Peg, thanks for starting us this week. I am getting stronger and feel better. I will have a few more visits from the home nurse. I just read somewhere that Hillary is becoming a spiritual advisor. Perhaps that is more fake news. I'll see if I can find that tomorrow to post here.

LOL!! Hilary a spiritual advisor? We all know which "spirit" she follows.
I got my Nutribears with my new order, but they made a mistake and sent me 2 30 pound bears instead of a 30 and 40 pound bear. I just put a post it note on one of them and labeled it 40 pounds and took a picture for facebook.
So what about the rhetoric about/from North Korea? You think they would dare attack Guam as they are threatening? They would be destroyed the next day.

Yay, I hope the monthly one gets some more participation. I think once we get through the summer, things will pick up. Plus you folks talk about more than politics, so that is good.
I don't really go on many sites anymore, I mean social sites. I was a member of the old WW board, but didn't post much. I have Facebook, I only use it a couple times a week to see any new grandchildren pics. Two are grown, the other two are age 3 and eight.
Anyway, will be checking regularly.
On political side, I saw Eric has filed a suit against reporter. I would love to find out this is a lie.

I got more likes on this comment on fb than anything else I have posted:
Huge amounts of time and money are being wasted on investigating Trump while virtually nothing is being done about the crimes of the Clintons.
Then some liberal said:
Fact check: huge amounts of money and time WERE wasted and nothing was found.
My response:
Devils investigating devils - exactly why the Clintons have never been prosecuted.
What do you all think?

I think you are right. Not just democrat devils. There are plenty of republicans in office turning a blind eye to democrat crime.

Wow, did you see President Trump's fiery press conference today? He let the dishonest media have it with both barrels and set the record straight on what really happened in Charlottesville. I totally understand why he doesn't waste much valuable time on the media.
Actually, my feelings are mixed on the removal of Confederate statues and flags, etc. I am totally against slavery and hatred in all its forms, but taking down everything Confederate is attempting to erase history. What if they decided to take down statues of the founding fathers of this nation and other memorials? Where does it stop? This is exactly the newspeak warned about in Orwell's "1984". Every time a new political party took over they would rewrite the history books and remove all vestiges of prior administrations.
I posted the following today on facebook:
I offer no apology for what I am posting for this is truly how I feel. I'm GONNA VENT HERE. I have lived through Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama.
In my lifetime have I never seen or heard of a President being scrutinized over every word he speaks, humiliated by the public to the point of wanting to hurt someone, slander, ridicule, insulted, lied to, threatened to murder him, threatened to rape our Beautiful First Lady, and have his children also insulted and humiliated.
I am truly ashamed of the people of this country.
I am ashamed of the ruthless, hating, cruel, Trump haters who have no morals, and news reporters who feel they have the right to purposely lie and do the things they are doing.
Every other President after they were elected and took the oath of office were left alone, they weren’t on the news 24/7 being dissected by every word out of their mouth, ALWAYS BEING PRESSURED to do this or that and never being given the support the important work that needs to be done.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH is ENOUGH, LEAVE THE MAN ALONE AND LET HIM DO HIS JOB FOR GOD’S SAKE!

The following is an official statement from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which should clarify my position on racism and the recent white supremacist attack in Charlottesvile:
It has been called to our attention that there are some among the various pro-white and white supremacy communities who assert that the Church is neutral toward or in support of their views. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the New Testament, Jesus said: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37–39). The Book of Mormon teaches “all are alike unto God” (2 Nephi 26:33).
White supremacist attitudes are morally wrong and sinful, and we condemn them. Church members who promote or pursue a “white culture” or white supremacy agenda are not in harmony with the teachings of the Church.Â
At the same time, I am also against deliberately erasing and changing history to satisfy the whims of political extremists. Removal of Confederate statues and other memorials will not change history. Those who do are living in the past and are racists themselves.

Hi, I don't know if I am the "lurker" that you folks are afraid of or not and did not know that it was not allowed to read various threads. I am not a conservative but am interested in what conservatives think about the current political happenings. I also at time read the posts that the progressive thread posters put up for the same reason. I have a friend, or a person I think of as a lovely woman and friend, who posts here and thought it might help to understand the "other side" of thinking in the U.S. Sorry that you feel so hostile to folks reading here without posting. Now that I understand it is a policy of the moderator, I will stay away. Too bad it has to be such a hostile situation.

mel, I am sorry you missed the post because I deleted it! It wasn't you at all!! Someone with the username "Lurker" posted some nasty rantings in here and I was giving them a warning. Please feel free to read away, we encourage that here, what we don't encourage is for any member on this site to be attacked or called names for their political, social, or religious beliefs. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
