Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning it was 18º (feels like 9º) and going up to 39º and mostly cloudy with wind E 6 mph today.
It’s back to our normal schedule of school for the girls and King will be going in for his first day of work today.
Maxine calendar today: These days, people spend lots of time and money on the perfect wardrobe … and that’s just for their dogs.
Another Japan memory: I’m continuing from yesterday aboard the SS America Transport ship crossing the Pacific Ocean. We had beautiful sunny weather for 9 days. On the tenth day the captain told us we would be going further north than the usual route because he was taking us that way to avoid a typhoon. In the afternoon we started noticing that the waves were getting bigger and the wind stronger. We were advised not to walk the decks more than necessary so we spent most of the day in the lounge where we could read or play games or cards in our cabins. The captain told us it wouldn’t get any worse than it was and we just had choppy waves at that point. Because we had to take a different route it took a day longer than the usual trip and we arrived in Yokohama harbor in the evening after dark and too late to go through customs. We had to stay on the ship in the harbor overnight and we could hear some of the sounds of Japan like the vendors going around with their carts calling “udon” (bowls of noodles) for sale. The air was very still after the typhoon had gone through and there was no breeze to cool us with the temperature in the 90s. More tomorrow.

Good morning,
Posting on this tablet is for the pits! Maybe if I would use it more I would like it. Sometimes the letters don't appear till I type the next one. Either it is goofy or I am - no comments Marm!
Looks like we'll be going to MN's again today. The shower door was shipped to the store yesterday & we'll take this other stuff back. Hope the vanity works out but right now I have doubts on it. I was awake thinking about that last night. DH will be very upset with me if it doesn't work out - so will I.
Made sugar cookies yesterday. It's big recipe so may last longer than the chocolate chip. The last bag of snack mix I made for Christmas is gone & DH wants me to make more. DD said she would help & take half of it. That is a huge recipe & kind of pricey to make. Not thinking about doing that today or any time very soon. Typing on here is frustrating to me so going to stop. Just wanted to let you know all's well here even if the Pack did win!!

Still don't understand your dislike Marlene for the Packers since they're from your state. I'm not a football fan but I was happy for their win since DH and DS and family are such big fans.
Finally had our Christmas yesterday. Really nice to spend time with family. DDIL still had plenty of her goodies left that she'd made for Christmas. Her mom, sister and the g-kids get together every year before Christmas and make plenty. This year they made something different too. A softened rolo sandwiched between ritz crackers and dipped in chocolate. I have a new favorite. It's so good.
DH wants to go to KMart when I get home from work. I also want to stop at Walgreens. Gotta get going now and have breakfast and get ready for work....

Gareth, there's lots of things in WI that I don't like!! And lots more people that don't like the Pack.

Gareth, my GDIL makes a favorite with her kids. You spread peanut butter between 2 ritz crackers and then dip in chocolate. Then add pieces of walnuts for antlers and add candy eyes and a red cinnamon candy for a nose, to make Rudolph. She had her 4 and 6 year olds making these just a few days after she gave birth at home to their 4th child, with the 6 year old supervising and showed the process on Facebook. The Rollo one you mentioned sounds good. I don't like dipping things though. I've made the Rollo sitting on a small pretzel, then put into a warm oven for a short time.
It's time to make some soup for lunch with leftover chIcken.

My dear friend's husband is Packer FAN!!
I went back to sleep after my BR trip this morning and so I am really running late for my Knitwits.... Elsa is so good to me. She let me sleep. It is kind of like she knows she is supposed to do that. Then when I get up she runs down the hall..stopping and looking back to see if I am following her.
Those candies sound so good. I am a big sweet fan.
I will be back much later to visit some. Gots to go now.

Hello all. I'm just getting here to post although I did read earlier but then dh came up and we made several different foods to have on hand and then I cleaned up the kitchen.
I still have a Packer Jacket that I bought a LONG time ago and never wore. I keep thinking I'll donate it to the coat drive they have at the schools every year but I keep forgetting to take it. It's really large though so maybe a high school child except they seem to not want to wear coats even when it's below zero. I do have a packer tee shirt too but that's staying. Too bad they won ;yesterday but I don't think they'll get much further but then you never know.
It's way warmer today and now the wind finally calmed down a little so we may go out tomorrow but maybe not till Wed when the new grocery sales start. I didn't see anything much in last weeks and tomorrow would still be that one.
Bipp it's great that Elsa let you sleep. Most people I see posting are saying that their pets don't let them sleep...yet another reason I don't have one.

