Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from WWs, had a gain, and is recommitting to the program. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. We love to use first names here, so tell us yours when you post.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes it is harder to keep it off and even if we fail, we keep trying, which is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, I count on talking to you guys each day and I am blessed to count you as friends.

Good morning friends,
Robin - reading your comment from last night, I'd have to chime in that the weather experts have NO FREAKING CLUE what is going to happen. Ha!
Weather.com., weather underground, and the national weather service online all showed my particular area in the 2-4 inches of snow range. A couple of the locals meteorologists had similar predictions, one had us at 1 inch and one had us in the 4-6 inch range. The bulk of the snow was to fall overnight and just a little light snow adding on this morning. I woke up this morning seeing everything outside in it's normal form. No white blanket what-so-ever. It 's flurrying out there now, but it's blowing around so much, I don't see how we will possibly get any accumulation at all.
I could hear rain falling most of the evening, so we may have some ice formation - I haven't checked it yet. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're not blanketed in snow. I just hope we didn't get ice instead - I haven't really checked or seen any news yet. And while I won't miss the absence of frozen stuff, I was looking forward to spending the next 2-3 days "stuck" in the house with DH. When you don't have the option of getting out, it just feels more acceptable to spend the day watching netflix and amazon prime beside a roaring fire. Ha! Now I'll just have to feel like a big ol' lazy slug if we do so.
Hoping that everybody has favorable weather. I'll BBL

Haha Lora I saw the pic you posted on FB and it looks like you got the same dusting we did yesterday. When I watched the Weather Channel last night it seemed as if Atlanta was in the "iffy" column for getting snow - they weren't sure where the line would be. Good you went home early though and ice is nothing to mess with. Worse than snow, in fact. Plus it's supposed to get really cold now, right? So whatever was sleet is going to turn to ice. Winter. 'Nuff said.
Going to my meeting for WI shortly. My scale is down below the weight of my last WI so at last I'm past the same 5-6 lbs I've been gaining and losing since October.
My neighbor and I are going to one of the live in HD operas today in a town near us and then to Bed Bath and Beyond where I need to get some new cutting boards. The last wood ones I bought, while cheap, warped and split, so I'm going for bamboo this time which is more pricey but lasts longer. Might get a little plastic one as well. I'm sure I'll do a little additional impulse buying while I'm there - they have some sales going on and I have a zillion of the 20% off coupons. Then out to dinner.
This morning after the meeting I want to make the unstuffed cabbage soup and maybe Hungry Girl's low cal corn muffins.
Will bbl. I haven't had my coffee yet, can't wait to WI so I can guzzle my travel mug.

Good morning - we have have between 5 and 8 inches of snow this morning. It is still coming down pretty hard. I called driving school and told them I would like to reschedule for next Saturday. I am not so worried about me in the snow but other people in the snow. Robin, people in the south get super crazy over snow. They don't know how to drive in it. We just do not get enough snow for the DOT to be super prepared or for people to know how to drive in it. This morning they are saying visibility is less than 1/2 mile. I went to the grocery store yesterday and I FORGOT to get milk - well I did not realize we needed milk. We always have milk and i came home to find out - no milk - oh well we will go without for the weekend because I am not going to tempt going to the store. If DS wants to go out later I will ask him to grab us some. I have a hashbrown casserole in the oven for breakfast and a very hearty chili in the slow cooker. My plans for the day - is to shower and then keep PJs on and cuddle in my recliner with my little dog all day

Andi if your cabbage soup turns out good, will you share the recipe? I love soups and chilis this time of year.

Hi Everyone, I missed reading and posting the last few days. It's snowing here. They are saying it's going to snow about 2-3 inches today. I decided not to go to up to the camp with my friend this weekend. I wouldn't have wanted to drive in the snow up there. I took Jasmine to the vet the other night. She had more blood work done. She gave me an appetite stimulant for her. Shortly after having ingested it though she was really meowing a lot and then got sick. I felt so bad that it was causing her pain. I really don't want to give her another one of its going to cause her to get sick but she is eating more since the initial time. I was hoping to get to the gym before the snow started. I just had time though to run to the vet's office to get her some more food. I really need some things too but not going back out to get it . I got the approval from my supervisor for our sister trip in the fall. ( Paris and Amsterdam ) She texted me and said it was on condition she could go. I said if she could fit into my suitcase. She wants it not to be public though because that time of year is really not a good time to be going on vacation. I had hoped my sister's would go in tbe summer but they didn't want to go then. I am still pretty ambivalent about leaving Jasmine but she may not be around by then anyway and if she is and suffering I may have to make a decision to have to put her to sleep but I will cross that bridge when it comes. Today will be a good day to do some cleaning, continue to reduce clutter, and start reading my library book that I never started and hang out with Jasmine. Tommorow depending on whether this event is still on, I might go to it. It is an exhibit at the Jewish Museum downtown and then dinner someplace. Have a great day and hope everyone is staying warm.

