Well, an ark would have been welcome last night here in Houston. We had 8" of rain yesterday. Yes, that's right....8 inches of rain! I slept through most of it but I did wake up often to hear it. The sun is sort of out this morning but all the ditches around our area are overflowing. Nice to see our yards and trees get a good soaking but really, 8" kind of over does it!
Hope everyone has a good Tuesday. 2 friends are taking me to lunch today so I'm going to check the menu before I go and look for a good OP meal.

Good morning, linda72....stay out of the ditch, LOL! I've got a busy couple of weeks on hand, PT and acupuncture today, but J is off all month, so taking care of 🐶 will be much easier. Committed to the day!

Checking in. Wow linda72, that IS a lot of rain! We had more rain again yesterday - just all day long. Its the strangest summer for weather that I can remember. Have a nice time at lunch! A typical Tuesday on tap here. Could I be anymore boring? Hope everyone has a great day!

linda72, be safe with all that rain! YIKES! I've been crazy busy trying to get ready for the start of the semester. I am INCHES away from having all my classes covered! UGH! Took my daughters cat, who is 12, to the vet yesterday for a broken tooth. The vet said the tooth would be ok, but was more concerned about her heart! She was heavy mouth breathing and her heart rate was in the 300s (even high should only be about 175). So they did labs, chest x-ray, and cardiac ultrasound. Her heart isn't enlarged and there is no fluid, so probably not CHF. The labs were to test for hyperthyroidism. They are supposed to call with results today. So one way or another the poor cat will be on some kid of pill. While at the vet I scheduled Oakie for his surgeries (spay and hernia repair) August 17. He is such a dorky dog!! Belle is good and all the other cats at my house are good! My MIL has a "throat stretching" procedure tomorrow morning. Hopefully this will help with her ability to eat regular food again. I hope you all have a GREAT morning!

neen, I hope the kitty is ok! Glad to hear the other animals are well. And good luck to your MIL. That sounds painful but I hope it helps.

linda72 so much rain. Has there been serious flooding? neen I hope MIL's procedure goes well. I used to choke all the time and throats stretching helped me. There was apparently one place where food would get stuck. We are going to talleyvineyards.com today. It is a beautiful winery with pretty picnic grounds. I miss their cat Rico Suave who thought nothing of begging for food. We will take Lily Belle with us 🐶

jamescat1, when I grow up, I want you to adopt me! Your vacation sounds lovely, walks on the beach, visiting vineyards, picnics. Sounds divine! There was a lot of serious flooding in many areas of west and northwest Houston. doordie50, I think your brother lives in NW Houston. Check in with him. Don't think there were injuries but a lot of flooded out cars. We've had 10" of rain this week. At least it's much cooler today.

It's Tuesday, so WW and accountability. I confess I didn't face the scale, but did commit to getting back to tracking and staying in my healthy range. It sure doesn't take much to get sidetracked. I picked up roses to remind me that not only can I but I will because I'm worth it.

linda72 we have been doing this for more than 35 years. When we first moved to Fresno we drove up to Kings Canyon National Park, an hour away. Then we found affordable rentals at the coast.

linda72,We only got 2" yesterday so if you want to send 2 more inches our way we will gladly take it.We heard about the rain on the news. That's a lot at one time.My youngest DB lived in Houston for a few years and in one of the floods he and his neighbor had to go to the grocery store in a small boat. ksbruns,Are you doing PT on your knee?I don't know why but after I got my knee injections my surgeon wouldn't recommend any PT unless it was in water.I was hoping my left knee hurting was a fluke yesterday but it hurt again today on my walk then the bad right knee had to chime in.If I go back for injections it won't be to the same surgeon that's for sure. doordie50,I wish we would have a strange summer. Our high was back up to 91 and dry but extremely humid and it should be back close to 100 before the weekend.I'm right there on being boring.Walk, grocery shopping, exercise bike. neen,I hope your DD's cat will be okay.Poor Oakie. We do love our fur babies.Do your cats shed a lot?I only have 1 cat and she is a short hair and I haven't had cats in years but she is shedding and there are clumps of hair(well it seems like)on the floor. You would think she would go bald but she doesn't.Positive vibes for DMIL. jamescat1,Was that painful? It sounds horrible.I'm glad it helped.LOL on a cat begging for food.My cat has only eaten a little of turkey lunch meat I used to have on hand and does not want any other human food yet if I'm at the kitchen table eating yogurt or anything like that she comes around meowing. My dog gets to lick out the paper bowls but she never begs for food.Lily is so cute on FB.I hope you had/have a good time. Nothing exciting going on around here.Scooter is laying on the floor and KK on her throne(the top of my china cabinet)so life is good for them.We may eat out for lunch tomorrow.I have been cutting down on eating out the last 2 weeks although DH didn't mind going to the fish fry last Friday without me.LOL.
