Here we go another new week and another New Year. May it be a great week and a prosperous New Year for us all. It has been raining here and it is a cold cloudy day. So I think I will stay home as there is no reason to go out. Devin will be at home all week another good reason to stay home. I had thought about taking him to the park but everything there will be wet. We both could do with the exercise.
So how is your day going?

Hi Meg, Same weather here, raining off and on and only in the 40s. Brrr. We went to Santa Rosa to exchange a couple of gifts...which I hate to do...and couldn't find replacements, so got money from one store and a store card from the other one...drat, don't want to shop there. Oh well, life goes on. We went to Applebee's for lunch, not always the best food....and DHs wasn't....but at least I won't have to cook today. I'm working on getting Christmas put away....slow but sure. Hope you are all having a good start on the new year. Pat

Hello, WWOW folks,
It was a lost day here, I think. I did watch the snowflakes come down but not too many.
Everything was closed today. I'm ready for a regular week again.
Just cold tonight but not a good weather week here.
Safe night to all!

Hello everyone, It is a very wet day here today so I decided to stay home. I was going to get my hair cut last week and didn't and I was going to go today but perhaps I will make it tomorrow. I have been staying home too much and I need to get more active.
Hi Pat, sorry the food at Applebee's wasn't so good. We used to go there a lot but haven't been for awhile. But like you said you didn't have to cook. I cooked dinner last nigh but I am hoping DS will do the cooking today. We haven't started putting our Christmas stuff away but we probably will this week. Christmas ends the 5th January.
Hi Cat, while you were watching snow flakes we were watching hail stones, Devin was all excited about that. I don't think it is quite as cold today.
Where is everyone today? Stay warm and dry.

Snow Day here
Hi all, I decided to whimp out today, it snowed all night so decided to be a lump today. Don't know if I could have gotten out of my driveway or not but pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten out of the neighborhood so decided to not even try. I am finding it hard to believe that I feel this way. Sure isn't my pattern. In the past I would have at least tried.
Last night I canceled Ranger's class for tomorrow as I am sure it will not be clear. It is a night class so the roads would be even worse than thru the day.
One of the tv stations have two guys out on the roads doing a road report, live so have been watching that for the last few hours, it is on Facebook.i am finding that interesting.
Stay safe

Hello everyone, It is another cold wet gloomy day here but I can't complain as we need the rain. It is a good day to stay close to home. DS is outside doing something probably taking the lights down.
Eleanor, I don't think you are wimping out I would say you are using good sense and staying home. It's not fun getting stuck in the snow. I've been there and done that. My introduction to living in the U.S. was living 3 years in Iowa. I learned to drive there and I was always getting stuck in the snow. So I think you are very wise to stay at home where you are warm and comfortable.
I will check back later and see who turns up. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Good late afternoon...4:30, Weds. I have the Jan. blahs, it's a grey rainy day, they go together. ") DH and I went out to do a couple of errands this morning while it wasn't raining....had planned on tomorrow, but needed to get out of here for awhile. Did WalMarts and Home depot and after going to Chili's for lunch, we headed for Friedmam's. Looking for a new faucet for the kitchen sink....I like the one we have with a built in sprayer...ours is old and leaks. Ended up ordering it on line and saving $s. Got the tree down yesterday....the lights on the top level went out and couldn't be fixed, so will need a new tree next year. looked around today for one, but no little ones...4'.... available... so will just buy one next year when the season is back, it'll be here before you know it. ") Did buy some containers to store ornaments today...already have them full. Think I'll get some more next year. No plans for tomorrow. Depending on the weather Fri....might have a lunch bunch get together. I had hoped to get back on track this week with my eating but....guess who baked sugar cookies yesterday?....really yummy ones too. .... don't ask how I know that. ....Maybe I'll do better next week. Hope you are having a nice day regardless of the weather. Pat

Good Evening,
The last few days have been busier than usual. DD and DGD are still here and that makes more places to go and more cooking to do. Today we went to Costco to pick DH's prescriptions and some other things we needed. We also stopped at my friends for chiropractor treatments for 2 of the dogs. That took care of the afternoon.
Last night we had the turkey dinner that we had promised DGD. Her dad doesn't like turkey so DD promised her one while they were here. That means left overs today. DGD is feeling sort of funky and did not want to go to swim practice.
Our temperature last night was 23 and we got all the way to 22 this afternoon. The forecasters are now talking about rain by the weekend. It will be nice to be warmer and not have to worrying about ice on the roads. My smaller AWD SUV seems to get around well, but there is always the "other guy" to worry about.
We did not get out much in the way of decorations, so do not have much to put away. That's a good thing.
Hope things are going well for all of you.

