Good morning!
Happy Monday!! We have exercise class this morning. Not much else planned. I do have housework to do.
Got my 10,000 in yesterday, as I said in my late post. Need to do the same again today. Came in at 32 pts yesterday.
I have a QOTD, but Nancy probably has one too. Mine is: Now that the weather is cooler, I have a hard time getting all my water in. Are you getting yours in? If so, how are you doing it??
Have a good day ladies!

Good morning,
Golfer48, sorry I don't know your name, when you said about watching the golf in Hawaii yesterday, my husband played that course when we were in Hawaii as that's where his sister's condo is. I remember riding in the golf cart and those hills were very intimidating! But the views were incredible!
Nancy I was chuckling at the mental image I got about Cricket walking with the boots on and the glare you got later!
Nothing going on here today except a slight warm up.
Have a good day all, Sandy

Just checking in before I go to rehab. FINALLY finished the first step of DH's financial report. I say first step because now he'll have questions and then will want to talk about not spending so much this year. It's ok. I'm used to it.
Joan: Thanks for mentioning finding Richard Simmons on YouTube. I searched around there and found some Jane Fonda Be Fit routines. Wow! She looks amazing for 76 (when she made them... She's 79 now.) It's not aerobic, it's toning and strengthening.
SandyIL: Golfer is Glenda, Nancy's childhood friend.
Got to run. I'll BBL.

Good morning Petites. Another cold day! Schools were cancelled all around the area because of the bitter cold and the icy roads. Hope today will get above freezing and start the melt. Cricket reluctantly wore her booties again this morning. I wore my down coat that comes to my ankles. We were both warmer.
Joy, I welcome your posing a QOTD. It's hard to come up with so many, and I didn't have one in mind for today yet. AOTD: I do find drinking water harder when it is cold. DH drank water at room temperature, so I tried that. I don't like it that way though. Lately, I have added another cup of decaf tea although I do still add a little sugar to it so guess it wouldn't count with WW suggestions. I do recall a meeting leader in IL who said she drink hot water with lemon. I can't recall if she added artificial sweetener or not but suppose you could. Never tried it myself. Believe it or not, during this cold spell, I've been putting ice into my water and then eating the ice when I finish drinking the water. It gives me something crunchy to chew on instead of potato chips. Have fun at exercise class!
SandyIL, as Mickey said, golfer48 is my friend Glenda that I have known since I was a week old. She lives here where I do now, and we have been getting together some. We've kept in touch all these years though. My sisters call her our 5th sister. Glad you will have a slight warmup. We hope to as well...a big one though!
Mickey, glad the report is done and hope the session of discussion won't be onerous. I need to check my stats too, although I have a ballpark figure in mine. Except for a few projects on the house and yard, I don't anticipate spending much this year. Hope they go easier with you at rehab. Please don't try 10 minutes on the elliptical again!
Going out to lunch with a friend so will have to plan what to get at Ruby Tuesday. Catch you later.

It's snowing, but I'll be heading to the pool anyway. I finally realized that I've lived in this type of weather all of my life and it shouldn't stop me from doing my "normal" things. Roads are plowed sanded and salted, no wind, not that cold (6 above when I walked) nothing cancelled due to weather. I've always driven, walked, skated, skied, etc., in this stuff and we don't plan on making any kind of move any time in the near future (barring major medical issues). So, over 3,000 steps in so far.
QOTD, I'm only working on at least 4 glasses a day, and have to get it in in the morning so I don't have to get up so much during the night. I've already had 2 and it's a little after 9 here. And I've moved my milk to lunch time, so trying for minimal liquid after 2 in the afternoon. It seemed to help - only got up once for bathroom last night. However, I did take two ibuprofin as I've been having lower back pain (it's my type of RA), so slept better (I think - haven't checked my fitbit this morning).
Nancy, I'm doing the sleep stuff with the fitbit because I really am trying to figure out how much sleep I actually get, and when I actually do sleep.
Got to go - heading to the pool in about 45 minutes. Have a good day.

