zazzles, as far as bulk cooking I'm talking about cooking a weeks worth of food at one time. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it for WW. I have friends who are seriously into fitness and they do a weeks worth of meals. They cook and prepare every Sunday. So I was just curious if it would feasible to do w/ WW. I'm assuming it would, just a lot of prep at one time. I already do this with salads. large batch of lettuce in a container already washed and pulled, then each item like tomatoes, cucumbers, etc in individual containers so I can make a quick salad at anytime.

Watched Wimbledon, had strawberries and cream, went out to lunch and had tabouli, next grocery store. Made gazpacho and DGD and I made a strawberry lady finger dessert. She got tired of chopping strawberries, ha ha. doordie50 , cracked up at aerial acrobatics zazzles , have not gotten an instant pot, DH would print have a hear attack if I get another kitchen gadget. And I live on tuna furrville2 ,I have not gone the extent that some of the people have gone to of doing weekly meals. I get bored eating the same thing everyday. I have done make ahead salads. But I prep fruit and vegetables over the weekend and whatever I cook for dinner is doubled for a second meal. Also cook several pounds of chicken on the weekend.

Furr, I see no issue cooking ahead & I think a lot of people do it. I don't because I am not a good planner & I would probably feel like I was eating leftovers all the time. I always did what you are doing with the salad stuff & sometimes I will roast a big pan of veggies but I'm not much of a cook to begin with. I tend to eat on the fly but it's better to plan ahead as you are doing.
Mike, I'd like to think my counters looked like I was busy cooking but it's more being lazy & just not putting things away 🙄

thyme2, sorry to hear about your dad. Sending well wishes. My sister and I take care of our 88 yr old mother and I know how tough it can be. doordie50, can't wait for GoT!! furrville2, welcome! Any type of batch cooking will definitely work with WW. I don't prep everything for the week but I do try to prep a lot on Sundays, like making lunches, side dishes for the week, boiling eggs, cutting veggies, etc.

100gone, wooohoooo!!!!! furrville2, Welcome! You can definitely do WW in the batch so-to-speak. The key will be getting enough enjoyable recipes. We make a batch of chili, a few soups, and casseroles. With browned lean ground beef or other as a base, you can add rice and veggies of choice. And don't forget you can use vegetable, beef or chicken stock in your batches accordingly. Your crock pot can help out too with so many additional batch choices. I've only ever batched my dinner meals - those that would yield 6-8 portions generally. Breakfast is generally hot cereal w/fruit and yogurt plus for lunch. I actually think my chili recipe came right out of a WW book. Best of luck to you! sullicat1, your kitchen counter description cracked me up! What ever happened with your hair. Okay Gang - I'm off. Going to rewatch last years season finale before the new season of GOT starts. Have a great night!

thyme2, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! sending love and prayers pbnj, I hope your headache goes away. This is going to sound absolutely crazy, but have you tried rubbing freshly cut ginger on your forehead? I take a preventative medicine every day (Topomax) to help with the migraines, but sometimes one sneaks through. I normally take ginger tea to try and ease things a little. The other day instead of my crystallized ginger, I had actual fresh ginger I was slicing to put in my tea. I remembered something about rubbing it on your forehead. So I figured it couldn't hurt. I took a fresh end, rubbed it all over my forehead and temples. It was crazy but my headache was gone within minutes! I'm going to try it again when I get another one. Oh, and I tracked all day today!

hpeterson1951 Fresh ginger, huh? Like a ginger root? I'll have to pick one up at the grocery store tomorrow. I'm willing to try anything! Normally I can't stand any smells so I don't know if it will bother me but recently I've been using some essential oils and trying peppermint and lavender. I have used Topomax for years but these past few months it hasn't seemed to help much.

Got it.
And...oh, absolutely! I do this all the time, only just for me.
I pick two or three recipes to cook for the week. Although I don't cook them all in one day, there's no reason I couldn't.
Vegetables are a no brainer—whether you roast them or steam them or boil them, cooking them in large batches, dividing into servings, and storing is easy peasy.
Main dishes are, likewise, fairly easy. Some ideas: use a slow cooker to prepare one meal, use a multi-cooker (Instant Pot, for example) to prepare one or two meals. Plan recipes that will feed two people for two meals.
When I know I'm going to have a "cooking day," I will often do a lot of prep the evening before; chop the onions, carrots, celery, etc. Clean other veggies. Do everything I can so that the actual cooking is just adding the ingredients at the proper time.
Let us know if you decide to try this and how it goes.

zazzles , have not gotten an instant pot, DH would print have a hear attack if I get another kitchen gadget. And I live on tuna Linda, it would be worth nursing DH through a heart attack just for THIS recipe which a friend recommended after making it in her new Instant Pot. It is FABulous, and I don't usually rave about many recipes. Instant Pot Chicken Marsala Source: pressureluckcooking.com/recipe/instant-pot-chicken-marsala/2 pound Chicken, breast, raw, without skin or bone 1/2 cup Flour, white all-purpose flour 2 cup Butter 1/4 tsp Oil, Olive, extra virgin 8 oz Mushrooms fresh 1 large Shallots raw 1 Tbsp Garlic Minced 1/2 cup Chicken Broth Low Sodium Canned 1-1/2 Tbsp Cornstarch 1-1/2 Tbsp Water Coat chicken in flour mixed with with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and set aside Hit “Sauté” on the Instant Pot and “Adjust” to the “More” setting and wait for it to read “Hot.” Add the olive oil and 1 tbsp of butter until melted and let sit for 2 minutes Add the chicken in batches and lightly brown for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove, set aside and repeat until all chicken is lightly browned. Chicken should be lightly browned like in the video for reference Melt the other tbsp of butter in the pot. Add the shallots and garlic and stir for 2 minutes and then add the mushrooms and cook/stir for another 2 minutes. All the excess oil and butter will be absorbed by the mushrooms during this time Add the Marsala wine, chicken broth and stir and then add the chicken back to the pot on top Secure the lid, hit “Keep Warm/Cancel” and then hit “Manual” or “Pressure Cook” High Pressure for 8 minutes Quick release when done. Remove the chicken, but leave sauce in the pot, and hit “Keep Warm/Cancel” and then hit “Sauté” again Add the cornstarch slurry to the mixture right away and stir/whisk in VERY well (we don’t want it bunching up), scraping the bottom of the pan as the sauce will begin to bubble and thicken very quickly. Allow for about 2 minutes while stirring constantly and then turn the pot off Add the chicken back into the sauce and coat. Serve on its own or with pasta, spaghetti squash, rice and/or vegetables Enjoy! i tend to only like to batch cook things that reheat well, like lasagna, enchiladas, large batches of meat sauce (like a bolognese), soups. i have found that i don't like reheated roasted veggies, so i won't do large batches of those. i definitely like the make ahead salad ideas as i'm a really big fan of salads and never seem to tire of them.

Thanks everyone for your replies! We were more curious about batch cooking because with my husbands job, he has to eat out a few times a week (sucks for him, he hates it, lol) So something easy for me to heat up. I have several chili, soup and crock pot recipes that I like that would be easy to freeze or keep for a few days. Again thanks!!
