Good Morning! Got to make this quick, I was late yesterday. Bryana had the new girl in training and didn't bring her around to introduce her so I haven't met her yet. She isn't one for introducing people. did the same thing with me too. Still crazy at work. I'm sure we are behind in our quotes but I've been tied up the past couple of days with stuff from last week. OH my I'm sore. At work if I don't get up and walk around I get so stiff and hurt even more.
The kids start back to school today so this should be an interesting morning.
Carole, how did the Dr.s appt go? Well I hope. Yay to being down in Dec! that is fantastic!
Sue, Metabolic aftershock is a WO you do it 3 times a week for 15 minutes then walk after to cool down. It is body weight exercises, squats, push ups( i do those against the counter) stuff like that. I really worked for me before I fell and hurt my knee. Also that was one of my questions to Cookie, I told her that I'm usually good for 2 weeks. She said make a list of the COST of staying the same, not eating healthy, not taking care of yourself, eating what ever you want. then make a list of the BENIFITS of taking care of yourself. Refer to this when motivation wains. Also figure out the emotion behind what is causing you to want to do something not healthy, like eat a bag of chips. What are you thinking. It HAS REALLY helped me already to stay away from stuff I don't need.
got to run. Still have to make breakfast/lunch and get moving.
Oh I had to park on the roof yesterday 4th level for 2 flights of steps~

Good morning, all!
I am really, really, really still trying to get here in the mornings but it is next to impossible. And, since I try to stay off the computer in the evenings...well...I miss you all and want to catch up!
Jo, I really like the ME workouts, except that they are anti-running. LOL.
Hi Christine! Hope the knee is doing well. My DD is just back to school today -- her last semester of HS! Sigh.
Waving hello to everyone else. I will try to get back here more. Sidney had his 2nd training appt yesterday and it went well. She feels he is improving and we do too, but the morning schedule is still really hectic and he is very high maintenance!
Tracking on My Net Diary didn't work out - it's too rigid! I've been sporadically tracking on MFP..trying to give myself credit for what I AM doing and not focusing on what I'm not. I'm maintaining the weight I lost from being sick HA HA, so I'm ahead of the curve for the year so far. LOL.

Morning Jo, Christine and all to come....I think if the wind hadn't howled all night and I was not woken from a dead sleep with a charlie horse in my right calf I might have slept pretty well!! The wind kept waking me up as it howl around the end of the house!! We are expecting a little snow overnight, starting about 7pm...that will give me time to head to the bank right after work and get my workout in the pool done and home before any flakes fly.
Was happy to see my fly-by didn't stick and I'm actually down .6#....not a lot, but I'll take it!! Jason made popcorn last night and it smelled so good that I made myself some...thought the sodium in that might put me up today, but my fingers don't feel too bad today!!
Need to pack my lunch, get it tracked and get this day started!! Will catch up tonight after my swim!! Never did chat with David last night...instead FaceTimed with Hannah & the boys for about an hour & a half!! Shea is out of town this week so I usually chat a good bit with her for some "adult" contact!!!
I hope that since I don't see Carole yet that doesn't mean you are "down for the count"!! Strep??? or just head cold???
Have a great day!

Good morning!
Christine- you are out the door well packed for the day.
Sue- without extra salt popcorn isn't too bad but yes it usually needs a bit of salt.
Nadine- I have been having trouble getting here too even though I mean well.
Jo - sorry so crazy at work.
Will try to get on here at work where I can type faster. On to journal a bit.

Good morning!
Happy to have the time to check in today--feeling out of touch! I totally missed yesterday....I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I've been having some issues with my alarm clock (I think that a button was pushed while cleaning or something). During my week off, I woke up when I wanted to and it was pretty early (but not as crazy-early as a work week). Well, yesterday I needed to get up EARLY to do some TM time before driving for 1.5 hours to a 7-hour meeting. Wouldn't you know, my alarm clock didn't work! I am not a happy camper waking up and rushing to head out for a long day---fortunately, it was a long drive so I turned my attitude around on the way there. I did go to the gym on my way home and workout out pretty hard (and did a spin class). So, took this morning off from the TM to rest my weary legs and "treated" myself to some time here. I love having the time to read your posts and catch up in a quiet house!
So, I think that my hot flashes are rearing their ugly head again...they were REALLY bad last May when I would get the chills after them. It was so distracting and hard to focus. I have been lucky that they subsided, but I think that they have returned but not as extreme as they were. Oh well...hope that this all comes to an end more quickly than the "up to 8-10 years" that my gynecologist explained. Uggh!

It is cold here (38 degrees) but nothing like some of you are having....we've had 5.5 inches of rain in the last two days and it's foggy now...kind of gloomy. Oh well, we'll appreciate it when it is 105 degrees outside! I kind of like wearing layers of clothes anyway Carole: I was so sorry to read about your sore throat--and you had to fast and do bloodwork too! I am thinking that they do a throat swab for strep, right? In our labs, they only draw blood so I don't know that they would be any help with that....hope that you yours was more helpful! Good job on the drop on the scale...you have been tracking so well, can't help but wonder if that has contributed to it? Plus you've been trying to get more walking in, right? Yay to the former store owners coming through with a bonus for Ken! It sounds like it has really helped with some expenses too---nice! Will Eden go to pre-school next year? Seems like she will be ready for it all. Or, were they going to home school? I can't recall. Those little ones carry a LOT of germs! I have never been so ill in my life as my first year teaching...I still have a great immune system because of it though! Wow to Kaitlin's attitude--and I LOVE that you didn't let it control you. I am telling you, people WILL eventually get tired of hearing her comments---it WILL happen! Good for you for moving on with it all. I hope that you are home and taking care of yourself today....