Lora, I agree, icy roads are much worse. I saw your FB posts last night, so nice to be in snug and warm.
Jana, glad you are rescheduling the driving school. I really thought you got more snow normally. I know that DC often gets walloped at the same time we do.
Andi, I hope the snow stays south of you if you are going to be going out. Right now here is started very lightly around 9 am, which is when I went out to do some errands, then picked up about a half hour ago. It is kind of an icy snow, but the roads didn't feel slippery quite yet, but those who were out were mostly driving slowly. That is except for the person in the huge SUV that was tailgating me because I was going the speed limit on the 2 lane main road by my house. What these people are thinking I will never know. I will admit that no one wants to go only 30 mph here, but they put up one of these signs entering the village where it flashes "slow down" and "too fast" if you get to about 37, which honestly feels normal.
Janet, good idea not to go to the camp. Exciting that you are planning that sister trip, I hope you end up going.
I am in for the day, maybe will watch some Amazon fire, but also will be doing reading. I am getting to the end of Underground RR, so decided if I should finish it today or tomorrow. DH will be watching football, but we will be cooking dinner at home and I have that all worked out. We have some nice steaks in the freezer, I had most of what I needed in the house, but got some low point snack crackers, a small watermelon, and some clementines to make sure I had that here. I have 1 pt string cheese.

Robin, you sound all set for the day, whatever the weather does. I also hate when someone tailgates me and have been known to pull off the road to let those people by because they really rattle me and I'm afraid that if I have to stop suddenly they'll hit me. I really don't know what's wrong with those people. It is snowing now here as well, doggone it. I really want to get to this opera. I guess I should check the weather service before I go out in an hour. I'm taking a Quest bar and a banana with me since I won't be eating much lunch today, just ate breakfast.
I was down 2 lbs at WI today. Woo hoo! Because that is really down like 7 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I finally broke through the 5 lb barrier and am looking forward to continuing the momentum this week. The meeting was pretty crowded. Not standing room only but still full. Lots of new materials but I don't think anything in the program itself has changed, just repackaged. I'll get to looking it over tonight or tomorrow.
Janet, so sorry about Jasmine. This is the hardest thing, isn't it? But great news on the trip!
Jana, I'll be happy to share the recipe with you if it tastes good. If you go on the laaloosh.com site it's the first pic and recipe that comes up. The only weird thing is that she doesn't tell you how to prep the cabbage and if you need to use a whole head, so I shredded it and used most of it and filled the pot all the way up. Hope it cooks down. It does smell good at least and really super low points. With snow outside it does seem like the perfect meal. And can you share the hashbrown casserole recipe? Btw, I think I missed your answer to my question about the program you use to train for the 10K. Do you mind sharing? I keep thinking if I have a goal to work toward it might help motivate me.
Which reminds me, thanks Susie for giving me a pass on the gym right now. It makes sense.
Have a good afternoon all.

Andi, thanks for telling me about laaloosh, I really have to check that out. I have a very old unstuffed stuffed cabbage recipe, it is not for soup, but really tastes like the stuffed cabbage my mother makes.

Hi ROs...still snowing here so DH and I are going nowhere today. Our WW meeting was cancelled, so I hope to get there next Sat.
Andi - YIPPEE for breaking the 5 lb barrier...that is often just what it takes to get totally dedicated again. Hope you get to the opera - I know how much you enjoy them. If I had some cabbage, I would put it in my potato soup to lower the calories and up the fiber.
Jana - I am surprised the class wasn't cancelled with them wanting people to stay off the roads, etc. Lots of talk about soup and I am making a pot of potato soup...used to make it often, but I haven't for years.
Janet - yeah for the trip being approved. Sure hope DH is doing well enough that I can visit DD in Madrid the first week of April. The museum trip made me think of the passing of the Holocaust survivor last week who started Richmond's Holocaust Museum... wonderful guy with a fabulous survival story...I used to take my students there each year and thought it was so well done and so much more convenient than making a trip to DC. A farmer hid his family in a hole in the ground in a potato field for 8 months. Hope Jasmine does not have any other reaction to the meds.
Robin - I grew up in the mountains of western MD and we had tons of snow. When I moved to VA I got a kick out of everyone rushing to the grocery store when it called for snow. Jana is right...you have to look out for the other guy. I took my kids out to drive in the snow when they were growing up so they would know how.

