Good evening!
Ruth, have you been able to find the crocheted bracelets? (Think I got you started on them!). Perhaps you put them with in the jewelry box- the reverse of me putting jewelry in with my crochet hooks! It would sure be nice if they showed up so you could share them with DGD. I am sure its wonderful to see her and Ds. Hope he can repair the refrigerator! Uncle Sam is good for many things, indeed.
Cj- happy reading. And I am glad to learn that the car is up and running.
Phyl- poor Delona, sounds like her stress level is high now. Its a blessing that she has a good friend to be with during these difficult times. I will pray for her Dd- that she heals quickly.
Very busy day- the next 2 are busy also. I am pretty sure that next week ought to be a bit easier- also I have Thursday off next week for a Jewish holiday. A day off will be nice.
Hi to Meg..... Ginny

No I wasn't able to find the crochet jewelry. I did have it out here but then when I cleaned off my "office" (the living room couch) I put it somewhere but can't find out where. I've looked everywhere I could think of. It'll show up right after they leave to go home.
Hello to CJ, PHyl, and Meg. Have a good night all. It takes over 6 hours to get to Yellow stone from here so it'll be awhile before the kids get home. They might stop somewhere to eat after they get back here to town. There really is nowhere to stop between here and there.
Meg, I hope Devin is having a good week at school.
Phyl, prayers will continue for Delona. It's not easy having to worry about an aged parent who apparently lives alone now.

Good morning!
Busy day here, so this might be my only hello for the day.
Ruth, so sorry you are not able to find the crochet bracelets. Believe me, I can identify with your frustration. think the next time I put something away in a "safe place" that of course I will never remember, I will write it down on a list on the fridge... its tough having to cook for guests when you are unsure of their schedule. I know you love seeing them, but there is a lot of work that goes into being a host/hostess.
Meg, so glad you were able to connect with so many friends and family! Great news that DGD's home is ok- many were not that fortunate. I do hope that today is the quiet day at home that you want and that you slept well.
Phyl- prayers continue for Delona and all that she is facing at this time. Hope you can get that counted cross stitch baby blanket done when you want to.
CJ- how are you doing?
Busy afternoon for me and I will not get back from work until late. Hope to get some crocheting done in the afternoon though Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - sorry you couldn't find the bracelets Meg - Glad your family in Florida was O.K. Phyl - You sound busy, but I'm glad you were able to get out with your friend Ginny - Hope you can hang in there until the weekend and next week and have some slower days I went out in the car today and didn't have any problems, so hopefully the new alternator took care of everything. I went to the Amish Market and bought too much junky food but I'm just going to eat and move on. I've been needing a day "off" from worrying about everything I put in my mouth. I haven't done any crafting but hope to get back to my quilting and crocheting soon. Take care everyone!

Hello Ladies. Weather is perfect here today. Not to hot, not too cold. Still extremely hazy due to fires. It had cleared a ittle bit for a couple days.
Ds and dgd just went out to rent a movie and ds was taking dgd to a fast food restaurant that he used to hang around in when he was a teenager. They did invite us to come along but we didn't go. It's good for her to have father and daughter time.
CJ, I'm glad to hear that your car is working well after getting the alternator. One time I took my vehicle to find out what was wrong, they replaced the alternator and I had the same problem but I think that was only because I rarely drove it.. I gave it to my neighbor and he drives it a lot and has had no problem.
Ginny, it does seem like you're having a very busy week. Only one more day in the week.
I don't have much left on my baby blanket. I did show dgd a picture of the one bracelet I intended to show her and she loved it. I don't know where else to look though.

Hello CJ and all who stop in later. It's a rainy and cold day today. Ds and dgd were going to go sightseeing today and had asked us to go along but because of the cold and rain we didn't go. DDIl's aunt had invited them to a restaurant for dinner this evening so that's where they are now.
Yesterday after they got home from having lunch out dgd and I sat and I crocheted while she knitted. She had decided to knit a bracelet which she then did and it turned out really pretty. I crocheted her two kinds of bracelets and she has had the one on since I made it. Still haven't found the others. Then we looked at really, really old family pictures from my mohter's ancestors and a few of my father's. We found some baby books from when I was an infant and some of my report cards from first and second grade and she really liked looking at those. AFter dinner dgd watched a movie and dh, ds and I looked at some old pictures of our family and some of his school papers that were in the box. I thought I had sent them all to him.
This morning dgd and I knitted and crocheted again and I showed her how to bind off which she had been taught but it's been awhile and she forgot until I showed her
CJ, now that you have all the pieces laid out for the next project it won't be long until you get started on the main part and get it all done. It's such fun to work on our projects and so satisfying when we complete them.
DS actually cooked dinner for us last night. Steak on the grill and I made my special microwave potatoes then we had some ice cream that ds had told us about and that he stopped and got while he was out yesterday. Yes it's great having them and seeing them but honestly it's always great to get back to our own routines also

