Hard to believe I was here 12 hours ago....today was a much more quiet day. A couple of thoughts come to mind...first of all, think Phyl had a great idea that we have someone else post for us (in Megs case it would be her son) in the event we are sick and cannot post. Another thought would be to exchange cell phone #'s- i can promise you that I would never harass or be overbearing knowing your phone #. The one abuse of that system I can see for myself is if I saw some "to die for" fabric in Joanns and just had to take a picture of it and send it to you all! Yes I would do that. But what I was thinking was we could exchange cell numbers via private message, and then, if it worked out, it does give us one more way of keeping in touch. Just an idea....I do know that there have been days that getting online has been a hardship and being able to text one of you just to say I am ok and its ok to post that on the thread would be fine. Well, more crafting coming for me.....DD#1 is pregnant with grandchild #3. Baby is due end of March....so far she feels pretty good and other than being tired is doing fine. I will be with her tomorrow and will see what she wants to do regarding an afghan. Not sure if she wants me to go neutral or gender specific. Got a lot of cleaning done today- including some work on my craft area. Hope everyone has a great night. Ginny

Hello everyone. I am having a low key day.. I spent the a.m. sorting out my meds. I had a couple of calls from nurses checking up on me. I am very fortunate to have very good medical care. I will have home visits which will be a big help. This afternoon I had a nap and I will probably read for awhile. I haven't done much reading in the past week.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.

I didn't get much of anything done today because I was waiting for phone calls that never came then spent hours on trying to find out about my med prices. I called Walmart pharmacy whick I dislike intensely but I have a Walmart preferred part D plan so pretty much have get them there. I do like that they send them to you in the mail. I was on their online site, the plan's site and got nowhere so I ended up having to call the plan where I wasted time with the automated thingy before they finally let me talk to a real person. Now she was very good and very helpful. The med I was supposed to get was over $287 for my copay priceSo I asked about the alternative...oh walmart couldn't tell me. Woman at the plan told me and it was even higher. Reason I have to pay so much is that they're tier 3 drug and I haven't met my deductible yet. I'm only $60 short of reaching the deductible but you can't just pay them the $60. so long story short maybe in Dec when I've finally met my deductible I can get this med which will then only be $57. Ridiculous. No wder people don't take their meds. I'm sure not taking this. I don't even know if it will help. This is very frustrating. And the people who were supposed to call never called at all. I sent my doctor a message on patient portal because when I called it was one minute before 5 and they had already switched to answering service.
Ginny, I don't know why I didn't give you my phone number. I'll send it to you in email.
Definitely praying foryou Meg, I hope you're completely better soon
CJ. I'm a huge procrastinator so really have to force myself to get down to business. I hate that I haven't gotten anything done today so will make myself do some things this evening. It's already after 6

Hello Crafters Meg - I'm so sorry to hear you were in the hospital and that you aren't feeling well. I hope you'll feel better soon, and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I know you'll enjoy listening to a book, so I hope you get to do that. Ginny - Congratulations on the new grandchild, how exciting and fun to make the afghan too. I did find some rhubarb at the store and have froze it in two portions. I'll look forward to having it this winter. Ruth - It's really sad how expensive medications are, it's a terrible financial burden for people who need them to be well. I hope the doctors can get things straightened out for you and that you're feeling better. Phyl - Hope you are feeling better too. I went to the grocery store yesterday morning and bought some ham at the deli. About an hour after eating for my lunch I was very sick - so I'm guessing it was food poisoning. I threw out the few other foods I ate yesterday too, just in case. I really liked that ham, so I'll miss having it because I'm sure not ever buying it again I didn't eat anything the rest of the day and I'm trying to eat some blander foods today just in case, but so far so good. I went to JoAnn Fabrics today too and bought a few yards of fabric to make a small quilt top using a Buffalo Check Plaid Pattern - kind of like the Gingham quilts I mentioned recently - I think it should be pretty easy. I also bought a little bit of flannel that I want to use with an old flannel plaid shirt I had that I don't wear anymore. I'm going to cut the shirt up into blocks and use the flannel I bought to put together a small quilt top. I might try to Big Stitch that with Perle Cotton, since it would like on flannel. Take care everyone!

Hi all. Dh wanted to go out so we went to two grocery stores...exciting social life we have isn't it.. You would all love it here today.High today not over 70. Got a bunch of boxes today and you'll never guesswhat was in some of them....yep, yarn. I did work on a cabbage patch dress last night. I started it as you would the shirt following the shirt pattern then I am making my own design for the skirt part of the dress. I sure hope nothing goes wrong that my ds and dgd can't come in Sept because my dgd is very excited about the trip. Not only does she get to go somehwere with her dad where it's only her ...she has two brothers and four sisters....but she's excited just to come here and to see us.She sent me an email asking about the weather in Sept so she'd know what to pack. Of course I wouldn't want anything to go wrong for them in any way anyway but this trip is exciting for her. She's 15 and likes to do all kinds of "homey" stuff. She knits, crochets, sews, and loves helping with her siblings. She's the oldest girl. Meg, I hope you're feeling ok. Well I better go put away the rest of the groceries. I had to stop and check on my friends Ginny, I'd bet your dd is feeling a little fatigued right now with the hot weather and being in first trimester. We have March birthdays too and it's a strange thing that with 13 grands already here and 3 great grands that we still have Dec, Jan, May and June with no birthdays. New baby will also be born in Oct or early Nov when we have birthdays already. In fact I have two grands who's birthdays are on Oct30th and the new guy could easily be born that day.