Good Morning It's a rainy one here in CA - now - should move thru fast and start to dry up by afternoon but right now it's wet for sure! We need this rain and the snow it brings to the mountains! We had a fun time last night and a great dinner - I ate Petite and didn't have the delicious rolls she had. On today's agenda is to vacuum, bath Buddy, and make a dessert for tomorrows card group here. Tonight I'm making a pork roast for dinner and rice and a salad. Joy, Good job in staying on program yesterday! I didn't get my 10,000 step in yesterday - came in at 8969 - going to make sure I get them in today! Enjoy the exercise class! Thanks for the QOTD, Joy: I take pills in the morning and in the afternoon so that get's 3 cups in... then thru the day I try and drink a cup when ever I see my water glass staring at me! Ha! I also count my 3 cups of coffee. I need to go back to yesterday's thread and read it... Mickey, I hope it's a good Rehab visit! Good for you getting the first part of the Financial report done! Nancy, Cricket got new booties - I think that is wonderful if she wears them! It's got be nice not to have her feet right on the snow. Waving Hi to Sandy in IL, Linda and Glenda and all our friends out there! On to a great day, Everyone! It's up to us to make it a good one!

Hi again!
Partly sunny here this morning after rain during the night. Slightly warmer outside because it did rain.
Thanks for telling me what you are doing about your water. If I drank coffee or tea, that would help. I've been drinking about 2.5 of the 16 oz bottles so that is 5 glasses of water. I guess it isn't too bad for winter. I know when the weather is warmer, I go through at least 4 and sometimes more.
Sandy, I'll bet you did have some nice views from the golf cart!
Mickey, glad you got the financial report done! Hope the talk doesn't last too long. I know we've spent a lot of money the last few years on the house. It's worth it to me to see the changes we've made.
Nancy, I drink my water cold too, but without the ice. Have fun at lunch with your friend!
Joan, you are right about doing your normal activities even in winter. When we lived in the mountains all year, we got out and did what we needed to or wanted to and thought nothing of it. It is all in what you are used to. I never did like driving when the roads were bad, though. I did it, I just didn't like it.
Sharon, you must not be getting the amount of rain they are getting in NO CA - last night our mountain town was near the flood stage. They had opened up a hall for flood victims expecting the river to rise above flood stage during the night. I haven't been on FB yet to see how bad it got. I know places in the valley were also bracing for floods. You guys keep busy socially - I like that!
I'm off to look at FB and see how friends and family are doing in the possibly flooded areas. I know that DMIL's town as well as the one we used to live in were with out power all last night.
Have a good day!

Got in my swim and did 34 minutes and 20 laps - no cramps today. Also stopped in just to say Hi to my friend Maggie. She's cheering the fact that she made it through another Christmas and New Years. They can't seem to get the pain meds right, but I wonder if it's that the pain is so severe that it's not controllable. Roads were fine - just wet on the way home as I met two plows on my way to the pool and they were plowing and salting, so no snow is sticking. And it's 22 out. Planning to see the Star Wars movie tonight with friends. Have had my 4 glasses of water already as I took a bottle with me so was sipping between laps.
Have a great day.

Joan, glad you got your laps in at the pool and already has the water. There are still some icy spots on the town streets here and in parking lots. I was expecting more melting than we've had today. Sorry Maggie is in such pain. I know DH felt there wasn't enough morphine in the world for him those last days.
Sharon, glad you had a good time with friends. I don't get much water with my pills since I just need a sip to get them down. Glad you're getting beneficial rain.
Joy, sorry your friends and relatives are in the flood zone in NOCA. Hope their homes will be okay. Glad it feels warmer.
Lunch was 5 of us...2 women from high school, one from college and the sister of one of the high school friends. My friend from out of town was here to visit her sister, so they arranged it. I didn't call Glenda since my sister had seen on FB that Glenda is sick today with a stomach bug. I called her a little while ago and she's feeling better. Luckily, she was off work today anyway because the college closed because of the snow. Anyway, while we were at lunch, we saw another high school friend who was in town visiting her sister! We had a good time chatting. I chose what I wanted before I got there and stuck to it. I'll have a big salad for dinner and still be within my target calories. And I chose water for my drink because of today's discsussion!

