This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Good morning everyone. I'm procrastinating for a minute before heading to the treadmill for my inaugural walk of 2017. Why is it so hard to regain good habits once you falter? I'm reminded of Anne's quote this morning. Watch out is my mantra for today. I've successfully avoided sugar for 2 days now and am trying to remain vigilant in the face of the holiday leftovers rolling in to the office kitchen!
Our warm weather is to come to a screeching halt this weekend with the threat of a bit of snow. Just what I don't need on the last weekend before my cruise. I'm still trying to assess the tightness of my summer clothes and may need to search for a piece or two. For the most part I'm OK, but my size 12 shorts and skirts are snug. I'm determined to eat very carefully for the next 11 days and maybe banish a fraction of an inch! Regardless, I'm getting very excited! MM printed all our boarding docs on Monday which makes it feel real!
The clock is ticking as I type and I need to get moving. I sincerely hope to get back here today, and regularly from now on. You all keep me motivated and honest!

And we love seeing your gorgeous face, Susan! Your cruise sounds wonderful. Grammy Linda, that pic with the new babe is very sweet. You look great! We had the Grands for a bit last night so DD could bowl. DSil doesn't get off work until 7, so it was just short of 2 hours. They were so good. Anyway, I got Two to walk laps with me so I could make my step goal...or rather, he ran ahead of me! Those hours at my desk kept me from getting there sooner, but I did it. I have a question for my fellow TM walkers/runners: Do you go for a certain distance, or do you move for a specific time? Timewise, how long do you spend? My little car gets aligned today, and I've received notice that some of the parts we ordered for her are on the way. The "lipstick" will be last.  I'm excited at the prospect of having her sparkling and running well in time for me to start my new job, since I will be driving out of town. Until she's done, I have the convertible to drive...and no, not with the top down! We also ordered a new front grille for that fun car. She'll look much newer with that repair. Nothing got delivered yesterday; maybe today? |

Good morning Susan and Nancy!
Cold, cold temps here today. Everyone in the office is getting sick and I'm feeling achy myself but I'm just going to blame my old age and the weather front moving in. I do not need to be sick!!
Susan, I'm so jealous that you will soon be enjoying a fun (and warm) cruise!! GJ getting back into those good habits.
I haven't been on my TM for a while, Nancy, but I aim to walk at a brisk pace for at least 30 minutes. Although, some days it's all I can do to talk myself into 10-15 minutes...usually once I've started, I can get those 30 minutes in.

I'd better get started on these piles. Especially if I am really coming down with the crud that's going around...no time to be sick when the auditors will be here before too long!! Happy Wednesday to all!!!

Hi CaTs, good morning. Rainy and 30's today. Colder is on its way.
DD is headed to her BFF's in PA today for several days. I will miss her. We have been having wonderful family time together. Even DS has been good-natured and including himself. His new job has given him a more peaceful aura than the frustrations of retail.
WeWa is kicking off big this week, taking my attention. No plan changes, just the new year fever, which is super and invigorating. My mtg yesterday was very well attended (may it last!). I'm going today as a member, WI and all. Tomorrow I work two mtg. Hope my local one sees some people.
Piano is also up and running. And without Christmas music, I'm relieved to say.
Susan, you will feel so good, mentally and physically when you get in the groove of those habits again. Enjoy cruise prep!
Nancy, your new gig sounds like fun. We can enjoy it through you.
Andrea, sorry for all your sickies - stay well! How's Jessie?
Must make tracks. Things to organize for places I'm going - can't get to organizing my home! Maybe this weekend. Best day wishes to all of you.

I was just thinking about how busy your meetings will be this week, Shari! The gym was always crowded in January - then people started dropping off to normal attendance by mid Feb. I had my first real full day with no added sugar in a couple of weeks yesterday. Why is it so addicting?
Susan - I am so excited for your cruise! Remember, I am living my vaca through everyone else's photos this year, but I know you will take a lot of them. I want to see more of your Yellowstone photos - I know you took a lot of them.

Hey to everyone I have missed. Need to get back at it. We had a huge power spike yesterday afternoon which has created havoc with our computer network equipment. Thankfully our brand new server only sustained a fried power supply.

Shari, you aren't kidding about it being the first of the year and the WW craziness! We couldn't get enough people (15) interested in having a meeting at work in our building last fall...they barely got enough interested to hold it in another building on campus. Just got back from our info meeting at our building today and there are almost 40 people signed up - there's even a waiting list! - and we'll have to break into 2 groups so we don't have to wait forever for the weigh ins. Plus, the other building has nearly 30 people! The county is offering this benefit for free if we attend at least 10 of the 12 meetings...otherwise it's at a very reduced rate of $50 for the employee share.
Next week is the last week of the 3x/day feedings for Jessie. Yes, much work, Karla...but so worth it!! She's growing fast and can already drink water out of the big dog water bucket!
Here's to everyone finding willpower to resist those sugary temptations, warmth for everyone in the deep freeze this week and hugs all around!!

Good Afternoon-
Yesterday & today, exercise has been housecleaning - moved furniture, vaccumed, etc.
Feels like the turn table of vertigo is going away. Was reading stuff online regarding it.
Text from DSis last night. Dmom is staying in CA for now. Temps in Spokane are in teens with wind chill of single digit or negative numbers. Since she sits in a recliner for most of day....
Back to my Cinderella chores.
