Hello, Goals, everywhere,
A cold morning here. Bad weather all over. I might have to cook my own breakfast this morning. I don't see many cars on the highway. BBL

Good Morning Goals, Cat you can have oatmeal again. It did not get as cold as predicted. Only 26. Ha! Did you see I said only and I am soooo cold natured. Dunno if I can get up my drive to go to church. Maybe for the 11 o'clock service it will be warm enough to be OK.
Jenny, I always read your posts.
Kathie, I put a picture up on your Partners from my email. It will work.
Rough night last night. Up 3 times. Think the UTI has built a resistence to the med. It was gone I thought. I still have 2 more days med.
Coffee tastes good. Have a warm day. Declutter Lucy.
I threw 2 things away yesterday and put one thing in the donation bag.

Good Morning Cat and Goals,
This morning it was 16º (feels like 0º) and going up to 28º and cloudy with wind SE 16 mph today. I thought it sounded good to have 16º until I saw that the wind chill was 0º. Let’s see, we have about 10 more weeks until the first day of spring and it can’t come soon enough for me.
I’m the only one up so far this morning but Sophie came out looking for breakfast so I put her out in the yard and then fixed her food. All is quiet now except for Sophie’s crunching.
MJ took Hannah and Rachael to Lincoln yesterday to get their nails done and do some shopping at the mall. King, Sarah and I had a quiet day at home. Sarah got her homework done so is all set for school on Monday. With the cold weather Bailey and Sophie aren’t interested in going outside except for a few necessary outdoor runs and are content to spend the day napping in the family room.
I slept well under one of the pink blankets Kathie warmed up for all of us last night.
Maxine calendar today: Saturday and Sunday: You can tell its winter. Supermodels are really starting to pack on the ounces.
Another Japan memory: Bill and I had been married one month when we arrived in Yokohama aboard the SS America Transport ship after crossing the Pacific Ocean in 11 days. It was a beautiful white cargo ship and had cabins for 12 passengers. There was a British sea captain and his wife, a missionary doctor and his wife and 2 little boys who were going to Korea, and 6 new missionaries with our Lutheran church in Japan. There was another newlywed couple and two single men on board. We left San Francisco harbor at about sunset and the Pacific Ocean was a beautiful blue. My mom and dad had driven us to San Francisco and were on the dock waving to us. We woke the next morning to a bright and sunny day and were greeted by the first mate at the breakfast table. He looked around at the table and said “Oh, oh, it looks like we will be losing money on this trip with everyone up for breakfast” and we all laughed. The officers ate with us and we had name plates at the table and I was seated beside him for the whole trip and he kept us entertained the whole time. The food was excellent and one time I asked if I could have just a small serving of the other main course they offered that day and they brought a whole serving. Needless to say I couldn’t finish it all. More tomorrow.

Doris what a wonderful memory and thank you so much for sharing! Your details made me feel like I was right there with you!
We went to Perkins for breakfast after church and I went away from the 55+ menu and ordered from their great plates menu which was a 3 egg mushroom and Swiss omelet with three pancakes and actually ate the whole thing! When I got home I about died as it was 20 points! Won't do that again that's for sure!
Nothing going on today. But it will start warming up so that's a positive thing!
Have a great day everyone! Sandy

Good morning. Sandy, I love Perkins pancakes. Hard to resist when you see the pictures on the menu. Lots of points but if you enjoyed the breakfast it was worth it. You can make it up somewhere else.
I was going to make pancakes for breakfast but DH sugar was high so he got bacon/eggs and 1 slice of toast instead. I had a slice of toast and bacon and a banana.
Nothing much going on here. Too cold to be outside so guess I'll find things to do inside again. Have plenty of books and can always tackle the mess that is my recipe box. Not sure why I save so many I make pretty much the same things. Need to declutter that area.
Ozzie is trying to help me type and he's not too good at it. bettyj

Phyl they closed our Macy's last year which really made me sad as that was my go to store to buy things and if I didn't find it in the store would order online as I could return it to the store but now won't do that as I don't want the hassle of returning something by mail. They also closed a Hallmark store but we do have several of those here so did find another one to shop at.
Jenny I forgot to answer your question about the steamer. It's supposed to be good for meat, veggies, eggs and rice. Haven't tried rice yet. It's called Wolfgang Puck rapid steamer and has three baskets plus the rice basket. Have only tried it with one basket so far but you're supposed to be able to use all three at once to fix an entire meal. Except for the rice probably needing more time than what they tell you I'm really loving it especially cooking boneless, skinless chicken breasts in 8-10 minutes and it being so moist and tender when done, not dry like when I do it in the oven.

