This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey

So grateful none of my family was on the Las Vegas strip when the shootings occurred. They live there but most locals rarely go to the strip.

This was part of an e-mail I received today.
"In the wake of the horrific shooting in Las Vegas, our first instinct should be to pray for the victims, their families, and all those who were wounded in this act of pure, senseless evil.
But sadly, everything in America now seems to be political, even in the midst of tragedy."

Don't really have any words for what happened in LV. This guy was very methodical .... somebody knows something....he was all over the country....how does this happen? It is like he is a serial killer that just needed something else. I find it hard to believe that they can't find anything. There has to be a storage locker or some other homes he owns or something. Maybe they have found something but they just can't share with the public. I do understand this....so I'm just letting it be for now.

How about Hillary, joke of the month:
Hillary Clinton moved to take the heat off Harvey Weinstein Friday by outright calling President Trump a “sexual assaulter” – while roundly dismissing past allegations of sexual impropriety against her husband as old news.
Clinton made the comments during an interview with BBC's Andrew Marr, who asked about the allegations of sexual assault made against Democratic mega-donor and Hollywood producer Weinstein.
“This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it's in entertainment, politics,” Clinton said. “After all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.”
Marr responded by pointing out Clinton has dismissed allegations made by women against her husband, former President Bill Clinton, that Trump highlighted during the hard-fought presidential campaign.
“That has all been litigated,” Clinton replied. “That was subject of a huge investigation in the late '90s and there were conclusions drawn. That was clearly in the past.”

Hi Geri,
Hillary needs to keep her mouth shut because she only makes herself look worse. Apparently she and Bill are not talking to each other now because he wanted her to make changes in her book. She got so mad that she threw the manuscript at him and since then they are not talking to each other. I think she is a few bricks short of a load. I suppose she is planning to run for POUS again.
I understand that Diane Feinstein is deciding whether to run for another 6 years in the Senate. She is one of the 2 Senators representing California. She is 84 years of age and has been in the Senate for years and if she was elected again for a 6 year term she would be 90 when her term ended. I am younger than she is and I can't imagine taking on an important job like a Senator. I think it's time she retired and went back to San Francisco. Of course another Democrat will replace her.

Meg, when I saw what she said, I had to laugh. Where are all the pink hatted ladies against Weinstien? Or however his name is spelled. He looks like a pig. Slick Willie is a pig too.

We have all been told for years about how young women who want to actresses have been approached by people like Harvey Weinstein to audition on the couch. I am sure in the past young wmen were too embarrassed to speak up about these jerks who used their power to take sexual advantage of them. Even Bill Clinton used the power of his office to seduce young women. What an example he set for men. Hillary may say it was in the past but it will be in the history books for a very long time'

Latest Hillary joke:
Speaking with the BBC’s Graham Norton, Clinton explained her last-minute absence, saying she had fallen “down the stairs” while carrying a cup of coffee; injuring her foot and fracturing at least one toe.
"I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards,” said Hillary.
"I tried to get up and it really hurt. I've broken my toe. I've received excellent care from your excellent health service,” she added.
Hillary’s unscheduled absence raised eyebrows around the UK on Monday morning, with television and radio hosts scrambling to explain Clinton’s delay.
“Hillary Clinton has been delayed this morning, as I've already said ... she's not going to make it before the end of the programme. I'm really, really sorry about that. I think you probably understand just how sorry I am,” said host Jane Garvey.
She was running and wearing heels?? Fell backwards? There were photos of her practically being carried to her limo during the campaign. Her publicists need to give better excuses.

Geri, that is funny. Can you imagine her running down the stairs carrying a cup of coffee and wearing high heels. That is quite a feat for a woman her age. I would have left the coffee behind and walked slowly down probably holding on to the bannister if there was one. She is lucky she didn't fall on her face. Poor Hillary I am glad the wonderful British National Service was able to fix her toe.
