Good evening: Missed yesterday and this morning. Yesterday I had a conference call at 7:30 am and a full morning before driving to my meeting in Sacramento. Met my college roommate and her two sons (aged 12 and 13) for lunch. We walked around the capitol too---the only day it hasn't rained for a while so we lucked out. Got home, made dinner, and I was pooped! Yes, it seemed like a long week!
This morning I went to my WW meeting and the new materials are really nice. A lot of people in our meeting are having good success with the SP program. It's nice to hear since so many complained about it when the program changed. It makes SO much sense to me to minimize sugars and saturated fats. Anyway, there is also a refocus on Simply Filling to remind people of that option. I always like the New Year meetings---a good way to refocus. Got my nails done today (after 4 weeks they needed it and it was nice!) It's been a good day!

Jo: Well, glad that you are getting the chance to help other people at work. I agree with Sue--don't "overthink" the reasons why others are getting the things that they did...you still picked up some and it could be all re-shuffled again anyway, right? So glad to hear that DH is feeling better! It is NO fun to have sick folks in the house! Yep, we are running tomorrow in the pouring rain. We have our marathon next weekend so it is a mental thing---have to get in a good run to feel "ready". It's okay...we are running from the gym so that we can return, rinse off in the showers, and change into dry clothes before heading home. It's the best option for a day like tomorrow. How are your exercises going for you? Nice that your office is allowed to leave early! A nice start to the weekend! Brrrr....so cold out your way!
Carole: Oh, I hope that you really are getting better!! Don't overdo it....Yes, I agree with you about the flu shot. DH didn't get his flu shot and he had the sore throat like you did, an achy body, and a LOT of coughing. His is much better, but it is 11 days into it. I am a believer in the flu shot! Nice that you could still see Eden today. Wow, still so cold there! Yes, tomorrow is when our BIG rain hits and it is supposed to last for at least 5 days...10-20 inches of rain! Now that you've seen where we live, you know that we don't live in a "low" place where it floods. We do have lots of flooded roads though--makes for treacherous driving and I am always afraid of wind and trees blowing over because they are so loose in the ground. No snow here since Monday--hovering around 35 degrees in the morning and peaking at about 45 so it is a COLD rain. Oh well, it's winter so we will grin and deal with it! Hope that you are truly feeling better!

Sue: Good for you for getting the swimming in. What a fun evening with friends! I am amazed that you can stay up that late---I'm a wimp! Your next weekend sounds fun too--good idea to plan the swim for Saturday to stick with your goal. Before you know it, you'll be recovering from surgery and those pool days will be your "gas in the tank" for recovery. I love having those friends like that who are just so incredibly comfortable---we all need to have them!
Jenny: Glad that you are finally feeling better. Sounds like you had what my DH has had...miserable stuff! Are you done with your training at work? I hope so. Did you get to the WW meeting today? I really liked ours. I got hooked on Stranger Things about 3 months ago and watched all of them--interesting story. I need to watch the other one that you mentioned (name has slipped my mind). I started watching it when it first came on HBO and then fell behind. I really like Kevin Spacey though! Hope that you have a good weekend!

Shelly: Safe travels to you as you head to TX...glad that you have others that you ride with. Still hoping that Team National works for you in the future. Wow to the people who don't show up to work....they don't get paid for that time, right? They shouldn't! Unless they use their sick time. I remember being amazed at some of our teachers who had NO sick time left and they would have young children who they needed to take care of (when the kids were sick). I have about a year of sick time saved up--and I stayed home when both of the boys would get sick---never used it all up. Frustrating for you I am sure! Hoping to hear that you had a good day Lisa: I look forward to hopefully seeing that picture you get tomorrow of the 4 generations! Glad that DD will see Kennedy (and you too Sorry that it all became so complicated. Sometimes, as our parents age, I find that my mom benefits from not having to make decisions (I make them for her) and by not telling her too much about things....she seems to have a harder time with all of it. Hope that you have a good day with them. Any word on your daughter and the potential job? Fingers crossed for you there!

Christine: Good for you for raising independent daughters that know what to do with driving in the snow! Love that they feel independent and are responsible. Uggh to how much walking on STAIRS that you are having to do--seems like the worst scenario for your knee. Have you been able to get on your exercise bike yet or do you have to wait until after the girls leave? So glad that Carly can help with the testing--- a true win/win for you both. What is happening with your mom and the car? Hoping that you got that all worked out! Be careful in that cold weather--no slipping/falling for you!

Nadine: I hope that you are having a good weekend and finding a balance with Sidney in the house! Time to sign off. Sitting here on the couch while DH watches Supercross. Nice to just sit and read and plan meals for the week. I am not a big Supercross fan so I don't miss watching the screen See you all tomorrow!
