Good morning everyone. Pretty sunny here with a few whimpy gray clouds (fog-ish). It is supposed to cool off a bit today. That will be welcome. I got all of my medical stuff done yesterday: blood test in the morning after my meeting, foot doctor in the afternoon. I'm now good for a couple of weeks when I see the endocrinologist. Had my breakfast: Banana—clean eating...or maybe not because it wasn't organic. Light & Fit Greek yogurt...not clean because it has artificial sweetener in it. Sugar-Free Coffee Mate...definitely not clean but absolutely required! I will be off the the Library soon to wrangle used books. I anticipate that it will be somewhat hectic as several key volunteers have already emailed that they are sick and won't be there. Not the best day for this because I have a foundation board meeting at Noon. I will likely need a nap this afternoon. Yesterday after work and before class I ate a whole thing of strawberries and pineapple. Was that a container of prepared, mixed fruit or a basket of Strawberries and a whole Pineapple? Either way, my body's reaction to that would be the need for a deep sleep—but then I'm one of the resident Diabetics and carbing up does that to me. ale8oneboy, my super secret formula for feeling good is the old "Good Health Guidelines." Way back when WW actually focused on losing weight the healthy way 😆 You mean adjusting your weight as opposed to the current push of adjusting your thinking? Yep, I agree. I honestly miss the water tracking part. PURE water. No, wait...HALF pure water, half non-caffienated beverages. No, wait...ALL fluids count. And my leader keeps spouting the pure water thing even today, long after WW said all fluids count. And does it in a way designed to make people wh drink pure water feel badly about their actions. OH...kind of like that clean eating thing.

I know I'm in the minority but I've gotta admit I was happy when they did away with the GHGs.
The only ones I ever cared about were water and f&v. Back on the old boards, I saw tons of people posting menus and asking why they weren't losing weight. The answer was always "you're missing a teaspoon of oil" or "you're short 2 ounces of dairy!!!" like these were the holy grail. I felt that olive oil shots and milk with added oil were pretty screwed up.
I do agree that WW could provide some guidance on healthy choices but not as prescriptive. Maybe more along the lines of myplate.gov with options for non-dairy, vegetarian, etc.

100gone milk with oil shots?!? Oh man that is nauseating to even think of. I agree to a point. That kind of advice is what turns people off entirely and I certainly don't agree that "missing" something would hamper weight loss. It was more about the fact that people were avoiding things that the body needs because they were too many points and wondered why their hair was falling out, etc..

Exactly lmenglish, tons of people who couldn't eat certain things because of allergies/intolerance and they would be slammed, common sense people, common sense.

I'm in the minority with you,100. Couldn't have cared less about the ghg's & never ever got them all in. Didn't stop me from losing weight & feeling healthy.
Whew, been to grocery stores & Wallyworld, the store I love to hate. I just discovered Enlightened ice cream & see only 1 store carries it. Similar to HaloTop where the whole pint, shud u feel inclined, is between 300-360 calories. I definitely prefer it to Halo, low sugar high protein. I had chocolate peanut butter & there was some serious peanut butter in there! And a few spoonfuls (think small shovel 😉) were very satisfying.
Going with the 3h's today...hot, hazy, humid. We had some wild storm last night.
Lunch time. Later.

common sense people, common sense. If only there could be a GHG for common sense! ETA: I'm sure I'm lacking in this some days...

I never got the all the dairy or oils in. But it was nice to see the progress I made on fruits/veggies and protein. And the few times I did get the oil or dairy I was very happy.
I like using MFP now to double track. Honestly thought it was too much work, but I am seeing the advantages to it.
The only thing I don't like it that it lists all carbs together- no difference between what I see as "good carb" fruits and veggies and "not so good carbs" bread, etc. But I guess the body doesn't really see a difference either, so I understand why they do it that way

You know I think it's possible to see my clean eating as a positive without it judging anyone, including myself. I think it's just a helpful term when I am eating in the healthiest way I can. I was one that always got the GHG's, and that balance of nutrition is still a good thing for me, but like linda72, I've got them down. I figure after floundering around for 35 years (yeah, with those boxes) that I kept going until I figured things out; maybe that's part of the journey is doing it until we do it right....I was definitely one that added oil to oatmeal, but drew the line at milk, 100gone! I also find the new app better than the old one, so I am definitely outnumbered today. Thanks for the props about the doctor doordie50, 100gone, DebDoesWW, linda72. A dermatologist had his way with me, and I'm looking for a mask to wear to MGH tomorrow....you know how *everyone* says that old people are invisible?? I am definitely hoping so!