A short good evening!!
Ruth, so agreed, it will be very nice for your life to return to normal. How awesome to have this time with DDG and Ds. Glad he cooked for you too.
CJ- sometimes that is what. You need to do- lay everything out so you can see what you will be working on. A nice way to get the creative juices flowing.
Meg, hope you slept well. How is your eye healing?
I am tired....got in late last night from my trip. No crafting today- and I am heading to bed.
See you tomorrow. Ginny

Hello cj. Phyl. Ginny & Ruth, The days seem to go by so fast and another week is almost over. I have been working on Devin's slipper boots but need to finish then. Today I went to my Knit wits GP. and I worked on a cap that I started a few weeks ago. It's small and easy to take with me on Friday when I go to Knit Wits. One of the ladies today brought a big box of mostly new skeins of yarn to give away. It was very nice yarn but I resisted because I do not want any more yarn until I use up what I have. Obviously she was getting rid of some of her stash. Sometimes you just have to be ruthless and get rid of it.
Ruth, I am glad you are having a wonderful time with your DGD. Sixteen is a nice age when you can share family stories with her and I am sure she enjoyed looking at old photographs. That is something she will remember also doing needlework with Grandma. You are blessed. It is fun to look at those old report cards.
cj, I think I would be very tempted at the Amish market. I am glad you were able to get your car repaired and you are happy to have wheels you can depend on.
Ginny, you keep so busy with work and your DGkids. I hope you find time to rest this weekend.
Phyl, I am sorry about your dear friend's los sand I know you will be a comfort for her. I will keep her in my prayers.
The weather has cooled some this week and we have had temps. in the 80s. I am really looking forward to some nice cool days.

hello all. It's still cold here today but it is sunny at least. Ds and dgd didnt go out today either. We haven't crafted yet today. Dgd is watching a movie. Ds and dh are talking. I'll crochet in a few minutes. Dgd has asked me to make her some fingerless glove and went thru some patterns online and showed me the ones she likes best. I have one glove done. I'll make some for her sisters too. Tomorrow evening we'll have a birthday cake for her and presents. Last evening the restaurant they went to with ddil's aunt gave them a cake but ds says she'll love to have a cake I make too for tomorrow evening. We have her favorite flavor of ice cream too.
Meg, I know you're very good at making caps and I'm sure Devin is going to love his slippers. I'm sure you'll be happier with cooler weather and save money on air conditioning when you don't have to use it anymore.
I hope you're all having a great weekend and doing things you enjoy best.

Hi Ruth, I am glad you are having a nice family day at home with your DS & DGD. I guess it is time to think about winter fingerless gloves and I am sure your DGD will them especially because DGM made them,
I was going to bring DD home this afternoon but it didn't work out so perhaps tomorrow I can have her come for a little while. Devin has gone off to his other DGMs and will be back tomorrow and DS is at work. So I have the house all to myself and I will read and perhaps work on Devin's slippers. I have one finished and now I have to knit the second one.
So that's my Saturday how is yours?

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - Sounds like you are having a good time with your family. I bet it was interesting and fun looking at the old pictures and documents. And what a nice treat to have your DS cook dinner for you. Meg - I'm glad you were able to get to Knits and are working on a new projects. Glad your weather is cooler too. Yes, the Amish Market makes food that is very difficult to resist. Ginny - Hope you got some rest last night and have some time to relax and craft this weekend. Phyl - Hope you are busy crafting. I put together 3 small quilt tops today. I'm glad to have finished (at least the tops anyway) those projects. One of them is a table runner and the fabric in it has crows sitting on a fence. I've had the fabric for many years and always wanted to use it, so I'm glad I did. One of the other ones is the Gingham/Buffalo Plaid quilt top and that went together really well and I like the pattern. This one is orange and white, and I'd like to do another one in different colors. Take care everyone!

Good evening!!
CJ- sounds like you are back into crafting- and that is impressive that you were able to get 3 small quilt tops put together. DId you use your new machine to do that? SO glad to hear that you were able to use some fabric that you always wanted to work into something.....are you planning on keeping that table runner with the crows on the fence?
Meg, I figure if you got to Knit wits then all is well in your world. Is the cap you are working on for an adult or a child? Hope that you can work things out to have DD come home tomorrow- with the cooler weather it would be nice. I do hope you enjoyed having the house to yourself. Good for you not bringing in more yarn. Its tough to say no to free yarn, though!
Ruth, it sure sounds as though this has been a very pleasant visit with Ds and DGD. Although it will be nice to return to "normal", this has been a wonderful visit and a time to renew relationships. Are you going to try to finish the fingerless gloves for DGD while she is still visiting you?
Dd came home just for the night and will be returning to school tomorrow. today we spent a lot of time running errands, and getting her to a doctor for a follow up. She will return to school in the am, so I ought to have a bit of time to myself tomorrow. We will most likely not see Dd again until Oct 7- so I made a point to spend a lot of time with her. Its been warm and muggy here, and I am hoping to get some cooler weather soon. Have a good night. Ginny
