Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all,
Let me tell you about yesterday's snowfall. They closed the dealership at 8, an hour early. I live 2 miles from there and was home in minutes. I have about 3 inches of snow, already plowed. Of course I am one of the lucky ones. Literally 1 mile down the main road from me is where the wall of snow was located. They got snow at the rate of 4 inches an hour. Once you passed that wall, they have anywhere from 1-1/2 to 2 FEET of snow. I'm not kidding!!!
My brother text me at about 5 pm to ask if I was home. I had just moved my car to the front of the dealership, maybe an inch of snow had fallen. My brother had 15 inches at that time. Wow! I can't remember the last time I was not in the snow area. But they said near the airport would be ok. Children were stuck in school. According to reports, the last children left a local school at 4am. People abandoned cars and walked home. What was nice is all of the concern coworkers have for each other. All of the salespeople and technicians asked where I lived. They would have driven me home if I lived in a snow area. Great feeling.
So, today is my day off. I will probably just putter around. Working PT job tonight, should be busy. Will be a French toast weekend, people will buy eggs, bread and milk ... even though they don't have much snow there either. I was very lucky and feel blessed.
Enjoy your day.

Joyce - I was wondering how you fared during yesterday's storm. Glad you didn't have issues getting home and are able to stay home most of today. It sounded like an adventure for many around you. It's 14 here and we got around 2" of snow early yesterday.
Jill - prayers for your DF and his medical team. What kind of cancer does he have? I hope he doesn't suffer too many side effects from the treatments.
Dottie - Good for you in getting those pool exercises done. It all helps. What did you take to the happy hour???
RUTH - I hope your temps warm up some. One of my DF's just left this morning for 6 weeks for the Rio Grand Valley. They are going to try being Winter Texans this year. Typically, they go to central FL but were tired of it there. I have her connected to John's DC's widow that lives down there ... 25 miles or so east of where they are staying. Jody can fill them in on tips of where to go, what to avoid, etc. And when, my DF's hubby is out golfing, her and Jody can go on a few "adventures". It will be good for both my DF and cousin-in-law.
I was able to get my tree finally taken down and most all the holiday stuff set out on the covered patio yesterday a.m. I finally got those items taken to the garage/barn around 7 last night. Still have the gift wrap to sort through and organize and one wreath to take down and get out. I hope to get out today (once again, I'm waiting for his RN) and pick up a wreath container, a few groceries (he is wanting chili), and baby shower gifts/wrap (for one of my Ohio DN's). I've been able to get DH to do some of his OT & PT the past two days...want to know how??? ~~~I withheld his morning coffee until he did some of them!! Told him that he won't get lunch or supper w/o doing more! LOL
Stay warm

Joyce, wow on all that snow. Glad to hear you didn’t get that much but even if they are prepared for snow when it comes down that fast it is impossible to keep the roads clear. Hope you are doing OK. Funny about calling it a French toast weekend. Besides buying milk, bread, cereal before a storm I always made sure I had the makings of chocolate chip cookies. The boys would enjoy them with hot chocolate after playing in the snow. Fun times, but I don’t miss snow.
Jill, hope the treatment goes OK for your dad. I hope you can get some rest so you can continue to care for him. Take care.
Cathy, happy to hear that you found a way to get John to do his PT/OT, whatever works. Hope the RN shows up so you can get out for a little while. John must be feeling better if he is giving you foods that he wants to eat. Yesterday I made the chili dip. Spread an eight ounce package of cream cheese in the bottom of a pie plate. Pour a can of chili – we like the chili without beans and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Microwave for about 5 min. and serve with tortilla chips, always a big hit.
Not sure about going to the pool today, only in the high 70s but the water is 85. We are heading out to dinner tonight but not till 5:30. Hi to Ruth, hope it is warming up for you. Have you been doing more planning for your trip to Hawaii? Prayers continue for all in need.

Good night all. Picked up the girls about 4:30, took them to McDonalds for dinner on the way home. Then they got to watch "Finding Dory" and eat popcorn & have hot chocolate. A good evening was had by all. They will go home in the morning when I go get my hair cut. Got our laundry finished this morning, then did 3 loads of the girls' laundry this evening. And we finished watching all 6 seasons of Downton Abbey. Really enjoyed it. Going to miss it.
Joy, I'm so happy to hear you didn't get the mountains of snow. Weird how there is a dividing line. That was so nice of the dealership people wanting to make sure you are safe.
Jill, I'm so sad to hear about your DF & your DS both having cancer. I will add them both to my prayer list.
Cathy, takes a while to get all the holiday decorations put away, doesn't it? I'm really going to sort out a bunch this winter when we work on the storage room. DH just hates it when I mention it! May get older DD to come help. Love how you get John to do therapy.
Dottie, funny you get the chocolate chip cookie fixings. That would be Stan's idea of emergency rations too! Enjoy the warm weather. I got the trip paid for today, now on to planning activities.
Time for bed. More in the am.
