Trying this new thread because I think it's interesting to find about where our WW
friends live. We live in a very small town so my info will be about Rochester MN.
Of course what most people think of when they hear Rochester MN is the Mayo Clinic.
Probably some think that this is a building when actually Mayo in Rochester is composed
of about 30 buildings including 2 hospitals and 5 parking ramps.
Mayo & Gonda buildings contain most of the doctors offices and exam rooms plus some
testing areas.
Hilton & Stabile buildings...the labs
Siebens building....Education
Guggenheim & Med Sciences...Research Labs
Baldwin building...local residents
Jacobson building...Proton beam therapy
Harwick building..Computer
Charlton...Testing
The oldest building is the Plummer building. It now contains one of the largest medical
libraries in the world with 400,000 volumes.
The 2 hospitals...St.Marys has 1265 beds and Methodist hospital has 794 patient beds. They
also have some offices and a large emergency/trauma center. Mayo Eugenia Litta childrens
hospital also has 148
Enough for now. I'll go into more detail some other time about various parts of Mayo.
