-21 wind chill makes me not want to say that it's only warmed up to 12 here. It's not a dry cold either, it's a damp one.

Checking in from dh's hospital room. He fell last night, broke his hip, and surgery is scheduled this afternoon. Prayers and positive vibes are appreciated. Everything cancelled and on hold today. No mindless eating as ii do have a plan and walking the halls. Keep smiling everyone.

pamthomas46 I am SO sorry, hugs and prayers. Kudos to you for knowing that food won't help anything. As sorry as I am for your DH, he is lucky to have a wife with such a great attitude!

It is mid-day and I have two healthy, plan-friendly meals under my belt.
pamthomas46 , so sorry to hear about your husband’s fall. Hip surgery is so common these days, and unless there are complications that prevent him from starting rehab right away, the prognosis for excellent recovery is usually good. I’m wishing the best for him.
The rain is giving us a respite but will be starting up again later in the day and turning fairly heavy tomorrow.
sullicat1 , I installed a WiFi-enabled thermostat a couple of years ago and have never been sorry. If it gets uncomfortable during the night, I simply grab my cell phone, run the app and adjust it. The thermostat wasn’t that expensive and has certainly been worth the price.
I made it to weigh-in this morning and suffered my usual Monday phenomenon; I weigh almost every morning on a Fitbit Aria scale, which is pretty accurate, and which records the weigh-in at Fitbit. I watch the weighs fluctuate daily but with a downward trend through Sunday; and then on Monday morning there is a big jump (which I cannot attribute to anything like overeating or excess salt on Sunday), and I register a .4 or .8 pound gain at my weigh-in. I showed my leader the graph this morning just because I wanted her to know that I’m not lying about this week after week. This goes on three or four weeks of the month, then one weigh-in I have a loss of a couple of pounds and am back to the starting point. Well, I guess that’s what maintenance is and even though I’d like to get the weight down I guess I just have to be happy mainting month to monthy. Either that, or I need to start “juice dieting” on weekends!
One of my friends from WW lost her father-in-law over the weekend. Ironically, he, took took a fall while his wife was out shopping. He definitely fell down stairs, but they don’t know how far and whether the heart failure that occurred was the cause or result.
I saw him on Christmas Eve and at Christmas dinner and he seemed to be doing well, so this was a shock for me, too. I’m glad she came to the meeting today just for hugs and support. We really do have a great core group of long-time members who are close.
I have a dental checkup in a couple of hours, so I guess I should do some little thing before I leave to improve the living situation in the house.
Hope everyone is having a decent day.

Oh Mike I am so sorry about the loss of your friend's DFIL how awesome that you are all so close though. I know you double track, can you print that out and show your Leader? That is crazy. It is the old Leader in me, the mystery must be solved.
