Short and sweet goddesses is a thread especially for us "Short n' Petite Gals". As "Short n' Petites", we have our own issues. Our goals are lower, and as we all know, a 5-pound loss or gain can make a huge difference on a Short n' Petite. We are here to support and encourage one another, so please feel free to join us!

Just getting us started with the new month.
Went to see the movie Office Christmas Party. It was funny, but stupid. What we needed really.
Sue, exactly...the strategy and creative thought process can be exhausting.
JoJo, I hope you feel better soon. That is a long time to be sick.

Hi all,
Took my tree and decorations down. Also got the house straightened up, etc. That tends to get neglected during the semesters.
I am really starting to get concerned about my BP because it is still borderline on a day to day basis. None of the medications we've tried seem to be working. They just make me feel out of sorts. The only consistent thing I can find is that it shoots up really high when I get nervous, stressed, or claustophobic. Going to try making a habit of meditation, journaling, and other calming techniques to see if that might help some. It may be time to go to a cardiologist.

Yikes Holly. That is scary. Wouldn't hurt to check into it.
I wish I felt like taking Christmas things down - but don't. Maybe I am coughing a little less today. Did have a glass of wine tonight. First in 3 weeks. Have had no taste for it.
Cooked dinner tonight - ham, blackened peas, and Mac and cheese. Guess we had our New Years dinner tonight. Would have made cornbread if I had felt better.
1st is stable at 125.
Raining and quite foggy here today.

Hi!
Thanks for starting the new month, Holly.
Cold and drizzly today, and tomorrow will be more of the same. First thing tomorrow morning I'm off to get bloodwork down and pelvic ultrasound, just regular stuff.
Holly, did you have silly games at the party? It sounds like a good idea to go to a cardiologist. I think breathing exercises can help as well.
Jojo, sorry you've been sick for this long. With the guests gone you can focus on yourself now and hopefully get back to 100% healthy. Ugh my weight was 125 this morning too. So the weight from Chinese takeout dinner on NYE didn't go away.
I really need to focus soon on this because of the cruise! I'll feel so much better if I can lose. I know I can do it, if necessary I'll do the high protein 2 week diet after school is over and right before the trip. I have about 3 weeks between end of school and start of cruise.

JoAnne I hope you start feeling better soon! Such a bummer you've been sick for so long!
Am sure my weight is up more---have been snacking on some chips here and not eating perfect at all! And minimal exercise.
La La Land was not so great---some things were just forced about it---wish we'd gone to the movie with DH and DSIL instead---they liked theirs better.
Very rainy here today---did get out in the back to pick oranges off DD's tree---they are really nice this year because they have had rain for a change---I picked 3 grocery bags full---will take most of them home as there are still tons on the tree that they can eat---I ate one---so sweet and these oranges have such thin membranes in between the sections so really nice to eat! I will take some to BF and to WWBF---the latter' DH really loves oranges. Always take some to him!
Got caught up to present on the tv series The Good Place---the next episode is Thursday=-==it's funny! I really like it. If you can get it on demand I'd recommend it---sort of fun and lite!!
Holly, when you check your blood pressure does your pulse rate go up as well?

Finished prednisone today. Wish I was over this! WAnt to feel better. Cough is looser. Sinuses still draining. Sleeping better.
Taking down window treatments today to get my plantation shutters tomorrow.
Nothing tastes good to me. Just want to eat soup.

Took a bubble bath tonight with candle and a glass of wine. Had forgotten what a luxury a bubble bath is (usually take showers). DH had gone to a men's meeting at church.
Gathered up most of the Christmas decorations, except the tree and the decorations over the porch rail. Will put it up tomorrow. Also got all of the window treatments and hardware down so the windows are ready for the plantation shutters to be installed tomorrow.
Had soup again tonight. I know DH is getting tired of it but it is all I want to eat. Did cook dinner last night but just didn't feel like it tonight.

Hi all,
So glad we have this week to ease back into work. Students come back to campus on Monday, and classes start Wednesday. Trying to do some small tasks here and there.
We're getting back on the exercise bandwagon at work. Since I have a bike at home, I can focus more on weights in the gym. One of my closest coworker friends is interested in maybe doing a yoga class with me, so that will be good. There's a yoga studio downtown nearby.
JoJo, hope you're feeling better today.
Sue, good on the weight. Hope the downward trend continues.

Good evening everyone--JoAnne, bubble bath sounds nice---especially given that you have not been feeling great! I seldom take a bath---hope your cough backs off soon---soup is great for colds but also it's just soup season---I bought groceries to make three different soups today---will start with turkey noodle tomorrow---roasting a half turkey breast tonight which seems to be taking forever so I finally took it out and am doing some asparagus---with a salad---we can eat the turkey near the skin if it's not completely done---but it should be---took way longer than the recipe claimed it would. It's not even three pounds.
We hit IKEA today and bought the two stools we found there in Sacramento---they are an orange leather---I have a feeling they will be the spark that sort of jazzes up the kitchen---we can take them back if they are two sparky---LOL. DH did not put one together yet which shocks me.
Also delivered oranges from DD's tree to BF's and WW BF---chatted a bit which was nice---got some roma tomatoes in return from BF and some more meyer lemons from WWBF---thinking I'll make some lemon curd tomorrow maybe.
I grocery shopped as well---bought a lot as we were out of almost everything!
Hi Sue and Holly---this weekend will be precious for you both!!

Good morning, Still coughing away but a "little" better. Continue to sleep well; so that makes a big difference.
Joan - fresh oranges sounds so good to me! What a luxury - how fortunate are your friends!
Sue and Holly - I guess you are back to school full force. Sue, is this your last quarter? Seems like you have been in school forever now! opps, Sue, just saw you don't start til next week. You, too, Holly! A long break for everyone.
Sue - coongrats on the wt. coming down.
Waiting on the shutter installer. Did not come yesterday as scheduled - some personal problem with him. Hope he shows up today. Scheduled for 9a.m.

Hi all,
So ready for more daylight after work. I can't even walk uptown to get food before it gets dark.
I got a referral to the cardiologist. Hoping to get this BP thing figured out once and for all. It isn't insanely high like it can get when I'm at the Dr's, but it's still not where it needs to be.
JoJo, glad to hear you're feeling better. Are you going to get any snow out of this storm coming through tomorrow night? We're supposed to get 2-4 inches.
