zazzles People must feel they have lots of privacy on Connect. Don't post the bikini pics when you still have weight to lose or even when you don't. It's the hospital pics though that bother me the most.

(WW Weekly for 7/23)wow. good for everyone who feels fab and sexy no matter what their size, but that picture is exactly what i would fear i looked like in a bikini. hence the one piece for me! i can't even bear to wear a bikini at home and believe me many times in the last week or so i tried! i feel like i look slimmer in the one piece. all black of course!

I love one piece black swimsuits but have no desire to post photos. I post meal photos and photos of plants in the yard.

I think people share so much on Connect because they feel we all have everything in common, not just our weight loss journey. I don't go to Connect very often. It's just not my thing. I tried for awhile, but I really didn't need any more social media. As for those who post two piece swim suit pics, I have to say good for them! (not that I want to see them or that I would post them of myself). If they have a good positive body image, why not? Isn't that what we all are working towards? I looked at that woman on the front of weekly and thought good for her! AND then, I wonder how much they paid her? LOL

haha, neen, i'd have to walk away with a minimum of $5M (net after taxes!) to let someone put a photo of me in a bikini on the cover of a WW weekly!

I noticed a while back that WW changed the look of the models(?) on the cover of their weeklies. In a way it goes with the "Beyond the Scale" message of living your life right now don't wait for goal. The message of this particular weekly was having fun now. I thought it was a good move, more inclusive?

Maybe if we saw more people with imperfect bodies in bikinis in advertising we wouldn't be so offended by it. I've been to a few beaches this summer and Great Wolf Lodge, and there were maybe 1-2 people of the hundreds in swimsuits that looked "great" or as seen on t.v., both men and women.

i'm not offended by it. i just don't want to look like that. That's fine. Everyone has their own insecurities. But that model clearly is comfortable with herself and I think if we saw more of that instead of only size 0 in advertising people might be less insecure and judgemental of their body flaws and the body flaws in others. What better place than WW to use a model like that? You may not want to look like that, but I'm sure there are plenty of WW users with a lot more to lose that would love to look like that. If WW only showed models with perfect bodies I'd be pretty discouraged myself because I know at my age and the amount of weight I still need to lose I'd NEVER look as good as a 18 year old who's never had a weight issue.

i agree with you. i'm also tainted because i live in los angeles. huge percentage of people looking very fit and healthy. not even necessarily thin. thin is not the thing around here. fit is what i mostly see everyday of my life so it probably influences me 10x more than a model would. but i realize i also live in a bubble.

I recently discovered a company called Swimsuits for All. They have models of all sizes and even *gasp* over the age of 25! You can check them out on Instagram or FB. I bought a bathing suit from them to try and it's really nice. They have tons of separates you can mix and match, if like me, you need a different size on top and bottom.
It's nice to see regular people in bathing suits for a change.

Audrey When talking about the weekly cover in the meeting, I thought about the resort beach outside of Venice. Oh my goodness.... there definitely was a liberating viewpoint on display there!
I had to admit that I really didn't notice the particulars about the model's body or swimsuit. I liked her energy and attitude. I confess though she looks reasonably fit. If she weren't, then that is what I would see and I would feel sad. As for Connect, I should get back to checking in w/ Kathy & Cleo (Kelly).

I'm very familiar with LA and the area beaches and that hasn't been my experience. I guess we run in different circles.
