I just checked my email and I had an email that said it was from my cousin who died in February. How sick are some people to somehow send you an email like that.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Hope you enjoy working at the quilt show, and get to see some beautiful quilts too! Ruth - Sometimes it's hackers that get ahold of an email account and send out that spam email, or they've gotten into an account that was someone your cousin knew and then once they do that they have all the emails of all the contacts from that person. I've had it happen to one of my email accounts and I had to close it down. Computers are great, except for problems like these. I'm sorry you had to see that email. Ginny - Hope your day goes quickly and that you get to relax this evening. Meg - Hope you are feeling well and getting in some crafting. I'm doing well and just relaxing and reading today. I went and sat outside for a while since it's nice and sunny out and in the mid-70s. The house is still cold inside from the earlier colder weather this week, so it felt good to sit outside. I also put out some bread for the birds and peanuts for the squirrels. Take care everyone!

CJ, I once put out bread for the birds and they didn't eat it but yesterday dh put some out and they did eat it so I'm glad about that because we often have extra bread.
Yes it was nice yesterday but windy and today is nice and warm but even windier and it looks like dh is not going to do outdoor stuff today so I should be able to get some things done. I didn't accomplish much yesterday except for helping him some.
Ginny, I'm glad you can look forward to having some quieter times ahead.
Phyl, since Delona's dh is doing extra activities is she able to get out with you for some relaxation. Maybe if you can get together you could pray together.
Meg, I hope you're having a good day and finding books to listen to and that your afgan is coming along with no problems

Good evening!
Phyl, how was the quilt show?
Meg- I wonder if you got to knit wits this week....hope your day is going well.
CJ- yes today was a nice day to bet outside and relax, glad you were able to enjoy it! Think we have cooler weather coming in a few days- and we can kiss summer good bye until next year.
Ruth, glad your birds are cooperating and enjoying the bread. Were you able to get much accomplished?
Long day is over for me..Tomorrow Dh and I are attending a seminar at the local community college on Indian settlements, something that he is really into. We will also end up in Walmart to do some fill in shopping- there are somethings I get there because they are just so much cheaper.
Hope everyone has a great night! Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hoe you are all doing well today.
Just checking in to see what's going on with everyone, looks like it's a busy weekend. The weather here is nice and warmer, we're supposed to have that for a few more days. Then we'll get cold weather again.

Good evening! CJ- we have similar weather.....I just checked mine (after reading yoour post) and noticed that here in NY there are 2 more days of warm weather. Then its into the 60's. And some much needed rain. Phyl- well hopefully your computer will be an easy and cheap fix. Sorry that the quilt show was not the best, What are your plans for the owl panel? We will miss you - but look forward to hearing from you when you are able to check in. Dh and I attended a seminar on archaeological investigations in our area- especially pertaining to early Indian settlements.(Dh is very interested in that). I went along to encourage him and his interest. It was interesting for him and thankfully he did not want to stay for the whole thing. Do you think he now owes me a trip to my LQS? Actually after I finish saying hello, I am going to look online for an easy craft for the grandkids on Monday. (Yup, that counts!). Then I will get to work on the afghan. HI to Meg and Ruth. Ginny

Hello all. CJ, it's a nice day here today too but only up to 50. On Wed it will be over 70 but the very next day the high will only be in 30's so I'm hoping to get things done on Wed then see what happens after that.
Phyl, sorry the quilt show wasn't the best. I bet it was still enjoyable. Sorry about your computer too. You will be missed
Ginny, I hope you're having a good day also and enjoying your weekend
I'm working on the first of the cowls. I still have to do the ties on the sweater but that won't take long. I got a pattern from online for the cowl and it's really pretty. I did want to make it with bulky yarn though and the pattern called for #3 weight yarn so I cut the number of beginning chains down and used a larger hook. I'm almost done with this one. I think at least one more will be made with this pattern but maybe in a usual medium weight yarn just to make it a little different. This pattern uses three colors(you could use however many you want though) and has four sections. the outsides are one main color on her pattern and then two other colors between. Since I'm using the bulky yarn that's another change I made is having only three sections, one of each color...grey, blue, and white but there are endless possibilities. The design, itself, is so pretty that it's worth making in either solid or any arrangements of color or number of sections or wider or narrower. You could even make it as a scarf instead of cowl and I think even a blanket would look great in this design. In fact now that I mention it I may have to put this on my blanket list too.

