Short and sweet goddesses is a thread especially for us "Short n' Petite Gals". As "Short n' Petites", we have our own issues. Our goals are lower, and as we all know, a 5-pound loss or gain can make a huge difference on a Short n' Petite. We are here to support and encourage one another, so please feel free to join us!

Hi all, Arm knitting is when you use your arms as knitting needles. There are youtube videos tutorials on it. I made Korean beef bibimbap tonight from HelloFresh. It turned out pretty good. Joan, that sounds really painful. I hope that they don’t have to replace the implants. Sue, hope your mom’s surgery goes well. JoJo, here’s a ribbed scarf pattern that you might like: www.purlsoho.com/create/2008/12/02/easy-mistake-stitch-scarf/. I still haven’t made a hat yet, but want to work on one over the holidays.

So did pilates and yoga and DH did yoga again! I introduced him to a guy who does pilates regularly and he told him he needs to come to that! So you never know, he may actually try it next week. It would be so good for him.
Made shrimp last night and have leftovers so had a great lunch with shrimp and a kale salad--finished it off with two zuchinni brownies--I have been doing that daily and find it is such a nice treat and they are small squares and only 79 cal @.
Holly, is that Hello Fresh thing super pricey? Has to be really convenient with not having to shop I would think.

Hi!
Another nice sunny day here, unbelievably warm this time of year. Mom's cataract surgery went fine yesterday. Having been through it already once before, she was not nervous like the first time.
Holly, thanks for starting Nov thread. Yum, love bibimbap. I have seen the arm knitting on tv, funny!
Joan, so great that your DH is getting into the exercise!
Today is a relaxing day so far. Will go to gym soon. Tonight a young woman who used to work in our company and with me is coming over with her boyfriend. We'll have some wine, they'll look at SO's art, then we'll go to a byob in the neighborhood.

Just back from JDRWalk for the Cure--did 4.5 miles so far today. It is sunny, high 60 to low 70's and a bit of breeze. Perfect for long walk! 4000 walkers today.
Prepping two big butterrnut squashes for roasting now. Taking DD and both DGS's to see Rita Rudner tonight for DGS17's birthday today--so glad he agreed to go--decided it would be fun to laugh together for an hour and a half! I just do not want to just give him money. We will grab a bite to eat late after. It will be their first ever comedy show.
Played cards last night with BF's here.
I was just curious about the Blue Apron thing Holly. I really thought bibimbap was a typo! Never had or heard of it.
Having breaksfast out in the morning with cruise BF's --she is still involved with JDRF as now they fired her replacement as he sucked. I sort of let them know that I am Gala-ed-out and don't plan to go to that again. She does not seem to be able to retire!

Hi!
Watching football, doing house stuff during commercials, filing papers etc.
It was so great to see young ex co-worker. I feel like her mom, haha. It was good to hear that her favorite project ever was the one we worked the longest on together. It was my last big project in the office, in Tennessee. She has been working at a very good design firm for the past 18 months.
Joan, bibimbap is a korean rice dish, starting to get very popular here. Hope you had a good time with DGS17 at the show
Last night we went to a gallery opening 1 block away. The work was not that impressive, SO's is much better!
Will go to the gym later.

Hi all, Holly thanks for the pattern. I am still doing the hat. Have started it over 5 times!! Everytime I learn something else that makes it look better. The downside of teaching yourself is that you have to learn as you go instead of knowing ahead of time.
We forgot to set our clock back last night and ended up at church at 9:30 - in the middle of the 9:00 service and not yet the 10:30 service. So went to breakfast. Was then not hungry after church for lunch. DH was of course still wanting lunch, so I just ate a grilled cheese sandwich while he ate breakfast again for lunch. Don't know how he does it. He never tires of breakfast food - I do!
Been raining here - now dark and dreary.
DH wants to go to a movie this afternoon or evening. Don't know what we will see - he will choose. I just go along for the ride!

