(can you say Gwenth Paltrow and vaginal steaming I haven't heard of this one! I'm really curious and now I'm afraid to google it for what else will pop up but I guess I'll have too. I was immediately thinking of Dr. Oz- He comes out with new vitamins or supplements you should take every day. I did the same thing with trying to write them down for a while. Now I take what I think is good, and if I don't feel like taking them I don't.

Not me. I blame Oprah, "the bread pusher."

+1 vote.

OMB, Deb, I remember those few threads. Made me LOL even now.

Honestly, I perceive WW's message to be all over the map. In my meeting, we've been told stuff that's all over the map. Right now, for instance, our leader has started saying that 2% Greek yogurt is a better choice than fat-free Greek yogurt. That's after years of pushing fat-free everything.
And we've had "clean" and "natural" pushed at us from time-to-time. For example, when PointsPlus was introduced, all of the WW snacks were being pushed as having been made healthier by the removal of artificial sweeteners. Then when SmartPoints came in and the points values for those snacks doubled, they were discontinued and replaced—quietly—with new snacks that magically had the lower points again without the mention that artificial sweeteners had been reintroduced.
I take what I hear from WW not as what's right or best, but what's in vogue and supports their current marketing strategy.

I consider this like carbon credits—the goodness of the organic milk offsets the badness of the Velveeta.
linda72 I really enjoyed the article and the comments from everyone. I agree totally that "clean eating" is mostly hype.
Like so many things I'm finding in today's world, it isn't about science—it's about successful marketing. Someone gets an idea of how to increase sales, initiates a marketing campaign, it takes off like wildfire and a movement is born.
I think that kind of explains so many things.

linda72, haha. I tried to say it. Too funny. But I admit I had to look the story up. I hadn't heard about that one. What's next? Penis Steaming?

But I admit I had to look the story up. Her website, Goop.com is hilarious. She speaks with such authority about everything with no credentials to back up anything. And the clothes she sells are so pricey; $90 for the perfect t-shirt. I don't know who buys this stuff. Certainly not me!

This reminds me of the guy who blew a gasket when someone asked what they should get at McDonald's. Good times, good times! 🤣 I think that was me and I remember exactly who it was. Won't say his name since it might be like saying Beetlejuice. I commented in a thread that I was craving a Big Mac, and you would have thought I announced that I was eating Big Macs for every meal for the rest of my life. Funniest (or most annoying, depending on the day) thing was that he had the worst diet ever.

Zazzles- I agree with you that Weight Watchers does seem to be all over the map. I guess I was just going the old program and my old leader who focused on the no "good or bad".
But I do think they follow "false science" and trends too much.
Off to google Gwenth Paltrow's "expert advice"

Ok, just looked at the Goop website. All I can say is WOW!
It's amazing what people will believe, buy and do, mostly because someone who is pretty and has status tells them to

It might be fun to tell people, "no, I'm a dirty eater" to see their reaction.
