This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

GM Everyone! Someone is out of the house today. Today I will get my TM time in. I'm thinking about my word of the year. Any suggestions? Strong? Perseverance? Linda, what do you do with the hatchlings? Sorry the midwife wasn't there, but I know one thing, I pick you to be on my boat if the ship were going down. Is there anything you cannot do? I'll try to check back in if I have time. I am on chauffeur duty today and last minute errands before the kids go back to school. Frieda

Good morning, Frieda! Mmmm...I would have thought that someone would have been out of the house completely (for your sake) by now. Imagine how peaceful it will be when that happens. I think a good word for you would be resilience. You get knocked down and you spring right back up. Plus, you have all of us! Love the new "baby" picture, Linda! I hope the rest catch up. I agree with Frieda on that sinking boat. What to do today...I've worked so hard the past few days and now, with everything done, I hadn't given it too much thought. No doubt something will come up!

Good morning Frieda and Nancy! And Happy New Year to all the CATs!
Back at work today and back on the health wagon again. I dared to step on the scale this morning and although it wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t as ugly as I imagined it could be. I’m tracking, walking and selecting the better options for my meals. WW starts tomorrow and that will definitely help keep me accountable.
We’re heading for the deep freeze here in CO. It won’t get above freezing until the weekend and may actually get several inches of snow the next few days. I’m glad DH is going to be home part days so I don’t have to rush home for the puppy’s lunch feeding.
Frieda, I’m going for the word “empowered” for 2017. Did you get all your goals figured out?
Nancy, how exciting for your new job opportunity! I hope all the germs are gone from your household and you all stay healthy.
Linda, love those little baby chicks! My old hens are molting still and not happy with the cold temps. I do wish we could have more chickens but space and county code won’t allow it.
Anne, here’s to getting those steps in!! I found out about the half somersault maneuver via Google, but have a co-worker who’s also had success and had his doctor recommend it.
T, I hope those storms didn’t get too severe in your area. Yes, spring is too far away for me…I’m not looking forward to at least 3-4 more months of snow and cold.
Martha, how’s the vertigo today? I hope it’s passed and you are feeling better!!
Time to get to work. Thinking of you all and wishing you a wonderful start to 2017!!

Yes, it's a new day!
Overdid the eating yesterday. Started my day with happy lamp, didn't feel up to exercising yet. I still have some vertigo but it's not debilitating like before.
Frieda - Enjoy the removal of the major daily stress. My word for you would be: Confidence/Confident. Hope the girls get settled back into the routine quickly. Nancy - Enjoy the unplanned day. After all that has gone on in last couple weeks, it's time for a 'Nancy' day. Countdown until new job starts. Andrea - We are in the works for a cold week. High's in the upper 20's and low's in the low/mid teens. Hoping I don't have to leave the house this week. If I need fresh air, I'll just stick my nose out the door. Linda - Hope the cold doesn't cause problem for your babies. Our neighbors have chickens. Have seen them in their fenced front yard, not sure how many they have. Anne - What is your usual way of getting exercise/steps in?
Sending HUGS out to all our CATs! frozen mannequin martha

I just got email saying phone interview is on Thursday morning. Hoping my shakiness feelings go away before then.

Thanks, Andrea. I am excited. Martha, hope your world stops spinning before the interview.
It did not take long for me to realize that the bathrooms were both due for a scrub; the kitchen floor, as well. All glass surfaces had nose/paw/sticky fingerprints. So, I showered, and got all of that done, plus another vacuuming. I'm going to settle into my office this afternoon to address first-of-the-month, and moving 2016 files to a box.
Also, I will be more mindful of checking my Fitbit. I'll admit I pretty much ignored it yesterday with all I was getting done. I'd sure be delighted to see some of my online purchases show up today.

Hello, Martha, I LOVE your photo. I'm making a roast for dinner. I'll be back tomorrow.

I'm still wrapping up and this is one of the important things to complete my day. I'm going out to check for predators before I go to bed.
So lovely to be wanted in the event of a boat going down. Not my Forte since I can't swim but the thought was heartwarming.
I so love having my indoor treadmill. Tonight when I had dinner ready, I told DH it was too early to check for my possum so I was going to walk on the treadmill. I have a pole lamp by the front so I can read, listen to music, and blow my built in fan on me. I have no excuse for extra pounds!! Except my cooking is almost as over the top.
It is bitter here, but I imagine less so than some of the others. They said it was the coldest day of the year, and I was impressed. Then remembered it was the 3rd. Duh.
Martha, I hope the interview is great for you.
And that T had a rewarding day back at it today.
I got four chicklettes delivered today. And news that two more have hatched and two were in the process. I pry for details, but it's all through texts. I am very curious what the babies will look like from my various colored eggs. These are all crossbred chickens from the random makings from my flocks.
