The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good Morning, Angels. New Year. New week. Time for me to get back on track. The last of the pizza and Christmas cookies is gone. According to this morning's weigh-in, it was about a 5 pound holiday. Now, I am quite sure that a good bit of that is going to come off fairly quickly. (I hope!) My calorie-counting doesn't suggest I over-ate THAT much!
DH and I took a wonderful walk yesterday thru the nature paths that surround our neighborhood. There were a lot of people out, taking advantage of the sunny day. I wish we could do that every day (and the weather was as cooperative). It was so therapeutic.
Anetta: I joined the '365 Days' group on IT. See you there!
I was talking to my trainer (who I haven't trained with recently) on Saturday and he was talking about wraps that he makes using Rainbow chard as the wrap. So, I think I'll get some rainbow chard seeds and get some started indoors. Swiss Chard is the one leafy green that I can grow throughout the Summer. By mid-Summer, it gets too hot here for lettuces and spinach.
Daily Affirmation: I am centered. I am balanced. I am at peace. Fitness Goal: At least one hour at the gym with a focus of strength training. Health Goal: Flush the cookies and pizza out of my body! Talk about needing a "detox" or a "cleanse" or whatever it is. Gratitude: For getting thru the holiday eating and actually looking forward to getting back to my healthy eating plan.
Peace. Suzanne

Good morning my friends! I've been lazing about enjoying coffee and browsing healthy cooking blogs - there are so many out there. I found a new plant-based one, Amy's Nutritarian Kitchen. It seems to be based a lot of Dr. Joel Fuhrman's "nutritarian" approach, with some support from the Oh She Glows program.
Suzanne and Anetta - I love your new avatars. Happy New Year to all the angels. ♥
Affirmation - I use my time off productively.
Fitness Report - hit the gym for cardio and did the yoga portion of PT at home.
Health Goal - declutter and clean kitchen cabinets.
Gratitude - a fresh new slate to write on!

Good morning! Love seeing everyone's new avatars and the energy of new beginnings they signal! Suzanne, thanks for starting us off today. My new avatar is a photo of a viola on my patio, taken last winter. To see it still in full bloom and not wilted after a night of frost made me realize what resilient little plants they are. Last spring I planted nothing but violas in my pots and they are still going strong despite the colder weather. What I really love is that they self-seed and are easily transplanted. My current favorite for sure! Glad you had nice weather for a walk with your DH yesterday. Hopefully, good weather will prevail enough for you to do that more often during these winter months. I've never attempted to grow chard, actually have never eaten it. What kind of flavor does it have? Good luck with your planting of it this year. Love the affirmation you shared today! Pat, good coffee and researching healthy food ideas is a great combination for a lazy day. Glad you were able to take it easy while doing something you enjoy. "Nutritarian" is a term I'm not familiar with...time to look it up and learn something new for the day! I got a new immersion blender for Christmas and may break it in today by making some split pea soup. I'm going to enjoy having hot soup to help warm up during these chilly days. Today I'll be spending time at my sewing machine, finishing more items for the display in the consignment shop. After all, Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Daily Affirmation - I move past perceived obstacles with ease and embrace the freedom that results. Fitness Report - Back to morning walk routine, 35 minutes done, plus another 30 with the dogs. Health Goal - Eat meals as already tracked. Empty my jug AGAIN! Gratitude - Cultivating the habit of creating a flexible structure for my days, which allows for both productive and relaxing time. Enjoy your day, Angels!

Thanks to all for the positive energies. Yes, my niece is an alcoholic and drug user. And my sister knows about Alanon, but hasn't gone yet. I suspect her husband is also an alcoholic, so she could really use it. She was very excited about Byron Katie and they have been doing the Work for the past few days and love it. Sister has also taken her to get mental testing, I do believe she is manic depressive and could use some meds. I'm hoping this time she will learn and move on! Thank you for all your suggestions. Anetta, what is the IT app for meditation? I could use that practice for sure! I have meditated the past two days on my own. It really does help. What are you making for the consignment shop??? Do tell! I've been working on book page roses the past week. Today I made 5 corsages and a rose topiary for an upcoming baby shower. Did I ever tell you I love to craft? Haha! Next project is a shabby chic french roses baby quilt for my first grand niece Vivian, who is not here yet. I've got 2 weeks to whip that up. Hope it's a quickie. Pat, I love that Oh She Glows Blog! She has so many good recipes. I've read up on beans a lot, and of course have found lots of conflicting info. I cook them from scratch and always soak for 24 hrs, and rinse after cooking, and still sometimes have trouble. I think sometimes the beans are old. How do we know when they were harvested? I also gave up on cooking bean mixes. In my experience using different sizes almost always means some are more cooked than others. Let me know what you learn with your instant pot. Suzanne, walking is one of my goals this year. Dan and I walked the past few days and have made a pact to work on fitness together this year.
