Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all,
Cathy - the wind storm that you had yesterday is in my area this morning. I heard a thump around 1am. Didn't think much of it, then I heard the wind blowing really loud. Got up to go to the bathroom and the door was shut. Not a good sign. I have one of those crank windows in my bathroom and the wind must have got underneath it. Blew the window wide open, crank no longer working. So I will have to call around and see if I can get some type of emergency repair work done asap. I might be able to pull it shut in the morning, but it won't be a permanent fix. I listen you talk radio and on the weekend one of the companies offers handyman services. I'll start there.
Jill - so nice to hear from you. Remember that you need to somehow find some "me" time, especially with everything that's going on. Prayers continue.
Ruth - yes, definitely find some time to give your hands a rest. You sure have been busy making those caps. I'm sure they are always appreciated.
Dottie - sorry you missed playing bocce. They have a huge bocce court in my area. Summers bring many people out for tournaments.
Kmart recently closed in my area, looks like our Sears store is next. I think they will be closed sometime early spring, so I don't anticipate any spring/summer clothes there.
Oh well, I need to try and get back to sleep. Back in the morning.

I have a call out to 3 places. Hopefully someone will call me back soon. I was able to get the window closed with a broom. Tried the crank handle, the window does open, but it looks like the crank is not connected because it won't close back up. I will probably end up putting a nail in to keep the window shut until someone can fix it. Hopefully that's all it is. House did warm back up once I went outside and got the window closed. It's always something.

Joyce - Thank was a rude awakening! I hope you can get someone out to repair that window soon. Let's hope you don't have to replace it like Ruth is doing. I think we'll still have a K-mart open about 15 miles north of where I live. I should go the next time and buy another pair or two of the slip on shoes/moccasins they sell. My brown pair is wearing out, just bought a black pair around Christmas. Latest weather forecast now has an ice storm hitting here early Friday afternoon...possibly that morning. We live in the "more than 1/2" ice area"! With being all-electric, we certainly don't need to lose power, we may have to slide over to our next door neighbor's house...they have two fireplaces and a lot of wood. Today was John's oncology appt. She didn't feel he was quite up for chemo yet, she suggested an iron infusion as his count was low and for us to return on Tuesday, get more labs, see her, and then, probably, chemo. Problem was...their infusion room was so booked today that they can do a 90 minute iron infusion until tomorrow...and that's if we arrive promptly at 8 a.m. Just as well she did do chemo today because that pump would have to be taken off and the port flushed late Friday Morning....at the start of the storm. I guess, I'll go up to Aldi's and Walmarts today and attempt to beat the rush tomorrow for those French Toast Supplies that everyone buys at the mention of snow or ice on the TV weather. Might as well p.u a huge bag of de-icer so I can spread it in front of us as we try to reach the neighbor's house...should we lose power.

Made it out. Couldn't believe that Walmarts was out of rock salt and they only had a few jugs of the ice melt pellets...They were over $10! I found rock salt in the garage. it's clumped together but a big hammer will take care of that problem. I had enough of the loose stuff to fill an old Folger's coffee canister...one of those that holds about 3#. Probably enough salt to sprinkle from the patio to the mailbox and out to the barn to refill. BTW, it was 68 here a little while ago! Gotta love St.Louis weather, LOL.
Tomorrow, I hope to add some clothing to the donate pile from the closet/room. We have way too much that doesn't get worn..past time to part with most of it. I think we'll only be at the cancer center 90-120 minutes so we should be home before 10:30...plenty of time to fill a couple of bags and still get a nap!
