Cj, it does sound indeed like you're back in full crafting mode The quilt tops sound beautiful and I know they're going to be beautiful in the finished product too
Ginny, it's always a blessing to have our children with us and doing things with us even if it is just a doctor visit. I know she's happy you're with her. I'll be praying for safe travel for her as she goes back tomorrow.
DGD and I cooked dinner together tonight. It was so much fun. I told you I don't use recipes. Well her parents go strictly by recipes so that's what she did too. She messaged her mom to send her the recipes. What we made was biscuits and sausage gravy which we all love. Of course sausage is fatty. Well apparently her mother doesn't drain it when it's cooked before she adds other ingredients then after it's done she adds 2 T butter to it so it had more fat than we usually eat but it was still delicious.
It's great that you'll have time to relax tomorrow afternoon before you have to go back to work Monday. Is your day off next Friday?
Meg, how are you this evening.
OH, I might get this pair of gloves done before she leave. I have one glove done except for weaving in ends. It doesn't take long to do one but while they're out tomorrow I have to bake the cake and wrap presents but I should still have time. They're going after church and where they're going is 50 miles from here I think so they'll be awhile.
Well I'll "see" you ladies tomorrow

Good morning!
Ruth, sounds like you are having a great time with Ds and DGD. I know some people cook by the book....and some just wing it. The biscuits and sausage gravy sound good- but a whole lot fatty. (Honestly, that might bother my sensitive gut). I am sure it was a joy to cook with DGD and just spend precious time with her. You amaze me with how quickly you can turn out a pair of fingerless gloves...I know you say they are easy to make, but still its work. Bet those fingerless gloves will be all the more special to her because DGD saw them while they were in progress.
Dd left us early this am and is already back to school. She was meeting friends at school to attend church together - and then had a very busy day planned.
Not sure what my day will be like, I am cooking dinner now....sausage and peppers- which will be in the crock pot for whenever.
Hope everyone has a good day....
I looked at some fabric on Etsy- has anyone ever bought from them before? (So yes, I got some crafting time in). Have a blessed day Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm glad you were able to spend time with your daughter this weekend. Your dinner sounds good. I've never bought anything on Etsy. I'll keep the Crow quilt for myself. I've loved that fabric for years and always wanted to use it. Ruth - It sounds like you are enjoying this time with your family so much. I'm glad you are able to get some crafting done and hope you get the gloves done before your DGD leaves. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are getting in some crafting. I love sausage gravy and biscuits. I still make it from time to time but I use turkey sausage, and half the milk for the gravy and usually reduced calorie bread instead of biscuits. It's still good though. I did the quilts on my smaller machine. I think I'm a little bit intimidated by the faster machine, so I'll have to take my time and practice on it. I knew I was in the mood to craft yesterday so I did everything I could. I haven't done a thing today I'm having some tooth pain, feels like it's under a crown, so I'll have to call the Dentist tomorrow and see about an appointment. I'm hoping it's not the wisdom tooth he's been wanting to pull for a few years - I've been resisting that. I was hoping for a quiet September, but I guess that's not in the cards for me. Take care everyone!

Ginny, sausage and peppers is delicious. Dh and I had some last week. I never made them in the crock pot though. I'll definitely have to try that. And it's so wonderful that your dd gets together with friends to go to church!! And it's great she was home at least for a short time so that you were able to see her. I've never bought fabric on etsy. I've bought a couple other things from them and had good luck. My ds and dil used to buy on Etsy all the time and sometimes had a good result and sometimes not. Ds has sold things on there too.
CJ, Great that you got those quilts done yesterday and yes, it does take time, practice, and patience to use a new style of machine. You'll get it
Just got done wrapping dgd's gifts, making and frosting her cake, and doing prep for dinner when they get home. I'm making pork tenderloin on the tfal grill which is like a Geo Foreman and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to cook the two that come in the package. I have them all prepped with all the silver skin off and seasonings on them so when they're home and ready to eat all will be done but now I'm resting because all that wore me out. Dh is going to make some fried cabbage to go with it and I make mashed potatoes that are good reheated so I made those in advance too.
It's a nice pleasant day, sunny but cool.
I haven't done any crafting yet. I worked on the gloves last night and the second one is almost done so I'm pretty sure I'll have them done before she leaves but after they go home I'll make more for her and some for her sisters although I really don't know how big their hands are but I know the ages so there are charts. The ones I'm making right now sure look funny when you just look at them but once they're on a hand they look really nice.So after dinner, cake and presents we'll all be sitting and I'll work on those while talking. We looked at pictures again before they went out. No church because ds has a really bad cold and didn't think he should be sneezing and coughing during a church service and spreading germs. I always ended up with a cold or something whenever I flew anywhere too.
After I rest I'm going to clean up the kitchen mess I made while cooking and baking.
The plan for tomorrow is to go to a buffet place called Pizza Ranch where they serve Pizza, chicken and then all the other usual things you get at a buffet place. I'm not fond of pizza at all but I do like their chicken and they have great broccoli cheese soup. They have a nice salad bar too and a fair dessert bar but I probably won't bother with dessert. When you go in they ask if there's a particular pizza you would like and then if it's not already on the pizza bar they make one esp for you and bring it to the table to serve you however many slices you want. I don't use that feature but dh sometimes does. It'll be way too much gluten but I'll recover after they leave. It's also a Christian run company which is always a plus for me.

A short and simple hello from me....I better think about going to bed as I slept poorly last night.
CJ- glad you are keeping the quilt top for yourself, cause you love the fabric so much! You will get used to the new machine- and perhaps its better to build up your confidence on the smaller machine, moving to the large one when you are good and ready. ANd I hope you do not need an extraction, but if it is a simple extraction that is not so bad. Like you I use turkey sausage- as a matter of fact the sausage and peppers I made today was turkey sausage.
Ruth, for the sausage and peppers, i brown the sausage first, and then add the peppers and onions with the browned sausage...and walk away from it in the crock pot. tomorrow I am making beef stroganoff- my friend the crock pot will be put to use again. Pizza ranch sounds like fun- and I agree, its great when you can patronize a Christian company. For that reason, I love Chik Fil A- the food is great there too. Make sure you do not eat a trigger food though- one that will aggravate any medical conditions. I do hope Ds feels better and that DGD enjoyed her birthday celebration. BTW, roast pork tenderloin smells amazing when it cooks.
Thanks I think I will try Etsy- and order the charm pack. Will do that on Tuesday as tomorrow is very busy,
Hi to Meg, and Phyl. Hard to believe tomorrow is MOnday again. Ginny

Ginny, I think we still have a Chik fil a, but I'm not sure. It was in the mall which I haven't been to in years and I don't think I ate at any of the food places except for Subway one time when I was there with maybe my dd. We only have one mall and many of the stores are closing because people just don't go there anymore.
Dgd did enjoy her birthday celebration, was very surprised that we did that, and she loved the gifts we gave her. I got hints from her mom.
