Remember me saying how I liked Connect because I only look at posts from those I follow. I try to check in on Kathy's daily post but the first post I saw was of a woman getting a blood transfusion at the hospital. Yes, I have compassion for her and hope she doesn't have cancer, but, no, that is not the first thing I want to see when I open the computer. Like Facebook I can unfollow her. The way I have gotten followers beyond people I know is there is a message that they like my post and want me to follow them. The first one I unfollowed was a man in his Speedos but this too is an issue for me. Otherwise, most of the posts I see are from those who have become WW friends just like those of you here. This post crossed the line for me. I have a friend with AML and she has never had her husband post hospital pictures.

Audrey, that would certainly be disturbing for me.
I'm having a problem with Facebook & all the heartbreaking pitiful abandoned animal stories. All of my pets have been rescues but it depresses me to see this stuff every day.

A pitbull chihuahua mix ended up on our son's doorstep. He posted on the Neighbors app and the person who claimed it said he was taking the dog to the SPCA. Our son got it back. He has 3 dogs and several cats. I told him I would pay for a no kill shelter like our Animal Compassion Team as opposed to the SPCA. He will advertise on Neigjbors to see if anyone wants it.

we have coyotes roaming around the neighborhood at night so i always feel scared for lost dogs and outdoor cats. the cats seem to hide well because i keep seeing all the same cats most of the time, but when i see a sign posted for a lost small dog, those are the ones that i'm hoping someone takes in when they find it. i had a blood trail down my driveway just the other day. those coyotes are stealth. probably got a raccoon.

and that is TMI of that person to post it on connect. social media has turned us into a generation of over-sharers. what in the world was that woman thinking.

I am the process of getting an Android phone so I will be able to use Connect. I have a list of everyone's screen names from the boards, hope I can find you. I will probably be asking for help once I am up and running. jamescat1, That is a bit much.

Audrey, I find it interesting that on the old WW message boards they were so censorious of the most banal content, pulling posts right and left, willy nilly, at times. But it seems someone has to post actual porn on Connect to get WW to react and take it down.

[quote author=" finreporter" source="/post/114758/thread" social media has turned us into a generation of over-sharers.[/quote] I sooooo agree with this, and every time I think it's maxed out, someone posts something even more TMI. It's on all of them, facebook, intsagram, snap chat.

Mike, apparently they do censor a lot of posts. I just don't seem to read them. One I know was a lady who was vegan and was not eating her full 20 points due to the nature of the WW point system. She and another vegan, whose posts I now follow on Instagram, just left Connect. I have no idea why they do not censor photo content.

mike, probably because they can't be bothered paying people to moderate.

jamescat1, I didn't know that was you Audrey. You and Kathy are the only ones I follow on Connect. Love your food photos. I totally agree with the comments about the oversharing on other Connect posts. Many of them can't be unseen.

Oversharing is the reason why this board and pinterst are the only types of social media I'm on.
People just don't think before the post.
I was at my favorite restaurant recently and one of the servers wasn't there. It's OK, not one of my favorite. She was fired for posting things about the restaurant, boss and other servers all by name on a website. There is some site called "server meme" for servers to kind of vent. But the owner of the restaurant joined to check up on people. She knew this and bashed him by name anyway.
Then wondered why she was fired! I'm all for freedom of speech, but there is also common sense

They probably use some kind of computer programming to flag content and then review it, and possibly once the censor someone they flag them and watch them more closely. Photo content, alas, are difficult to impossible to monitor with software.