Hi Cat and Goalies,
Another morning in which I over slept but that's ok. It's 36 and partly cloudy, feels like 31, and the high 50!! Tomorrow 61 and then 50's the following two days. We'll see if that really happens.
I was sure tired last night, those boys really are fun but busy. We finally had about an hour before their parents arrived to rest and settle down. At least I was able to get the laundry done and send home some clean clothes for the boys.
Today, we'll see how much I actually get accomplished. A gymnastic meet for Reese, I'm sure his scores will improve from the last meet. Maybe he'll get two 10's!
Kathie, many thanks for the pink blanket, it has been keeping me warm at night and it kept the three of us warm and cozy Friday night, and the boys didn't kick them off. Thanks.
Cat, sounds like you've got a wonderful view from your apartment.
Lucy, I hope that UTI leaves and lets you get back to really enjoying life and all life holds for you.
Doris, always enjoy hearing about your Japan memories. Was Japan the only place you were missionaries?
Sandy, I could never eat as much as you did at Perkins, and I don't mean anything negative either. I'm more of a two egg omelet person, and to add pancakes oh my. I'm sure the pancakes weren't the usual size if ordered just pancakes. I just can't eat that much. Eating the boys left over breakfast is sometimes enough for me and they don't always leave me much. giggle giggle. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and you'll find ways to make up for it somewhere.
Bettyj, Ozzie will just need more typing practice.
Pat, sounds like you got a lot done yesterday and even got some bummin' in as well. Good Job!
Well the breakfast dishes are done just need to clean the table. Seems like I go through the soap dirty dishes to fill the sink, the wand seems to get more use. I do try to use the sink at least once a week so I can run the disposal.
Off to play games for a bit on the iPad then the chores and activities for the day. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Getting organized Linda

Lucy, I had a thought! I bet you can post your paintings on here. Give it a try!
It got to 32 degrees here but we have freezing rain. Hope my power stays on.
Linda, those R's are active kids. What do you think is their favorite activity? Wow, Linda, I asked you a question. Grin.
I could eat rice with every meal. And I think that I was a golden Koi in my first life.
It is so grey outside, it is putting me to sleep.

Good morning everyone. I slept in for quite awhile as I felt horrible last night and didn't get to sleep until wee hours of the morning. I feel so much beter this morning, but my furnace is making a loud noise when running so will call furnace people in the morning. He said my compressor was going bad and would probably get really noisy and it has. Started Friday. It is 16 degrees this morning with the very low temps it has gotten a work out the last few days. ( will call DSIL to be sure it is okay to wait until tomorrow)
Love snow globes and thought you might too. My avatar is a picture of a car window rest of car covered in snow. Not mine as I have a garage but the avatar is perfect for today. We have about 3 inches of new snow. No one has walked out in it and it is a perfect white scene. My drive way has blown clear and the road has had a pass with the plow. didn't even hear it.
I had all kinds of recipes that I had printed out from computer and tossed them all. never did try any of them. New Year, new me!!
I always go back and read the late posts when I am home. If staying at DDs for one reason or another then I don't do the computer at all. Have an IPad but don't use for the board.

Linda,
Yes, Japan was the only place we were missionaries. After we left Japan Bill accepted a position at Concordia College in Nebraska and we were there for 8 years. At that time he decided he wanted to be pastor of a church before he reached retirement age. He was called as pastor of a Lutheran Church in Mississippi and he served there until he retired in 1993.

Cat, depending on the day, they would go from playing games to doing a craft. Anything basketball Little R loves. Then of course there's putt putt and bowling. I have a place near me where three and under play for free, so my free play for Little R is coming to an end soon. Reese would ask to do a craft project every now and then and for the Mother's and Father's day I try to have a project for them to do as well. Cat, I think you've ask questions in the past so keep them coming.
Doris, you and your DH's missionary work brought you many joys, laughter, and love, not to mention the many wonderful memories you have been able to share with us and your family. Thank you.

Sandy, cute picture of the dogs. They look good in green.
It got to 33 degrees here.
Lucy, I had Cream of Wheat and two scrambled eggs, one slice raisin toast. Eggs were cold.
We have a fine, misty rain. Not going to be good after five tonight. You will get a ticket if no snow tires or chains in the car. Didn't hear that in the desert.
