I’m working on washcloths and a scarf for now.
JoJo, the violin is hard. Do you have one? How’s the hat going?

Starting to prep for dinner—-baking two salmon filets to use for salmon patties. Cooked my beets today first thing and had arugula beet, goat cheese salad for lunch with cottage cheese and an apple. Don’t knock brocolli for breakfast till you try brocolli with eggs—-really tasty, JoAnne, honest. Made that again today and chopped up one of my ripe tomatoes along with it, the tostada chips and the salsa—-loving that—no need for toast and corn tortillas avoid the white flour as well. Just making a romain salad with some of the tomatoes for tonight with salmon patties.
Went to the dental surgeon and had ten stitches removed today and then the gym for yoga and weights and since then have been working on building the background for the quilt panel with umbrellas—-finally drew my third concept—merged one and two—made a scene with sea gull, beach umbrellas and the beach airplane pulling the advertising sign which just says Beach Week. I think it is going to be cute. Ready to start cutting umbrella tops now and the other pieces of the scene.
DH is hanging Christmas lights.

Hi!
I volunteered Tues and Thurs this week, met more new people. Every time I go there are more new people. They come and go. One woman told me not to tell people my real age because I looked like I'm in the 30's haha
Joan, there is a Cook's Illustrated recipe for meatloaf that has mushrooms in it. I used to make that too. Who are you giving the quilt to?
Jojo, I used to play the violin! Finally sold mine about 5 years ago because I haven't played since shortly after college. It is difficult intrument and takes a lot of practice to be good.
Still going to the gym every day, walking about 6 miles each time. On volunteer days I might not go or if I do it's 4 miles.
Finally got my insurance figured out, glad I have this consultant to help me

Hi Sue—-wow, six miles a day is really good—-I have to add walking back in—-have not walked since back from CA. Did dance and weights today tho—-then TJ’s for some apples, bananas and avocados and eggs. So funny one carton of eggs only had 11–a manager walked by just as I looked—-I told him that I thought this was the most bizarre shoplifting example ever—-he laughed and called over another clerk to show her as well!
Ate a salmon patty for breakfast and one persimmon. Lunch was a bit of leftover pork tenderloin from last night and a beet arugula salad and jicama.
Sue, I never put mushrooms in meatloaf before this recipe—-and I really love it that way. I made two small ones when I made that the other day so I have enough for two small meals in the freezer.
I did gain 2 pounds over TG—-did not get back to tracking right away but am doing it all the way today—it will go away fast once I do that consistently. I am a person who has no sense of how much I am eating without actually seeing it in front of me! So easy to forget what I have snacked on and then go for more but much harder when I track it.
My Eurosteam iron quit—-called the company today and they can fix it—-the repair center and US distributor is in Vegas so am going to run it out there today in a few—-it is quite a long ways from here. I cannot do any more sewing without it. So for the next few days I will work at drawing out the bottom panel—-the sort of climax to the beach quilt story—-Sue this one is for Molly—-I really feel I am going to finish it before we go to DC in April! I may have to have a party as this has been a long haul!

Hi all,
I will be very glad when this semester is over. Lots of issues with several different things.
My immediate family is planning a trip out west for the second half of May. We’ll go to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, etc. Any hidden gems that we should see?
Sue, you are doing really well with exercise. I need to get back to doing the bike regularly. It really helps my mood. Did it this morning.
Joan, how’s the quilting going? Has your mouth healed ok?
