May 21-June 21, the sign of the twins. Gems are versatile, quick witted, some are neat and most are curious. A Gemini is the eternally youthful child, no matter his/her chronological age. If you look at the strength of Gemini's, you will find that we are destined for success. The Gemini's here on this thread are particularly strong because we are on an important mission--a health improvement mission. Maybe you could even call it a make over mission. And we are celebrating--celebrating that, in spite of our moments of not-so-much-success, we are still here, still struggling to make it. We have a grand time together, and we would love you to be a part of that. So come on in and join us as we work together to make it through this journey and then to enjoy the results. Anyone can start the new thread. GEMS ROCK!

Good morning everyone. I didn't see the thread started to I thought I'd get us going. I want to be honest with everyone. I feel weird starting the thread because Cindy hasn't been posting and she is the one that always started this thread. I don't want everyone to think I am taking over. I feel like I'm in this weird position where I don't know what to do. I wish Cindy would post again and let us know how she is doing. I know she was having trouble reading this thread but I don't know what exactly is going on with that issue. I just don't want everyone to think I am trying to take over- that is not my intent at all.
I did finally find my last year tax return. It had fallen off a storage unit through an open draw and was behind the storage unit. I had to empty the whole thing out and move the darn thing to get it. I still haven't put everything back in yet. At least I feel like I'm not losing my mind because I knew it should have been there.
I made a pot of chili yesterday, it turned out pretty good but I may be regretting making it because I have acid reflux at times and while one bowl might not be a problem , a whole pot was probably not a good idea. I guess I'll freeze some of it so I don't eat too much all at once.
Mary- Did you ever find someone to do your hair? Good for you going back to WW, I hope it is just what you need.
Doreen- I hope Abi continues to improve. Eating a little sounds like a good sign. Sending good wishes for her.
Maggie- Enjoy your day off and your card game. I hope the cold you have had is getting better.
Hi to Cindy and Adrienne and anyone following. Have a good day everyone.

Hello all,
Nancy, don't worry about starting the thread. I would do it if Cindy couldn't and so would Mary and Shannon. It's always good to post last on the previous week so we know who to follow. I did a little digging and found you! LOL Happy to hear you found your taxes! That's always great news. I have yet to switch out my envelope system for 2017.
Mary, did you get your hair done or what? Curious Gems want to know! Your spirit sounds great~ Keep it going. I'm glad to hear that you're going back to the meetings. I find them to be uplifting just wish I could keep that feeling all week.
My efforts aren't going so well. I'm in a tiny rut that I know I can get myself out of, just having trouble doing it. I did get a workout in today.
I tried to get my iWatch fixed. I had it in my bra, just the time piece. It fell out and the corner hit the floor. It ended up shattering and now isn't doing well. It will take $235 to fix it. YIKES! I just wanted my Fitbit back! Well now I have one. I got the Flex2. I can't really wear it at work since it's a personal device and the FRA says we can't have them. I can put this into a pendant and use it. I really enjoy seeing it light up when I"ve reached my goal and knowing how I slept the night before. It shows your movement in sleep mode. Perhaps you might want to get one, Nancy? I find it to be very helpful.
The New year was quiet. I had to work New Years day. That was fun, NOT~ People were pretty drunk all day.
Tom isn't well this week, he's been in bed all week with flu like symptoms. Hopefully it's just a cold.

YES I GOT MY HAIR DONE. On Friday I was able to get in to my reg girl for a much needed trim wash condition and styled. Not only did it make me look better, it made me feel better too. I did find a walk in place that will wash and style for 15:00. I had Fletcher today, DD brought him to me. Tomorrow DH has a well visit at the DR. I need to get on the WW site to figure out what day I'LL BE selecting for meetings... I loved the Sat leader. BUT .... WEEKENDS??
ALL FOR NOW

Good morning. I'm glad that starting the thread isn't a problem. Thanks !!! I do just wish Cindy would start posting again, I miss seeing her posts and wonder what is going on with her, I hope she is doing okay. When I was looking for my tax return I was going through some stuff I hadn't looked though in quite a while and was surprised to find an envelope that had some money I had gotten as Christmas presents over 15 years ago. It wasn't a huge amount but it still surprised me. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with it. It was from relatives that have passed away now and I just don't want to use it for regular bills and such but want to buy myself something that will be a long term reminder of their gifts to me. I was thinking about a ring or something. I'm in a rut too with this weight loss journey. I think the Christmas cookies send me down a bad path. I didn't eat a ton of them but the added sugar was not good for me. I'm trying to claw my way back out and get to a better place.
Mary- Good to hear you got your hair done last week, I bet that did feel good. So how do you put a top on if your arm is strapped down to you? I'm trying to picture that. Hope you can find a meeting time with a good leader that you like. Finding the right leader makes all the difference.
Adrienne- Yikes on dropping your iwatch. I have one too and have wacked it by accident on doors a few times and am always worried it will break. I have thought about getting a fit bit so see what it has to say about my sleep. I'm really surprised the iwatch doesn't have that feature. Sorry to hear your DH isn't feeling well, I hope he feels better soon. I hear you on the rut, we can keep this train going.
Doreen- How is Abi doing today? I hope she is eating more.
Hi to Cindy and Maggie. Hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks for the picture in my head, Mary! LOL I can see DH looking at the vacuum like it's going to do what he wants because he wants it to! The look on his face must be priceless. I had surgery on my ear back in '03. They had to shave part of the hair above my ear. I couldn't watch my hair for, wait for it! 3 WEEKS! I had staples and they couldn't get wet. I hated every moment of it. 2 more days, you can make it!
Nancy, what a find! Pandora has some nice rings that might help you celebrate the givers. I would suggest Tiffany as well, but I don't know how much money was left. LOL Yes, you can actually buy Tiffany jewelry on the not so expensive side. I bought my mom a charm bracelet and added charms on her birthday and Christmas. All in one fell swoop is simply too much.
I'm in a bit of a rut as well. I don't know how or when it starts! I always come out of my meetings fully charged and ready to go and then WHAM! I lose it. Today, while putting my work boots on, I must've pulled a muscle in my hip, it hurts like hell. I can't think about getting on the elliptical. I just want to sit in the tub for a hot soak. I'll try it later

