I'm IN.
Thteamy. THTEAMY. That's the lisp that I develop when the humidity gets to ridiculous levels. Another H*H*H day on tap today. <thhhbbbpppttt>.
I survived the heat better yesterday, despite sitting out in it for almost an hour waiting for the Kressling; Junior Police Academy dismissed at 4 PM yesterday, not 2:30. No, I did not wait until 4 PM; I went back to work at 3:15 <sigh>. TODAY it's 2:30 pickup.
Must have coffee and get started on the day. I've already got a pot of rice on the stove; some for my breakfast and Toots' dinner, and some for "stock". And I'll prep my lunch so the kidFood doesn't cal my name (not that there's usually any leftovers... just sayin').
Have a healthy-eating day, all!

diva49, I hear you about the humidity...it zaps my energy so quickly. I try to get as much done early in the mornings to avoid it. I'm going with a friend today to a little town 20 miles from here. We'll explore the little shops and stores and eat lunch there. Should be a fun day although pretty hot walking around. Almost the weekend.....hang in there!

I match your humidity and raise you, Japanese beetles! As Deb would say, oi! We are having so much trouble with those little devils! linda72, you are spot on with maximizing the early morning hours, especially during this scary kind of heat and humidity. I got some watering done at 6am. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morn'n peeps. Had a pretty good day yesterday. Down .9 on the scale. Decent eating. Ate a few weekly points to fit in some pizza. But all in all I'm pleased.
I believe my metabolism is returning to normal (between some meds a year or so ago and aging seemed to have messed with it). Much easier to stay on program. Adding in more fruit through out the day seems to be helping and warding off some of the cravings.
Hope all is well with everyone else.

Brutal here as well although today is supposed to be the worst. Still no break until next week expected. Keeping meals light, easy and have planned leftovers to minimize cooking.

Good morning all.
Hot & humid here too. My mouse problems continue. My neighbors kindly let me use their pool while they're on vacation. Last night I came home from work, put on my bathing suit, and went over to use the pool since it was so hot. There was a dead mouse floating in the pool!!! I couldn't even bring myself to fish it out with the skimmer because I didn't know what to do with it. So, no swimming for me. My other neighbor is supposed to be checking the filter and water levels so I'm kind of hoping he'll also take care of the mouse!
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning all.
Early start today, so morning routine is done and it isn't even 7:30.
We've had a bit of a break in the heat this week, but it is suposed to be getting hotter on the weekend. That will curtail outdoor activities or necessitate a drive to a cooler climate—something that's usually possible and easy in the SF Bay Area.
Wishing everyone a great day.

HHH here in the Hudson Valley also. Makes breathing difficult but I'll take it over the 4 letter "s" word.
Dentist @ 8 am & a quick trip to get something for lunch & dinner, not to mention my newly beloved Enlightened ice cream.
100, I hear you re the mice. Last winter I couldn't understand why every night my cat was hanging out by the basement door in hunter mode (& he is strictly an indoor cat). All of a sudden I heard this thrashing & the next thing I know he proudly trots into the living room with a mouse...alive! I never screamed so loud in my life. I even opened the front door hoping Oliver Twisted would step outside with it. Instead, he dropped it & to this day I never knew where it went. And then 2 nights later he presented me with a dead one. I was literally ready to sell my house. I know there have to be more in the basement but I don't see any indication of them. Makes doing laundry down there even more of a challenge. Some people are rather cavalier about having mice (they really are tiny) but I am definitely not one of them.
Well, off to, tidy up the kitchen. Stay cool.

sullicat1, oh yeah, my sweet indoor cat did the same thing, running through the living room with the 1/2 dead mouse in his mouth. Believe me, there was plenty of screaming and swearing! They're small but they just gross me out!

100, I swear I slept with one eye open for a week. I was petrified he was going to bring me a "trophy" & drop it on the bed. If that had happened, I swear my house would have been on the market the next day. So disgusting, yuck.
