Good morning, Just started a thread but saw that Carole posted hers right before. Good morning Carole! It is SUPER windy and rainy here in CA....hoping that we don't have too many trees fall--scary on the roads.
We are supposed to do our long run today and are meeting at the gym to run from there (so that we can dry off in there before climbing in our cars to go home). We might break down and take over the treadmills....we'll see. It's nice to at least have options! Too bad that it's the week before the marathon though---it's a mental thing.

LOL Not such a Sunday FUNDAY for me... STILL feel like CRAP! OMG When does it end?? I am guessing it is something more than a headcold - but I truly don't think it's the flu... no outward signs of the flu... but whatever it is - it's killing me!! Thank God I have a scheduled annual appointment tomorrow... to Hell with the usual check ups, all I want is something to make this go AWAY!! It is still "just" my nasal passages BLOCKED... my throat scratchy - not "sore"... ears don't hurt... no chest "congestion"... Being up at 2:30 AM to make hot tea is getting OLD...I think I have drank a whole bottle of NyQuil and used a whole jar of Vick's... don't be jealous... don't I paint a pretty picture?? I sleep WITH my hooded sweatshirt ON...whether I am in bed or in the recliner... NOT feeling hungry, but pick at whatever is around...NO ENERGY to get anything DONE... did most of the dishes - then cooked dinner - so Yup, more dishes for today!!
Sorry - don't mean to be such a downer - just feeling miserable, with no end in sight!!
Meanwhile - PLEASE SOMEONE tell me what YOU have for FUN planned today...PLEASE!!!!

Hey, I just saw that I am a "gold" member--woohoo! Working my way up to Carole's status So, I have planned meals for the week and got up early to finish my shopping list. Planning to do my shopping after the run today and get things ready for a successful week. I was looking at Simply Filling just out of curiosity (I remember Carole really liking it) and I am so NOT into all of the "fat free" things---especially cheese. Think I will stick with my SP plan for now. I think that most of the foods that I eat are on the Simply Filling list and that is what is important. Menu for the week (still deciding on days): 1. Roasted Chicken (in the crockpot) with green beans and brown rice (maybe some kind of nice bread for the boys) 2. Tortellini Soup 3. Chicken Burrito Bowls 4. Shepherd's Pie 5. Tacos Tacos make our list every week--everyone around here likes them and they are a good option.

Oh Carole--bummer! I had really hoped that you had turned the corner on this bug that you've had. So sorry to hear that it's not the case. Maybe you should try to survive on a variety of low-sodium soups? Maybe just have Tracy or Ken pick up about 8 cans and make that your mantra? So sorry to hear about it Glad to hear that you have a doctor appt. Sheesh...at this rate, you'll finally start feeling better and then you'll have to do the colonoscopy prep! Looking forward to it being next Saturday for you!! Hope that everyone else has an okay day...and that everyone is safe if traveling or whatever you might be doing. I will check in later today after the run, shopping, etc.

Shelly: How did your event go yesterday??
Lisa: I hope DD does well with the visits today {{{hugs}}}
Gabrielle: Ahhh, a nice day to walk around the Capital... if memory serves... the Capital building has a HUGE area and lots of things to see while there! YAY the towels you gave the girls will come in handy today!!
I know you "need the rain" but MAN I hope everything is OK with the powerful storms you are having!

LOL Yes Gabrielle... trying to eat "clean" and follow SF was mind boggling to me... when I DID the SF it was good(for me) but as I began to not want so many FF/SF/Processed stuff, it wasn't a good fit...
Oh Gabrielle - I don't even mind the prep for the colonoscopy... I never have a rough time - this time they also sent me a Rx for an "anti-nausea" med... never needed one before - think I will pass on that one... I am looking forward to Friday around 2:00 PM! LOL It should be OVER by then and I can go get a decent meal... actually worried, will they even DO the procedure with as sick as I am... I HAVE to be better by then, right?? OMG!!
I swear it is a SINUS INFECTION and the throat is scratchy due to "mouth breathing"... and dry mouth/throat... SORRY TMI?? I ran the humidifier last night and it was "better" ? Maybe? Hard to know if it was that helping or something else!
I had message my PCP on Thursday morning...no reply until Saturday morning...apparently she sent it late Friday night - after I was off the computer... WHO DOES THAT!??!?? I didn't bother to reply... I know I will see her Monday!
Even soup doesn't taste good to me... but I have Tracy picking up some butternut squash so I can make a pot of the butternut squash soup... I use low sodium veg broth, so it's going to have to be good enough!
She is also getting produce, so we will get salad made, oh and Perdue chicken short cuts are on sale - so she is getting those as well...so we should be set for lunches anyway!
Suppers this week might be whatever we can FIND around here!

