This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Good morning
cj59, I use to bake too. More around the holidays. I blew last night. Ate some of the candy. Only two kids came by. Ugh
Waving to all
My son has his surgery tomorrow afternoon. Please say a prayer for him.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today sunrose - Thanks for starting our monthly thread. Don't be too hard on yourself with the candy, holidays are so much about food! I will keep your son, and you, in my thoughts and prayers and hope for a successful surgery for him and a speedy recovery. Please let us know how he's doing. I did my monthly weigh-in today and I gained weight over the last month. I think some of it may be fluid retained over the last few days since my weight has gone up just since Monday - and I've been eating pretty well. I'm still below goal but I don't want to keep seeing gains, so I'm trying to be more aware of what I'm eating. I tend to get a little slack on not counting some things during the day, and I know those can add up.

Just checking in for the day. Our November thread is quiet I'm still up in my weight today and I'm thinking that my overeating last week finally caught up with me on the scale. So I'm trying to stay on track this week. I've been writing everything I eat down, so I hope the tracking works to keep me from eating too much. I really wish I could just quit worrying about everything I eat, but I know I can't do that. It just gets tiring sometimes. Hope that anyone checking in is doing well on their plans.

Hi everyone! cj59 - I love baking too. I don't get to do it nearly often enough. sunrose49 - I hope your son made out ok. Halloween was rough for me. I'm doing about the same as I have been; just trying to keep my sh*t together. I need to get back to the gym. Hope everyone is doing well.

Good morning
Thanks for the well wishes for my son. It was a LONG day. It was so confusing. Between the surgeons office and the hospital he was given 3 different times to show up. He went with the last update from the surgeons office and on the way the hospital called and said where are you. When he told them they said no problem don't get upset. So we get there and he is in the room at 12:00 getting IV, etc. Does not go back to surgery until 4:00! Crazy
He did really well (was very nervous with it being he's first surgery). First night was rough, but next day he is on his way and doing good.
I need to catch up and I'll bbl

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your weekend wwlurker - Hang in there, I know you have a hectic and busy life - take care of yourself. sunrose - I'm happy to hear your son made out alright with his surgery, even though the day sounds like it was stressful and long. He's lucky to have you to be there for him. I'm doing pretty well. I was sick the other evening, I think it was food poisoning. So I've been eating a bit lighter. I did lose a few pounds - not that I recommend doing it this way I'm trying to stick to my food plans for the weekend, so I can see how I do at my weigh-in on Monday. I'd like to be back where I was a few weeks ago. Having that lower number on the scale is just a buffer to me and I get nervous when I see it go too high. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are doing well today wwlurker - I'm looking forward to your progress report, I know you'll get it together I'm doing pretty well today, but feel like overeating. I popped a bag of popcorn and just finished eating that, so I hope that helps fill me up. I'll be glad to make it through today (the last day of my week).

Good morning.
I keep forgetting to weigh in, so I'm still not sure where I am, but I know that I'm up. I'll try to remember tomorrow morning.
This week I am focusing on eating healthy and kind of "detoxing" from all of the junk I've been eating. I find it so addictive. It's such a slippery slope for me.
I was going to go to the gym this morning but I felt like I needed to focus on my eating for a few days until I feel like I have that under my belt and I feel a bit better. I've been feeling pretty gross.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi, I was sick last week with a chest cold and busy with the kids. I haven't weight in yet so no news on that front. Still weighing, measuring, and tracking. Kids are off from school and I have to take them to the orthodontist later today. sunrose49, Glad you ds is doing well. cj59, Hope you are feeling better. wwlurker, what age are you kids? Mine are 14 and 16 and keep me pretty busy with all of their activities.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today wwlurker - Hope you made it to the gym and that the number on the scale is good to you. leesa - I hope you are feeling better from your cold. Sounds like both of you are very busy with your children. I'm sure it's a lot of work, but I bet they bring a lot of joy into your life too I'm doing pretty well today, even though I'm fighting a desire to overeat. I weighed-in and I'm up just a little from last Monday, but I'm down from when I was up a few pounds on the first of the month. So I'm happy with those results. I wish that maintaining our weight was without a bunch of fluctuations, but I'm finding that's not true and I guess it never will be. I have to remember to focus on staying on track maybe more than worrying about a number on the scale. Easier to say than do though Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Good morning Well I faced the scale and was down a 1 lb. It's going slow, but at least it's moving down. Making chili today, since it's cold here and I have stuff going on with the kids after school. wwlurker, it seems like yesterday that my kids where that age. They are growing up too fast for me. cj59, Hang in there and I hope you have an On Plan rest of the week.

Hi everyone. I had a hectic day. Yesterday I did really well until the evening. Today I was busy all day and didn't eat until late, but haven't had anything completely unhealthy. cj59 - the kids are totally worth it - most days. leesa - WTG on the loss! I'm keeping on, keeping on!