Gareth, I'm glad your dil had some goodies. That rolo in the ritz and covered in chocolate sounds good. Each year I think I'm going to dip things but I never do. I have been going to make the rolos on small pretzels for awhile too but haven't done that either. Maybe I'll do it for EAster.

Hello, all LTMs,
I had a two and a half hour Liturgy meeting this afternoon, and it really used up my day. I had met w/ my opposite coordinator (she handles the Lectors, I do the Ministers)and we pretty uch put together the February schedule. Still a few bugs, but feels good to have it almost finished.
I had put sheets & towels on the line before I left, and thankfully, DH took them down for me. The workmen came early this morning & finished everything. We are really happy w/ the new pool cage! Love the dark bronze color!
I really need to clean this house tomorrow. I need to dust, to dry mop the wood floors, to vacuum & to wet mop the tile floors. I hate it when things seem messy & right now, they do!
When I got home from my meeting, DH & I went for a walk. Came home to see 2 Sheriff's deputies standing in the middle of the road, talking. We said hello, and they started to leave. When they saw me go to the mailbox, & DH up the drive, one said, Ma'am, are you the homeowners? I replied yes, and he asked if I knew our alarm had gone off. NO! Our neighbor had heard it, the security company called her, and she came over to check. Since she had a key, she & her DH came in & went through to be sure all was OK. Our laundry room door was ajar (my fault, I'm sure, since I'd come in that way). Well, the police arrived, questioned her (How do I know you didn't break in? Because I have the key in my hand? How could you be sure no one was in there waiting to shoot you? I didn't think about that.) He took her name, her age, etc. Didn't ask me anything. I told her I feel bad for getting her a police profile! I still don't understand how we were able to set the alarm w/ the door ajar! I am glad I didn't go w/ my first reaction about "Are you the homeowner?" I thought about saying, No, I'm just stealing the mail! Doubt he would have seen the humor!
Have a great evening,
Rose Marie

Doris, Anxious to hear how K did on his first day at work. and the girls today. I was happy to hear you was safe during the Typhoon in Japan.
Marlene, How did it go w/returning the goods? Yeah that snack mix is costly. something I haven't ever made. I remember back when a friend on ADC made it. I wondered how she could afford it when I sure couldn't.
Gareth*, I use to make the Ritz PB dipped in choc. I know hubby would have loved them but at that time all he would say "You know I don't like sweets". L@@k at him now. Ha,ha.
Mary, Sounds like the candy I made w/out the face.
Bipp, Good luck w/the work DF has for you. Elsa sounds like P does often. Only she lets DH sleep in all the time. Unless potty time.
Ruth, I bet the Packers Jacket would go off big @ school for ones the like them .That's when they would wear a coat. Its much warmer here today to. I wore my long coat but didn't need to.
Rose Marie*, I was thinking to of neighbor going into the house if someone was still inside. Maybe not a good idea for her to and let police do it. I know when I knew neighbors house was broke into. I did see them and I went in to get them .Today thinking back how dumb it was. The other time I was outside when they came out the door w/me and Ball bat after them. Yep he was caught-up w/later as the jacket he had borrowed and dropped from a friend.
Well we sure did get a lot done. DH hearing Aid appointment had questions and did get answers plus adjustment and new pc. put on and the cup to. And a dryer for them. so he's a happy camper. My leg test turned out well and the nurse showed me how to put the stockings on. I do still have 3 more appts. thru May, That last one all will be checked like from the start. Since the Drivers Lic. isn't open on Mon. But Tues. thru Sat. Today was not the day to go. Got my shot and DH his script. A quick stop WM couple Groc. and I bought a watch. Well Hubby did a whole lot of paper work for our Taxes long ago. Added up what we paid out, which was $10,000 and not even hearing aids, nor my Dentures or scripts. I know at one time he took them downstairs to work on while he had the fireplace going. Now I'm thinking he tossed them to at some other time. Can't find them anywhere.

I will be going to bible study tomorrow, then to Costco and then to run errands for my friend. Wonder when Marm will check in.
I am working on a frizbee...crocheting, which I really don't do that well. I will be making them to send to the mission fields. They can be folded up and put in ones pocket and thrown indoors with out doing any damage. See you to morrow...