Andi check your email and FB messages. I sent you the training document for the 10K.
The hashbrown casserole is pretty easy but not low in points - so this is a warning - LOL
1 bag of hashbrowns (I get the pack the in refrigerated section of the grocery store - but you can use frozen ones too - but thaw them out first) 10 eggs 1 cup of milk sausage (I use the Jim Dean turkey sausage that is precooked in the pouch) you can use any sausage but you will need to cook it and crumble it if you don't buy the precooked kind shredded cheese
Preheat your oven to 375. Spray a baking dish with some butter spray
beat the eggs and milk together
put the hashbrowns on the bottom of the dish, put the sausage on top and then top with the milk and eggs mixture.
Put foil on top and bake in the oven between 30 and 45 minutes (until you stick a fork in and it comes out clean)
Remove the foil and put cheese on top - I use a lot of cheese - usually 2 cups. Place back in the oven until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it sit for 5 minutes before eating.
Susie when I called driving school to tell them I wasn't coming the woman acted like I had 3 heads or something. I am sure at 5 p.m. when it was done I would have been stuck there and would have needed Robin to come get me. My little Civic sits so low. I rescheduled for next Saturday.
I have been super lazy today - took a nap with my little dog. I have eaten to much today and been a slug. Tomorrow I need to get some laundry done and hopefully move some more.
I did go out and shovel off our back porch with a dust pans - (our snow shovel is broken, go figure) so my little dog would at least go outside. I decided to shovel off the front porch and sets and I even got most of the snow off my windows and hood of my car.

Thanks, Jana, I thought I kept up with my FB messages but I missed this, will definitely look. I didn't see anything in my email but will check that again as well. The casserole looks fantastic but I can't spare the points for it right now.
Robin and Jana, the cabbage soup is not at all good. It's got too much cabbage in it so it's more stew-like than soup, which would be ok except that it's bland and ground chicken is just not very tasty, at least in this form. So I don't recommend the recipe and am not sure whether to look up other recipes and try to fix it, or just call it quits and throw the whole thing out. Bummer.
The opera today was just wonderful. Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and I bought cutting boards and the new copper frying pan that is oven safe and supposedly nothing will stick to. Hope copper is safe... Then went to Charlie Brown's where I thought I was having a low points dinner but it turned out to be a lot more due to the oil in everything. And I had to have some butter on my half baked potato. I'm still only over by a point for the day so it's fine, but going into the meal I had 18 points to spend. They can go fast with the saturated fat penalty and the higher "cost" of olive oil which is what I had on my salad. Still made good choices so I'm ok with it.
We're unexpectedly getting a lot of snow here and the roads coming home tonight were terrible. It's supposed to stop by 9 PM and by the morning I am hopeful I'll be able to get out of here, supposed to meet a friend for breakfast and then go see DGS.
Sleep well, everyone.

Oh, Robin, I'd love the unstuffed cabbage recipe you have if you wouldn't mind sharing it. I'd like to make it once I get over my trauma of the soup...

Andi, I used to have a recipe written down, but for some reason, of the hundreds of cookbooks I have, I can't find that one. I make in now without a recipe. You can break it down and it is not bad point wise, but it's not 1 point. I make meatballs out of low fat ground beef and rice. Shred cabbage and slice an onion. I use a large can (28 oz) of canned tomatoes, dice if you can find, otherwise I squish them when I am putting them in the pot, a can of plain tomato sauce, about 1/4 cup brown sugar, which you can use less of, I am estimating so may only use 1/8 cup, salt and pepper. This is the Jewish type of sweet and sour stuffed cabbage, so I actually use sour salt, but you can use lemon juice too. It works out better if you make it on the top of the stove, but I have also made it in a crockpot, it's just that if I leave it all day it doesn't mix well. I can probably find some kind of recipe for it that is similar to what I do.
