Since there's some angst on the board, I thought I'd start a movie thread.
What's the last movie you saw? What do you want to see?
I saw Sing on xmas eve with my sister and nieces. It was really cute and entertaining. This weekend I'm going to see Hidden Figures and I'm really looking forward to it.

I bet the girls would love Sing. And you probably will too - there's a lot of good music! I wish I had looked at the cast before I went so I knew who was doing the voices.

We've been doing a lot of Redbox rentals lately, and Netflix. So some older stuff we never had the opportunity to see in the theater. I am looking forward to Furious 8 coming out in April and will take DD's and friends to that one. My girls would like to see Sing and Moana - they are 15 & 16 and I love that they are still into this stuff - LOL

Both of my dds (and sil) were here over the holidays so we saw more movies than usual.
All of us went to see "Rogue One" and really enjoyed us.
Dds and I went to see "La La Land". Enjoyed that as well, but with all of the hype and awards I felt like I should love it a lot more than I did.
Dh and I went to see "Hidden Figures" a few days ago. We both thought it was very good. Dh even mentioned last night that he liked the movie more, the more he thought about it. Acting was wonderful and it is a very interesting story.

luanne I felt the same about La La Land. I liked it but it's not one of my all time favorites. I was surprised it won so many awards this week. I saw Rogue One with the grands and liked that also. I want to see Hidden Figures too; can't believe I never heard of that story, living here with NASA right down the road. I'm watching The Crown with DD at her house in the afternoons before the grands get home from school. It's only on Netflix. It's good. I'm missing so many shows and series because we don't have all of the alternate ways to watch TV (Roku, amazon prime, netflix, etc.) Even CBS is going to have some new way to see their specials and movies so I'll probably miss those too. It's called CBS All Access and will cost extra to see special new series on that channel. For those interested, a new PBS series starts this coming Sunday, "Victoria". Another period piece about Queen Victoria. It won't replace Downton Abbey but will be good.

Linda, I loved The Crown. I just finished the OA on Netflix and Red Oaks season 1 on Amazon Prime. The next movie I am going to see is Fences. I've had Hidden Figures on my kindle but haven't had time to read it.

On Christmas Day, DH and I went to see Moana. It was great! No explosions, no guns, no drugs, no blood, no violence. Just fun. We used to vacation fairly frequently in the South Pacific, so it made us nostalgic for our younger years.
Last week we saw Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence. We enjoyed it tremendously.
I'm planning to watch Victoria next week. I miss Outlander.

I watched the first episode of The Crown and really enjoyed it. I've got to watch the rest of it.