Sue: Wow, that is Jackson? Such a cutie---they are ALL cuties! Love seeing the pictures of you, Jason and all of your huggable boys! You are so good about figuring out how to mix up those things in the slow cooker---sounds yummy. Glad to hear that you had your pool time and that your body is getting stronger because of it. I am sure that it is a "good" sore Regarding the work in my office, some of the work is mine and some is "shared". My supervisor is one who thinks that most things should be done "together"...honestly, there are a ton of things I do alone because no one else (including my supervisor) has the experience. She is working to train another person in our office to eventually "take over" for her I think (they are good friends) so she has me work with her to teach her things---it's really odd but I have moved on from thinking about it and letting it get to me. Unfortunately, I am not nearly as passionate about my work--this has made it "just a job". Our superintendent has picked up on that and I can tell that he is delicately trying to find a way to move me around somehow. I just do my work and let them worry about it. Yesterday, while at the training in Sacramento, I was notified of 3 one-hour meetings that were put on my calendar by my supervisor (via one of the secretaries in our office).....THREE one-hour meetings to plan for a 5-minute presentation at a meeting later this month. Can you imagine? How could it take 3 hours??? Unfortunately, I think that it is to help her do her work. Oh well, I will move on! How many more days ill the knee surgery? It's approaching soon! You have so many January birthdays, don't you? We are like that later in the spring. Hope that you have a good day today.

Jo: Good for you for getting those workouts in! It sounds like they are definitely challenging your body. Good idea to do them on the bed until you feel more comfortable on the floor. Sometimes, as I am trying to get up from the floor after stretching, I am amazed how hard it is to get up! Getting old is rough, LOL! I hope that you have your introduction to the new person at work soon...you know how that is to not be introduced (since it happened to you) so maybe you can take over on that one How did the kids do going back to school? Fortunately, with MLK holiday and President's, there are some breaks here and there. How is DH feeling? Hope that you are seeing some improvements. My DH is MUCH better (thank goodness for all of us!) Loved hearing about the podcast and that Cookie responded to your questions--sounds like she has some great ideas! It's amazing how much we can learn from other people! Good job doing the stairs at work....it can be hard on the knees though. Maybe you can walk around the garage more than going up/down the stairs? You'll know what your limits are!

Lisa: Is DD's interview today? So glad that she got an interview so quickly! So sorry about the financial issues, but so glad that she has you there to support her so that she can move on and get a fresh start. How is the journaling going for you? Is it electronic or do you write by hand? I still find myself favoring the hand-written things like that.
Christine: That's rough when you feel like you are starting your day off rushing out the door---hope that it's been a good day for you. I am sure that it felt good to get that report done---you may have done your "hard thing first" today---good idea! How is the knee feeling? Have you been able to get on your bike?
Nadine: That's okay--you will get the mornings figured out. Just a blip right now while you adjust to the "4th child". Glad to hear that the trainer is seeing improvement. Sorry that you were sick, but I guess that it is helping with motivation because of the number on the scale? Hey, when life gives you lemons..... Hope that things are going well for you in this new year.

Shelly: Your lemon chicken sounded yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe. That sounds like it would be so fun to meet DS and his family at a baseball game! Hope that you can plan that one day in the future....it would be something to look forward to! So, your post (when you were talking about the fritter) reminded me of something that I heard on HSM. I would be a TOTAL sucker for the baked goods that you work around--smelling them, etc. would drive me bonkers. Heather said that, when she craves something like that (a fritter), she says to herself, "You can have that on Thursday." or some day in the near future. Then, she can either pre-plan for it that day (and make other meals lighter) or sometimes she winds up not having it at all. I thought that was such a good idea--it makes us plan for it. Very few things are things that you only can have that one time--most things can be planned for. Now, I need to practice it!! Hope that you have a good day ---keep up the workouts--you are doing great with them!

I need to sign off and get ready for work. I have a teeth cleaning right before work, then a pretty full day and a board meeting tonight so probably won't be home till 10 pm or so (uggh). Maybe I should have done the TM? Naah! So a friend from college contacted me (she was in my wedding) because she will be in Sacramento on Friday. I have a meeting down there so I am meeting her for lunch....looking forward to seeing her and her two sons (her boys are young as she held off on having kids). It will be a nice break in the middle of the day! I am SO glad that tomorrow is Friday--anyone else on that train with me? Hope that you all have a good day!

Ugghh... stayed home today! Yesterday labs went fine - no they can't do anything "extra"...kicking myself now... should have gone over to the check in desk and ask if they could do a throat swab... but I was running late for work - now WHAM... but thinking the throat is only "sore" from being so dry... as I can't breathe through my nose, so sleeping and breathing through my mouth - I woke up every hour, almost ON the hour! I think I woke myself up snoring!
Came down to the recliner part way through the night... then back to bed when I was SO COLD... then back down here... back to bed when DH got up - now just rolling out again!
Can't "catch up" right now... need to go back to bed, where it is warmer... just took more OTC meds... oh I did message my Dr asking IF the blood work showed anything - and if a Rx could be called in for me... I am sure not... bit worth a try! Supposed to get my hair cut tonight... still going to try to get there - as trying to reschedule will be a nightmare!
Sorry all about me - but feeling pretty crappy right now... should eat, but don't feel hungry... and the only thing I "want" is ice cream! No protein in that! HA!