Morning ladies. 26 and crazy windy for the start of my day. Starting to feel a little better. Thanks for all the well wishes. So exhausted when I get home from work I've been falling asleep in the couch around 7:30. Guess my body needs the rest. Going to close my eyes. Have a great day everyone. Stay warm.

Good morning. We are suppose to get a little snow later today or early tonight. Maryland has crazy drivers in the snow. It's not like we never get snow here, people just don't get the idea you actually have to drive slower. Not looking forward to dealing with it all. I discovered something last night when I was journaling my food. I have been counting a granola bar I eat as 2 points and it turns out it is 3 points. I swear it used to be 2 points- they must have changed the fiber content on the package info. I have been eating very few of those granola bars lately but was going to have a very late lunch so I needed something to keep me going till I got a chance to eat lunch. I wonder what else I am wrong on points. I do the old points system, not the new one, I'd probably keel over if I knew what the new points system had as points for that bar.
Mary- Thanks for the description on how you get dressed. That has to be getting old not being able to put your arm in your sleeve. Only today and tomorrow before you see the doc!!! Hope he thinks everything is healing well. Your poor DH with the vacuum. I bet he has a new understanding of all you do each day.
Adrienne- Thanks for the suggestion about Pandora. I hadn't thought of that. I was looking at their web site last night and that might be a good place to find something. Boy, another train crash in NY yesterday. Wonder what is going on with all that, it seems to be happening a lot.
Maggie- It does sound like you need the extra sleep. Hope you feel better soon.
Doreen- Hope all is well with you, we haven't seen you in a few days. How is Abi doing?
Hi to all who follow. Have a good day everyone.

Thanks Mary! Put it like that and I almost peed my pants! LOL It's feeling better after a hot bath and some tylenol. I feel so much better I"m going to get a workout today. I Will have a gain tomorrow, deservedly so . I need to get under control.
Mary, thank God you finally got snow! Stop praying for it now, would you?
Nancy, I'm glad you may have found something! I just finished off a Disney bracelet and then next visit will start a Disney Princess bracelet. You don't have to do things in one fell swoop, dribs and drabs will accomplish the same thing, just take longer. Kinda like our weight loss adventure. How about enjoying the view instead of how long it's going to take? Yes, we want to get there and now, but will you really learn about yourselves that way?
Doreen, how is Abi now? Inquiring minds want to know.
I hear you about the train crashes! This was Long Island RR. We have the same parent the MTA, but we are run differently. My RR has had the major ones in recent years. It's scary for sure. Glad I've not been on those trains. It has made life difficult. We now have speed restrictions where they weren't entirely necessary. We will have onboard cameras, inside the train. YUCK! The FRA is all over us. Not fun at all.
I've enjoyed my visit with you all. I need to get my workout in now.

Nancy, I forgot to mention something about the granola bars. WW is now sugar based, they put a lot of importance on sugar. Granola bars are high in sugar. Yes, fiber is a factor, but sugar is a bigger one.
I did 15 minutes on the elliptical while watching Scandal. I'm hooked.

Scandal, love that show! Abi is feeling somewhat better. She more perky in the mornings. She still doesn't know what to do with her food. She acts like she wants it but doesn't touch it. We should all have that problem! Went to Petco and PetSmart and got a bunch of nutritional gel and soft treats. Guess what, she won't have anything to do with them. She will eat her crunchy treats and her crunchy cat food off the floor a few bites at a time. She won't eat her canned food, turkey and broth with brown rice and quinoa that I made special for her. I am pulling my hair out! She is eating a little more every day, so every little bit helps. She is on her 3rd course of Zithromax, really expensive. However the breathing treatments wasn't breaking up the congestion. So I talked to my chiropractor and decided to take her for Bemer therapy and have some essential oil I am applying to her spine. I am hopeful. We will see.
So we are now underway with the kitchen project. DH'S cousin is in the business of remodeling. And DS and his friend put in the new lights already. 👍

Hi Guys, How are you all doing. I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. It's been a long few months for DH and I. I have had to start using a flexi pump on my arm to help control my lymphedema. DH's polycythemia is responding very well to treatment, which is a blessing. I'm not doing anything with WW at all. I did get a couple of new yoga DVD's for gentle yoga that I am going to be starting. I hope they will help me get back some of my energy and calm my nerves. DH and I both have been having some problems with anxiety and depression. He more than I. Right now it seems that I am spending more time just trying to keep everything together
I was glad to see that you were still here. I've missed talking with you all. I will try to get back more often.
Adrienne, hows the pulled muscle in your butt? Good job doing the elliptical. I've got to start watching Scandal. Everyone says how good it is.
Mary saw the picture of your hair on FB. It's really nice. What did you do to your arm?
Hello Nancy, sounds like you found a nice windfall. I think a Pandora bracelet would be a great gift to yourself. Perhaps you could choose charms that remind you of the givers.
Maggie hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you've had a bad bout. Get as much rest as you can. That's the best thing.
Have a good night all and I will be back soon.