What is it? you just push one wrong key and everything erases!!!GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Rain here for the last two days. Hoping the weather is better tomorrow for DH's Bible study group and spouses to have a cookout here. We are providing the hamburgers and hotdogs, drinks, and I made brownies today. Everyone will bring something for sides. I'm hoping that we can eat outside but if not we will make do with inside. If the weather permits, I'll clean up the yard tomorrow.
Tonight we had salmon, french green beans, and squash. Drinking some cinnamon hottea now.
The knitting is going slow - I may breakdown and go back to my crocheting to really be able to make something

Sue, nice to have a young x colleague affirm your influence on them! I will have to look up the Korean rice dish. Has SO continued to pursue the idea of looking for studio space? He should be showing his work!
JoAnne, I see knotting projects I would love to do all the time but am unwilling to learn as I really must get back to quilting before I start anything new! Maybe while I am restricted from the gym!
it is getting pretty cool at night--had to come home and put on warmer clothes to go eat at CPK tonight after our dr appts. My primary care Dr said I was his model patient--my blood tests came out so awesome--cholesterol went way down and he saw the 11 # weight loss as well. Always asks what your exercise routine is and he was pretty impressed with my two hr @day gym plus walking--said he did not need to see me for a year.
DH walked today again. We did the JDRF walk and that day ended up being nearly a 7 mile day! Rita Rudner was fun. The boys actually laughed a lot. DGS17 came and acted fine but he chose to look sloppy--both DD and I were disappointed to see him willing to show up in sweats (just gray sweatshirt material type) an old crummy tee and slippers--yes slippers! It made me sad that he does not have pride in how people would see him. The next morning DGS13 went over to his dad's because the other GParents were coming to town to take them to lunch for his birthday--but DGS13 walked by his bedroom and saw he was smoking pot with a bong pipe that morning before going! OMG it is ever so disheartening--and that night I felt like he looked like a "loser" --you know--just a sloppy non-caring person--it was sad. None of us said anything--but it was disappointing to say the least.
DGS13 does not want to be at his dad's anymore because he does not want to be around it.

Hi!
It's cold today! We went from 70s to 50s so quickly. And now darker earlier.
Jojo, what movie did you end up seeing? Hope it doesn't rain for your event.
Joan, little steps with DGS17, at least he went to the show. I'm glad that DGS13 has such a negative reaction to all that is going on at his dad's.
Very sad about Roy Halladay, so young. Loved him on the Phillies.
Spent yesterday looking into healthcare plans, such a pain. Today was volunteering day. Got to learn another new task. It is such a work out there, everything is huge and heavy, and because of high volume, one task llike today, crushing garlic cloves in food processor, took 40 minutes.

Hi all,
Been busy with work and other stuff. Trying to finish up some projects for next week’s Art Sale. I am making several coaster sets along with the scarves. We’re doing a librarian group table again.
JoJo, I have heard that crocheting does go a lot faster than knitting. I just prefer to use both hands.
Joan, I hope things get better for him. It’s a tough age.
Sue, that’s encouraging. Are you still on call for catering jobs?

Sue - American Assasina was the movie. Pretty good. Saw Let There BeLight, a Christin movie tonight.
The cookout last night went well except that it rained and we had to be inside
Holly - the problem with the hat I am making is that I have started it over a million times but each time it gets better. I guess I am still learning.
I bought a posture support brace for mu back to see if it can improve my posture any. It is so bad due to the scoliosis and kyphosis I have. It is so comfortable and gives me great support but not sure how much posture correction it gives.
We are having Thanksgiving at my sister’s so I am trying hard to get all of my Christmas presents ready so nothing will have to be mailed. I am doing all of my shopping online this year . Only a very few things that I cannot get on line. Amazon is great!

Just got home--we took DD down to the Zappos Container Park in downtown old Vegas--she saw how much improved the area is--lots of new privately owned eating places, murals on buildings, etc. shoppedfor a frame for a watercolor she gave me and then had lunch with her in laws. Her DFIL is the one who had a head injury years ago and is not 100% --in fact with aging he is a bigger mess than ever--no idea how the DMIL can manage!
Tonight I am cooking. Making panko crusted halibut with mango sauce, baked SW potatoes, Asian slaw.
We will get up at 3:30 and head to LA to pick up DGD17 at LAX, take her to USC for a dance workshop and parent informative session. Then at 5 we take them back to airport and drive back to Vegas--whoa will be ten hrs of driving in one day! But we really don't think we want to spend a night. Only have Sunday and Monday before my oral surgery.
Jo Anne, I did not know your posture was being to be affected now. Doing Pilates might
Holly was the sale this weekend?
Sue we were here talking about chefs today taking DD around downtown where several chefs have opened their own small restaurants. DD was saying she heard a podcast about chefs and high incidences of drug and alcohol abuse due to high stress--so was telling her what you had said about stress and chefs.