Good job Nancy! Glad you had a nice visit with old friends. Hope you can continue to have meetings/lunches out with friends. It will certainly help with your transition.
Almost to 10,000 so will definitely get it in today, even with the Movie Date. Oldest daughter turned 44 today - tried to call, but got voice mail as usual. She's probably throwing pots and doesn't usually have her phone with her then. She sometimes watches movies on her Ipad, especially when she's doing the painting on the pots.
Off to a great evening!

Just passing through. Off the prednisone for the first day so still very hungry. Hopefully it will start to get out of my system soon and I will be able to stay OP.
Snow tonight, freezing rain early tomorrow morning and then rain by noon with the temps hitting 40. DH has a 1:30 appointment at the pain clinic tomorrow. Sure hope it helps him. He is in pain and that makes my stress level go up.
Nancy, glad you are getting out with old friends. How happy Cricket must have been to go to Pet Smart. Hopefully she will wear the booties in the bad weather. Off to fix him pancakes and a salad for me.

Good evening Petites.
Had a good time at rehab. They didn't let me on the step elliptical. Just 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the seated bicycle like elliptical. I stopped at Albertson's for some Hoagie rolls for DH, the jeweler to drop off two watches for batteries, Lowe's for insecticidal soap to get rid of the aphids (I hope), and I even got myself a Starbucks--one of their new latte called Cascara I think. I haven't had a Starbucks for quite a while so it was extra good. Then after lunch we walked a 1.5 mile loop to the hardware store and the mailing center to drop off a package for FedEx which has put me near 10,000 steps. Not long after that we sold a exercise bicycle we bought at a yard sale a few months ago. DH says it hurts his back. Didn't lose any money on it either. So all in all a nice day. He was intrigued by an Omaha Steak offer and we're trying the hamburger tonight.
Mammie: I'm glad you are feeling a little better. It's good you are off the prednisone. I heard a fascinating interview on NPR today--I think on All Things Considered--regarding a recent book about fat. I'll write more about it when I get back on here. I'm in a hurry to write because I have just a few minutes before I have to start dinner. I bring it up here because it had a part on leptin that makes people feel hungry or satiated and I bet prednisone is involved in inhibiting its production, thus the hungry feeling.
Joan: That's the way it was with the rain in Oregon. You just accepted it and went out in it. Here and in LA, people wait until the rain stops to do things. In Oregon you see kids waiting for the school bus in T-shirts with no jacket. It's great you get out in that cold. I hope you enjoy(ed) the movie.
Glenda: I'm sorry you caught your DH's bug. It sounds like a quick one and not the flu, which also comes on suddenly.
Nancy: The lunch sounds nice. Good for you sticking to your pre-meal decision. I bet Cricket will grudgingly use the boots in the snow. How fun to see her so eagerly sniffing around the Petco, even if it is smaller.
Joy: I see Reno is having flooding problems too. I hope things are OK with your family.
Got to run...I'll be back in a bit.

Mammie, we're supposed to get the same weather tomorrow morning and I have a 9a.m. haircut. Fingers crossed that they are wrong!
QOTD, I'm not sure how much water I actually drink. I keep my water bottle with me and just keep working on it. When it gets down, I refill. I don't drink tea or coffee and gave up Pepsi several years ago so water is my drink.
Is the page layout changed or am I just seeing something different on my iPad? I can't scroll up to remind myself what others have written.
Good luck Linda. Everyone stay warm!