Morning all....honestly, I had the laziest day yesterday and it was great! I hadn't slept well so I was tired and I curled up in the recliner, did some knitting, watched so movies, made a puzzle....did make dinner in the crockpot when Jason finally got home to get the roast out of the freezer....fell asleep fairly early in the chair...wandered to bed when I woke up to pee and then tossed and turned the rest of the night! Jason was fidgety and snoring...I should have just gone back to the recliner but I was toasty warm and didn't want to crawl out from under the covers!! Now I'm lame from just laying there in bed for too long!! UGH!
Not much on the docket today...run to the store for a few things, will make dinner, do laundry, go through junk mail...sure wish I didn't need to head to the store it is so cold and windy today...the temps are highs in the teens...14° now, with 20 mph winds!!! Brrrr.....
Yes Carole...that was a late morning post...got home and it was still on the screen...I just didn't hit reply!! LOL! Yes...next week Colton can join us on Saturday morning after basketball!!! He too loves the water as much as the other two!! Bummer your procedure is so late but at least you can sleep in a bit!!! After mine I was starving...Sarah picked me up and we went directly to Panera for lunch!!!
No, the Vegan Shepherds Pie was not too bad! It was basically a bunch of veggies like carrots, celery, onions, garlic and porchini mushrooms sauteed together then some sort of stock that was thickened up with mashed potatoes on top!! Really was pretty tasty. We also had sauteed apples and gluten free chocolate chip cookies!! Must say, they weren't that great but I did have two for dessert with my coffee!!

Carole..I hope our mild weather comes your way...only problem for us is it's mid 40's and rain in the forecast every day..... WOW, not sure I could ever say pizza didn't hit the spot!!! I love pizza!!!
Tonight's dinner is spaghetti and meatballs from the freezer...Jason took the sauce out yesterday when he got the roast. I plan to roast a spaghetti squash for me and pasta for Jason! Will roast a butternut squash too while I'm at it!! That's always yummy with the leftover beef from yesterday!!
Shelly...hope your Team National event was a good one!! WOW, you must have been tired if you went to bed w/o dinner!!! Holy smokes....-3°...that's brutal!!! I know that's what Hannah is dealing with these days too!! I can't imagine that for extended days....when we have a couple of really cold days I just want hibernate from life!!
Lisa...hope you have a nice visit today with DD!! I'm sure Kennedy will brighten his day!!
Gabrielle...I'm sure it was fun to have lunch with your college roommate & her boys! How far from home is Sacramento for you?? Glad you got to your meeting yesterday and the new material is good stuff!!! I'm sure the New Year's meeting is always a boost of enthusiasm as everyone is coming off the holidays!! Oh, and bit of pampering too!!! I'm sure after 4 weeks your nails were definitely in need of being done...I usually stretch to 3 weeks and that's about it...mine grow really fast and since I always have color and not French they look pretty bad in three weeks!!

Gabrielle....I'm looking at bright sunshine but bitter cold and windy and thinking of you heading out to run in the rain!! What's the extended forecast for next week's marathon??? Hope it's a good weather prediction!! I know when it a week away, a lot can change but it's always nice to have some idea what you will be up against!!
Oh Gabrielle...I am not usually a night owl...I'm usually falling asleep somewhere between 9-10pm but when you are up talking, laughing, visiting with good friends, the time just passes and then we looked at that clock and decided we probably ought to put all the "old people" to bed!!! Our DF are like us, early to bed folks but when you don't visit often enough, you have a lot to chat and laugh about!!!
Carole & Gabrielle...seems you were both up and at 'em early today!!! I saw the two threads but then saw more posts on this one!! I'm sure everyone will find us here today!!!
Gabrielle...do be careful out there with falling trees! What are the temps today...rain & wind are miserable enough without cold temps to chill you to the bone! At least you know you have the treadmill option if the weather is too bad!! Where exactly do you live?? Are you getting the 10" of rain that the weather men are predicting for you??
Carole...I will say that everyone, including Hannah & her boys, that have had the head/chest cold this winter it has dragged on for a good week to 10 days...the cough lingers the longest!! Your symptoms sound just like Hannah!! Her boys had the cough too!!
Sorry Carole...can't say my day is going to be "fun"...just chores as usual!! But at least I don't feel like crap!!! I really wish I didn't have to head out to the store...the cold weather and gusty wind makes me want to stay toasty warm in my sweats!!! But.....need some things to make it a good week so I have no choice!! "A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do...."