Good morning all
As you can see from the time I am at home again today., which means the subdivision is still a pain to get out of. The ruts in the road is higher than my knees. So me, my dog and my front wheel drive car are staying right where we are..
My boss is working from home today, am not sure if that was totally planned or not. I know that quite a few people were not able to get in yesterday. HR even sent out an email about it, was glad to here that I wasn't the only whimp. The trash truck got stuck yesterday so they are nuts if they even think I am going to try. Yes I totally have short timers attitude.
Have been hearing that stores around here are out of any type of snow supplies, ice/snow melt and snow shovels. I have a shovel and ordered ice melt from Amazon, should be here tomorrow. Guess I will really have to get my butt in gear tomorrow and hope I can get to work.
The only thing I have seen moving is Ranger. Nothing is moving outside, even people with four wheel drive aren't moving. Am really hoping that it will get cleared up today.
No I am not going to use it as a ski day. Only fools would be going up there.
Will check back later Snowed in Eleanor and Ranger Boise. ID

Good Morning,
It was about 23 degrees here when I got up at 9:00. The forecasters are saying it will start to warm up tomorrow or Saturday. I'm ready for it. Only the dogs and cats are moving much right now.
Our main aim roads are clear and dry, but the side roads still have ice. We are having no trouble getting around and that helps.
I am having trouble with my eating and have gained 3 or 4 lbs. I've got to stop now while I can get those gone. I don't want to keep them. I think we are going to have turkey soup for dinner. I just need to get it going.
I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning Friday
Still at home but this time I really did try to get out. Stupid stupid me, my car got stuck at the bottom of my driveway, but I did get it back halfway up. So it is off the road and so all is OK. Will go out later and see if I can get it up under the carport. If not it is fine where it is.
Am all dressed and no where to go, so sad. Hahaha ! The other admins in my office are all staying at home also. And at my old office I know two of the gals called in. But I know I tried. Am not sure what I was thinking.
My direct tv dish is covered in snow so is not picking up the signal so no tv for me. But have some stuff on the DVR so that is fine too. Also I am a big reader so that really helps.
Ranger has been being so good, I think he really likes me at home. I keep telling him it won't be long now. Why didn't this wait two months? Then I would not even care. This is really driving home the point that I am too old for this crap.
They are saying the main roads aren't to bad but getting to them is the problem. I am a believer am thinking about getting a snow blower but am not sure how often I would really use it, have been in this house for 17 years and this is the first time I have been snowed in like this. OK I will now shut up about my snow problems, as I know that it is such a small thing in the terms of life.
Actually have been watching what I eat. So that is good. Think I am getting out of the holiday snacking mode.
Will check back later

TGIF! Good Morning,
The temperature is slightly above freezing this morning, but something in the RV is frozen. I hope the damage after thawing out is not too bad. They've kept cupboard doors open and run an extra electric heater. I knew it could happen, but remained hopeful. All we can do is wait and hope for the best. If we have to do this again we will probably get some heated tape for the pipes.
Eleanor, I'm moving away from the snacks, but it is because they are gone and I'm not going to buy any more. That is the best way for me to get back on track. My sweet tooth is always there and it seems to rule over everything if there are sweet things available.
We still have some ice on the side roads. Fortunately, my car seems to be able to handle it. Of course it is new so that means lots of tread and it has AWD.
I took DD and DGD to a friends to view his old car collection. He has about 8 totally restored, drivable cars and 2 or 3 in the process of restoration. One that is in the process is a 1906 Cadillac. All the parts have to be made from scratch and he does most the work himself. She loved it and took many pictures to share with her dad.
It's time for me to get dressed and get my day started. Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone, I have my eye on the weather forecast. Looks like we are in for a wild weekend. So I will stay home and stay dry. Eleanor, I don't mind that you share your snow problems. We all need to vent and I would say you have good cause. I think that we are in for a wild weekend no matter where you live. Here it will be really heavy rain and flooding. So I will stay home I don't think I will have any reason to go out.
Lynette, I hope you don't have any serious problems with your RV. I am glad your DD & DGD enjoyed seeing the old cars. That would be very interesting.
Today I took the remaining chocolate to my Knits Wits Gp. people bring snacks to share and the library provides tea and coffee. I have eaten too much sweet stuff over the holidays. It is so easy to get off track and so hard to get back on.
I haven't had much computer time this past 2 weeks as Devin has been home. He goes back to school on Monday.
Pat, I know you are out there somewhere. You will be sharing all the rain with me this weekend.
Stay warm and dry.

Hello, WWOW folks,
I guess we are all sharing bad weather. The word is ice here for tomorrow.
It has been so cold. I'm happy to stay inside a lot this winter.
Not much to report. Stay warm and safe. I can't seem to think tonight so I'll go to bed.

Saturday, the week is winding down. The rain has started and we will have a few day of bad weather. Though actually it is good for us here in California as we need all the rain we can get. Just not all at once. I am hoping the snow pack in the Sierras is good so that we have a good run off in the spring to fill our lakes and reservoirs.
Cat, I hope you can find some people around you to keep you company this cold icy day. I will find some chores to keep me busy. I have laundry to fold now isn't that exciting but it has to be done. I will probably spend time reading and knitting.
Pat I am sure you are enjoying the rain just like I am. Take care. stay warm and dry.
Lynette. were you able to fix the problem with your RV?
Eleanor, I imagine you are still snowed in. I hope you got your car back into the car port.
Take care everyone and stay home where it is warm and dry.
