Pat, I was just looking back over the posts, too bad that you have to get a new tree when the lights burn out. That is a problem with the trees with the built in lights. We had to get a new tree last year and that was part of the problem. I wonder if there is a way to fix the lights. Now would be a good time to buy a tree if there are still some available on sale. Most of the stores are getting their valentine stuff out on display and my DS tells me that the Easter stuff is coming in.
Take care.

Hi, Meg, and all,
It is a quiet day here with snow coming down. There are very few cars moving around so guess that is good. The snow will continue all night but the wind has left for now.
I'm watching Parolees and Pit Bulls. It is a rescue place in New Orleans. They do wonderful work for homeless dogs.
Stay safe and warm.

Good Afternoon,
Our weather here has warmed up to 36 today. We have some wind so it does feel a little cooler.
I spent the morning at the swimming pool watching my DGD swim. She did very well finishing 1st in all 4 events she entered. Tomorrow she'll swim 4 more and then we'll leave for the airport. I'm hoping for decent weather so I can come back tomorrow night. If not, I'll stay in the motel with them and come back Monday morning when the weather should be better.
Shortly after I posted yesterday DD let me know that they had water again. It does not seem to be leaking anywhere, so maybe we bit the bullet. We won't know for sure until the weather is above freezing for a few days and nights.
Ian was full of mischief this morning. He got DD's makeup bag and chewed a few brushes up. He also found some printer cartridges from an old printer and managed to puncture one so he now has pink spots on one foot! We can't leave anything where he can reach it or he will check it out.
I do believe we are sharing weather a little more than usual. Everyone stay safe and stay warm. I'm going to work on the turkey soup I have started. It will be an easy dinner during the football game and should taste pretty good too.
Have a great afternoon/evening.
Lynette

Good late afternoon...Sat. the 7th. RAIN, all day long, more coming tomorrow and flood warnings are up. I'm glad we don't have to go out for anything for a few days. Have a pot of soup on the stove, it's almost ready to serve. Going to send some over to Sylvia...my 99 yrs. young friend. She doesn't cook anymore, and not sure what she eats, so try to send some healthy things now and then. Both my knees hurt today and one of them is a replacement already. Think I curled up on my side to sleep last night with both knees bent....whoops, good sleep, but not good for knees. ") We went out shopping for a new Christmas, but no little ones still available....we'll just get one next year. We have one I bought as a joke from a junk catalog a few years ago....it's a single layer and hangs on the wall...is 4'....you can decorate it...already has lights. Good for folks living in small places it said. Hee, hee. It's a hoot. I put a table beneath it and put little gifts there. Our great-grands laughed a lot. All the family thought it was practical and make them smile. Who knows....maybe. ") Lynette, sounds like your DGD is very good at what she does. Hope the weather holds up and you can get home tomorrow night. Be safe. Sorry Ian was getting into mischief. Did he have to sit in the corner? ") It's almost time for us to try out the soup. Doug just got home from taking Sylvia's to her. Hope you are all staying warm and dry. See you tomorrow. Pat

Good Sunday morning all:
Yes I got the car back up and under the carport. So there it is.
Yesterday I broke down and called someone to come plow the road, was expecting more snow last night so got on the schedule for today. He will plow in front of my place down the street so I can get out. The city doesn't have the equipment or man power to do subdivisions. Usually it is only a day and it is worn down, but this time it is ice frozen ruts, and deep snow. When 4 wheel drivers are getting stuck I don't feel bad. The guy I called runs a saw mill so this is extra money for them. Really neighbor helping neighbors. It is only $100 usually I would say are you kidding me but he has to haul the cat to where ever. My neighbors have said they will split with me but all the times they have helped me out I will cover this.
Ranger and I will just stay at home where it is safe and warm. But in reality I am getting cabin fever. So am looking forward to getting out tomorrow. Just going to a store would be nice. But will pick up the few things I would like on my way home from work tomorrow. At least I don't have to get much ready for work tomorrow as I had it ready on Wed and it is still ready.
Better close for now but will check back later everyone stay safe.

Hello, WWOW folks,
None of our servers showed up this morning. The managers served the breakfast but it did take longer.
It is 33 degrees but a very misty rain is coming down. Traveling is colder in some areas so nothing is safe.
Watching Hachi for the tenth time. Richard Gere, sigh. He has a great love for the dog. Needs kleenex if you watch it.
Have a safe day.

Good Sunday noon time, RAIN, WIND, rain, wind, etc.....we're having one heck of a storm, haven't had one like this in many years. It's not cold though...in the mid 50s. To rain most of the coming week. Think our drought is over. I'm already wishing for spring time. ") Got Christmas put away yesterday and nice to find our dining table is still there and good as new. ") So far today have the small amount of laundry done. Not sure what else I'll get done. Not feeling great, think I have a bit of Colitis going on. Eleanor, good for you getting the snow out of your way...I know how you feel being a shut in. Grew up in the snow under Mt. Shasta and spent a few shut in days and now I'm feeling it with just rain....Sissy that I am. I'm ready for Spring time. ") That's my favorite time of year. I think all of us are having pretty yucky weather right now. Must be winter. ") Time to see what's for lunch, think DH is eating without me...having his homemade venison 'HOT' chili....YUK....and stinks too. LOL So I'm really not anxious to eat with him. ") I can't open windows in this weather and air the place out. I have to be nice to him though, because he made me pancakes for breakfast. ") Hope you are all having a good day. Keep safe and warm. Hi everyone, It is a very wet Sunday here so I have been staying home.
Pat, I am sure my weather is much like yours. Sorry you are not feeling great.
Lynette have a safe trip home.
Cat, I love that movie Hachi. I have seen it several times. Richard Gere was very good in that movie. I should watch it again with Devon. I don't know whether he has seen it or not. Too bad about the servers. But it is better they stay home if the roads are not safe. I think if I lived there I would have helped with the serving but then probably most of the residents can't 'help. I hope it gets better and that there is someone there to cook the food.
Now I am off to have dinner. Take care and stay warm.