Good evening!
Meg, rest up! So glad to hear that you are catching up on your reading- your crafting can wait till whenever. Get better, get your strength up. I hope your nurses will check your meds to make sure you are getting everything you need. It is awfully easy to be confused. I will continue to pray for you, and hope your strength returns quickly.
Ruth, funny how birthdays seem to cluster in families. Our Ds was born on March 17- I hope that the baby has its own birthday. That is some saga about your meds and how much they cost. I used to have to go through that with my mom, and help her find the best place to get her meds. I know you will take yours...if that is best for you. Do your research on the internet about this medication. Your DGD sounds like such a lovely young woman! I hope she can visit with you- think the two of you must get along just fine! Its rare for a young woman these days to be so domestically minded.
CJ- how are you feeling? Did the food poisoning pass quickly? Love how you are using a flannel shirt and some purchased flannel together. Such a cute idea and a nice way to reuse what you have.
Went to the fair with Dd and the grandkids, I drove so she could relax a bit. She is ok, just a bit tired. No crafting today, but I did go over those 2 crochet patterns....am waiting to input from Dd regarding what she might like for the baby.
Phyl- hope you had a great day.... Ginny

CJ, oh I'm so sorry to hear that you had food poisoning or whatever. No I'd never eat that ham again either because it would remind me of being sick. I'm with Ginny, I love the idea of using a shirt you already have along with other fabric to make a quilt.
Ginny, my son's second daughter has a birthday on March 16th...day before your ds'. My dil wasn't happy that her baby was born on someone's bday. She wanted him to have his own but then, again. They don't live close so it really doesn't matter and the grandaughter he shares the birthday with is 16 and he's only 3. You're right about teenage girls. My 16 year old dgd, that lives here, isn't into any of those things. She's more into horrible music and who know's what else. I don't see her often enough to know what she does even though she lives here in town. She's a teenager that does the teen thing. Our other birthdays in March are my dgd who just had the baby on March 10Th and ddil birthday March 12th and my father's bday was the 29th and dfil was the 28th.

Just a quick check in before going to bed. It has been a fairly quiet day. I paid bills then had a nap. I haven't been too interested in reading or crafting. but that will come back eventually. I had the visiting nurse here this morning sorting out my meds which someone else did on the phone yesterday. The nurse will stop by 3 times a week. Then this afternoon a PT phoned and he wanted to set up home visits. My calendar is looking pretty full. Tomorrow a.m. I have an apt. with my Dr.
Ginny, how exciting to be expecting a new grand child.
cj, sorry about the bad ham. sorry you had to throw it away.
Phyl, hope you feel better.
Ruth, hoping and praying that you get good test results.
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Good afternoon!
Phyl - so glad you are feeling more like yourself....congrats on the loss! You went over your gain a little bit from last WI- so you are back in your losing ways. Love your new avatar by the way.! And I hear you, there are times that we just should not craft- the intentions are there but the talent is temporarily gone. Wait till another day when you can focus better. Glad you do not have to walk far to dog sit- is it at least a nice walk 7 houses down?
Meg, its so good to hear that you are being well cared for! From experience, sometimes those post hospital instructions are hard to make sense of, especially when it pertains to medications. And then another medical problem can be created by not taking the right meds at the right time. Your desire to crochet and read will return, probably slowly. We are just SO happy that our Meg is ok and back with us. For now, enjoy reading about others crafting pursuits and rest up. With winter coming there will be plenty of time to craft again.
Ruth- it sure is funny how birthdays in a family cluster. In my family there is a cluster of late December birthdays (including mine)- two birthdays are on Dec 18, a cluster of birthdays in August, and June and July are busy months too. Will pray that your DGD, the one who lives nearby, is in a temporary phase....and that "this too shall pass". How are you feeling?
Well we had some fireworks this am- DD (#1) and DH can really get into it with each other. Both have volatile personalities, both are highly intelligent and the sparks sure were flying. I went for a lovely walk with a friend from church- which made for a peaceful morning before the issues with Dh and Dd began.
Think the grandkids are staying here tonight....not sure. BBL Ginny

Good morning Ginny, Phyl, and CJ.
Phyl, it's good to hear you are feeling better and I know you're glad you lost the weight you gained. Small mittens are not something I would be happy sewing either.
Ginny, sorry to hear that dd and dh got into a disagreement. I hope it's all resolved by now. Is it your dh or hers she had the disagreement with Either way I hope it's all worked out and peace is back.
It's still pretty cool here today and I do hope to get some things done.Bladder problems seems to be fairly good during the day now and I've been surprised two nights in a row with the sharp pain and spasms waking me up in the night and keeping me awake. It's kept me from going to sleep before but never has awakened me prior to this.
Meg,Ihope you're feeling better and stronger every day. Don't hesitate to take the help that's available.

So when I was at the doctor the other day she decided to do a urine culture even tho the dipstick showed not indicated. So she called me just now and said that she just got the results and I do have an infection besides the ic. So antibiotic and pyridium are being ordered. She also sent to the Canadian pharmacy for my other med that's so expensive but it's not one that I need to take right away.
Yes it was cool here earlier but despite weather forecast of being cool all day it's now 93
DGd asked in email what the weather would be while she's here in Sept...nowdays who knows

Good evening, Today ended up being a tough day- not too peaceful at all. The issue with Dh and Dd continues, and I am babysitting the kids tonight. Dh just left for a hike, so that he does not have to see or speak to DD. I am staying out of it.... and refuse to get into it.
Well, I can see this post never got in. Interesting night with the grandkids last night. Yes I did get some sleep.
I am going to submit this and see who else checked in and respond. Ginny