ok one cowl done and five to go. I finished it...yeay!
Going to at least get the yarn together for the next one. I never did get all the yarns for all of them put together with the pattern for each one like I planned.
Now I'm going to make my list of to do's for the coming week.. not just for crafting but for everything I need to do this week.
Have a great night everyone and get a good sleep. I didn't sleep well last night because I couldn't fall asleep. I hope to do better tonight.See you all tomorrow

Ginny, I didn't see your post there earlier. The seminar you went to sounds very interesting and yes i think your reward for going to it should be a trip to the LQS for sure. It sure sounds like fun doing crafts with your grandchildren. My crafting with mine was teaching them to crochet and coloring. I baked and cooked with them also. Some people are very creative with finding crafts for children. My ddil did some wonderful crafts with their children. I'm not that creative but there are lots of sources online. One I liked was for making projects with coffee filters.Have you ever made the Thanksgiving turkeys with paper lunch bags?. They're cute and they could use them at Thanksgiving dinner for table decorations.I'm sure I've mentioned this before but when my oldest grandchild was about 3 he made one somewhere and next time they came over he came running into the house yelling "Grandma, Grandma, I made you a chicken" It was so cute. Now he's almost 27 years old and has a one year old himself.I still have the "chicken"

Good morning!
Ruth, you are amazing with how you have been able to modify the cowl pattern for different yarn size and coloration. Are the directions for that online? I might try to make one for myself or a DD. The way to get things done is by making a list....it also is a great stress reliever. Good for you getting things organized in your mind and on paper.
I did get some crocheting done last night. Am waiting to see if I like this pattern or not.
BB in a little bit Ginny

Anyway, I think tomorrow we are making spiders. (The kids and I). You paint styrofoam cups, put on wiggle eyes and pipe cleaner legs.....voila, spiders! I figure our DGD will handle it with ease and the little guy will be inspired just because he is making a spider, that it should work.
In the past I have made all kinds of crazy stuff.....last week when both grands were sick, DGD and I made home made play do (so much fun and so easy). I also this time of year make Thanksgiving turkeys from Oreo cookies and candy corn, also my favorite are acorns, made from Hershey's kisses and mini nut butter cookies. Got a funny story about the acorns....I have made them for several years- and remember well giving some to DGD when she was little. I also gave them some to take home, as a treat for later, and just marked the Tupperware container of them "acorns". Well their stupid dog got into them - ate them all. All DD found was the label that said "acorns"- and she assumed that DGD and I went for a nature walk and collected acorns. Well, yes chocolate is poisonous to dogs, but acorns are very poisonous - so she made the dog throw up thinking he had ingested a lot of real acorns. Of course it was about 5 or 6 of our homemade acorns...and he is a big dog. (That much chocolate would not hurt him). A whole lotta stress and laughs for nothing. Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Glad you enjoyed the quilt show. Hope things go well with your computer. Ruth - Sounds like you are making progress with cowls. Hope you can get your ToDo list together and work through it. Ginny - I'm glad you and DH enjoyed the lecture and hopefully it is your turn now and you get the trip to LQS Those crafts with the grandkids sound fun. Meg - Hope you are feeling well and getting in some crafting. It's another pretty day here. I'm hoping to get to clearing off the main table in my sewing room. It's gotten so cluttered that I think that's part of the reason I'm not inspired to do anything. Hopefully I'll get motivated to work on it. Take care everyone!