LOL Gabrielle...I did the same thing early last week...I glanced up and saw I was a Diamond member just like Carole!!!
Your menu for next week sounds yummy!! What kind of tacos do you make?? What kind of shells do you use for tacos?? I love tacos but I find the shells are always high in fat & calories and are quite the "hit" to the tracker!! I suppose I could use lettuce for the shell but it's just not the same!!
Glad you got to your WW meeting and got the NY just start you look forward to! Are there a lot of changes in the program this year?? I'm with you...Simply Filling was not my cup of tea! I like being able to eat whatever I wanted and not have to eat from the "list"!! I too to not like many of the fat free stuff, especially cheese...it doesn't melt right!! I do look for low fat or reduced fat options but sometimes it's just the "real thing"!!! Majority of my food choices are on the SF list as well, but for me, it's a mental thing...SF is too restrictive in my brain!! I know, sounds crazy but it's the way by brain works!!
Carole....I will say that while the prep of the colonoscopy is the "worst part" it wasn't that bad!! I do remember being hungry the day before when I was on clear liquids...I'm just not a jello person and if I do eat jello it's a red flavor which I couldn't have so I was stuck with lime & orange....hate both of those!! Love lime juice in recipes and oranges but not in my jello!!! "Anti-nausea" meds??? What for?? I didn't need those either...DH has had two colonoscopies and he didn't get that either??
Hopefully Carole, if it is a sinus infection, your PCP will give you some anti-biotics and you'll be good as new in a day or two! When Rowan had his, within 48 hours he was back to his normal self!! WOW...you messaged Thursday morning and heard nothing until late Friday??? That's crazy! Thankfully my PCP office usually responds in a couple hours, even if it's just the nurse letting me know that the doctor has been made aware and she will be in touch soon!
Glad Tracy is picking up some groceries for you...you still need to eat something and keep your body fed even though you don't want to....Sounds like you will be good to go for lunch this week....maybe you can plan something for the crockpot this week to help with dinner options!! If your prep is like mine was, Wednesday will be eating light, Thursday will be clear liquids and Friday after your procedure it will be "free for all" until you get real food!!
Need to grab another cup of coffee and finalize my list for the store....back later ladies! Waves to all yet to come!!

Feel a little better after a hot shower, but not up to the chores at hand!! Thank God my Tracy is home and feels like cooking! She is making the squash soup - made the salad... cooking off the rest of the squash to have this week... she is also making a breakfast - and cutting veggies and fruit... portioning them out for week day snacks!
I am puttering along with laundry - will do dishes when she is done in the kitchen... I also stripped the bed... and brought down the linens to get them CLEAN and GERM FREE for the week ahead...
So I stepped on the scale... down 2.6# the past 5 days...LOL I know, I know, it won't "stick" if I ever feel like eating again... but DAMN so "close" to the next "decade"... LOL

Back from the store...oh my lands is it cold and windy out there!! Came home, got groceries put away...sauce and meatballs are slowly warming in the crockpot for supper tonight...got Jason's FitBit Zip synced with his phone and his account set up! Now he's good to go for tracking his steps!
Glad you feel better after a nice hot shower Carole...enjoy the 2.6# loss for today even though we all know it will likely change once you feel like yourself and begin to eat "normally" again!! You'll be in that next "decade" before you know it!! Remember....2017 is our year...all of us!! Together we can encourage, support and help each other to being healthier and lighter versions of ourselves!!
Glad Tracy is taking care of the kitchen duties today and getting everything ready for a good week for all of you!!
I grabbed lunch while I was out and about...Hardee's Kids Meal 2 chicken tenders and fries...actually not too bad on the tracker! Now I'm sitting here crunching on some nice Granny Smith Apple wedges I just cut up!! I really want to finish off the bag of Fritos Scoops on top of the fridge but I will refrain....want to keep the scale moving in the right direction and that is NOT the way to do it!! So...I'll crunch away on my apple!!
Already tracked my dinner and still have plenty of calories, carbs, etc to cover any snacks I may have as the day goes on....really need to get the laundry started so that is done and folded before bed! Just not motivated anymore, after coming in from the frigid cold I just want to curl up under the fleece and snuggle in!

Not feeling good. Forgot to take my medicine the dr gave me for acid reflux. Its suppose to work faster than Prilosec. Anyway didn't take it yesterday or this morning. Took it a little bit ago but think it was to late. Think my ulcer has flared up.
Here is the creamy black bean soup
Creamy Black Bean and Chicken Soup
2 Boneless skinless chicken breast 1 Can black beans, drained and rinsed 1 Can chicken broth 1 Can Rotel 1 Packet taco seasoning
Combine all ingredients and cook until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Once chicken is cooked all the way through, remove chicken and cut/shred into smaller chunks. Return chicken back to pot and let it simmer for a few minutes for taste.
Remove pot from heat and let it sit for a few minutes (if it's too hot, it will curdle the sour cream). Add the following ingredients: 1 Cup shredded cheese (I always add more than a cup ) 1 Cup salsa 1 Cup sour cream
Mix well and eat over tortilla chips.
Will catch up later
