressive lens - the best advice I ever got from my eye doctor - when you get them put them on and wear them constantly for 2 weeks. (didn't mean sleep in them - he said "your brain will take over in 2 weeks. It was hard especially since I was working then but it absolutely was true. All of a sudden it was just like my eyes with no glasses! Marie

hpeterson1951 ,I had progressive and they were great. But I hated the nose pads and finally tried mono vision contacts which I loved. Believe it out not my distance vision improved and I wear one coach to read!
